Posted by Lawliet on 11:11

Items

Hidden pictures:Go to where Zelda is met for the first time. Look into the window on her left, as you enter. Pictures of Yoshi, Princess Toadstool, Mario, Bowser and Luigi can be seen. Look from different angles to see them all. Throw something into the window with Mario to receive 20 rupees. Throwing something into the other window will result in a lit bomb being thrown back at Link.
As a child, go to Lon Lon ranch and a little girl will be singing. Look down at her shirt to see a small Bowser emblem.
When you enter Zelda's castle and talk to her near the end of the game as Adult Link, on your right is a picture of Luigi and Mario.
When you first exit from Links house, look to your left (when facing the house). You will see a couple of drawings on Link's house. Hold C-Up to see them better.
When you talk to Princess Zelda, after you have collected the Forest Stone from the Deku Tree, both sides of the courtyard have windows. On one side are three to four pictures of other Nintendo characters. The other side appears to be empty. However, if you shoot a Deku Seed with the Fairy Sling Shot at the empty window, you will see a little "Easter egg" from the programmers.
Breaking open boxes:To break open a regular brown wooden box, just run at it and press A. Link will roll and smash open the box. This is useful when finding all the chickens and to get a Skulltula in the Marketplace room with the pots.
Items from trees:Roll into a tree in Hyrule field or in a town. The tree will randomly give Rupees, Hearts, Deku Nuts or other items, but at times will not give anything. Note: If you roll into the tree near a bunch of stones in a circle at Hyrule Castle, a golden Skulltula will appear. This trick also works at the tree closest to the entrance at Kakario village and Zora's river.
Potions:
Green potionFound at Kakoiro town and the Market. It fills the magic meter.
Red potionFound at Kakoiro town and the Market. It fills up your all of your hearts.
Blue potionFound at Kakoiro Town only. Go behind the potion shop and climb the steps. Enter the door and you will be in the Blue Potion Shop. Talk to the lady and you will get the Blue potion. You must get the Biggoron's sword (broken) to do this. The Blue potion fills both your magic and heath.
Finding the key at the Treasure Box Shop:Go to the Treasure Box Shop in the Market at night as a child. Talk to the man to get the first key, then use the Lens of Truth to learn which box contains the key.
At night as a child, go in the back alley to the key shop. Play the game and if you choose the right chest the first time, choose the following chests in a zig-zag pattern to will win every time.
Free key in the Gerudo Training Grounds:Go into the lava room in which you must collect silver rupees in the Gerudo Training Grounds. Stand on the first platform and use the Song Of Time. You can jump to the two time blocks and grab the key above. If you keep going ahead, you will find the key room where you open the locked doors. You will find three treasure chests there. Do not open the door to the left. Only go to the right when you enter the key room in the entrance of the training ground. Note: Once you go back into the lava room, you will have to retrieve all the rupees you collected earlier. This is also another way to go through the room with only a hookshot.
Link's records:Look to the left of Links bed and press A. You can read all of Link's records that he accomplishes through the game.
Recommended equipment for temples:
Forest Temple: Master Sword, Hyrule Shield, Kokiri Tunic, Kokiri Boots
Fire Temple: Master Sword, Hyrule Shield, Goron Tunic, Kokiri Boots
Water Temple: Master Sword, Hyrule Shield, Zora Tunic, Kokiri Boots/Iron Boots
Shadow Temple: Master Sword, Hyrule Shield, Kokiri Tunic, Hover Boots
Spirit Temple: Master Sword, Mirror Shield, Kokiri Tunic, Kokiri Boots
Fairy fountain locations:
After getting the Goron's Bracelet and the Bomb Bag, search Hyrule Field for suspicious looking boulders for a fairy fountain.
In the same tomb where a Hylian Shield is found, destroy the wall to find a fairy fountain.
On the way to Zora's Domain, move along the green shores of Zora'a River. Bomb a boulder at this location to discover a fairy fountain beneath it.
When leaving the Sacred Forest meadow, a ladder will appear on a hedge. This leads to a clearing that contains a boulder. A fairy fountain is under the boulder.
In the watery paradise of Zora's Domain, play the Song of Storms to open a hole in a platform. The hole leads to a fountain below.
In the dry desert after playing the Song of Storms, a hole will open up in the ground that will lead to a fairy fountain.
Hint: Red Fairy locations:Note: This does not include Gossip Stones. Navi will always turn green at the correct location to stand at. You must touch them all for this to work. Note: Any Gossip Stone will pass one out if you play the Song Of Storms in front of them, but these other locations were not easy to find.
1. Hyrule Field, water to entrance of Zora's River. Song Of Storms.
2. Hole in Death Mountain, past the boulders, before the path, in the puddle past the cow. Song Of Storms.
3. In the Lost Woods by the water to Zora's River. Song Of Storms.
4. Down the hole before the entry to Lake Hylia, in the fenced area. Song Of Storms.
5. In the entrance of the Gerudo's Training Grounds. Song Of Storms.
6. In the Royal Family's Tomb, at the skull that says a hint to the Sun's Song. Sun's Song.
7. In Lake Hylia, the right pedestal where you get the Fire Arrows. Sun's Song.
8. Down a hole in Kokiri Forest before the entrance to the Forest Maze, after the Deku Shrub. Sun's Song.
9. Shadow Temple, the platform where the Stalfos is in the guillotine chamber. Song Of Storms.
10. By the flag on Death Mountain. Sun's Song.
11. Shadow Temple, where the first Beamos is located after you hover to the "tongue". Song Of Storms.
12. Shadow Temple, in the room that is past the door under the eye that shoots flames. Sun's Song.
13. Ganon's Castle, where you destroy a Beamos in the Spirit Chamber. Sun's Song.
14. Beside the pot of lava in the Thieves Hideout kitchen. Sun's Song. Be careful, it can turn to night or day if you missed the spot and go back to the entrance that you came in.
15. Ice Cavern, in the middle of the spinning spike block, first one. Song Of Storms.
16. Bottom of the well, behind the corridor with two rows of pots in B3 where the Re-Dead is located. Sun's Song.
17. Spirit Temple, past the boulder corridor, in the room with the Like-Like, same place as the chest. Sun's Song
18. Spirit Temple, under the light beam in the room with the four Armos. Sun's song. Note: Navi does not turn green in this specific area..
Easy Fairies:When you are a child, take out a Deku Stick and hold it near a butterfly. If it lands on the stick, it will turn into a Fairy.
You can summon a Great Fairy by playing Zelda's Lullaby.
More money with Arrows Of Light:After getting the Arrows Of Light from Zelda, you will not have any problems with money, even if you do not have all golden Skulltulas. Just go to Lake Hylia or another location with enemies and kill them with the Arrows Of Light. You will always get a purple rupee (worth 50 rupees). This does not work with spiders on the walls or enemies who always give the same thing, such as the Poes.
Note: This trick also works with bats.
Finding a Deku Seed bags:Go to the Lost Woods. After entering, turn right and continue forward to a ledge with a fence and ladder to the left. A metal circular object will be suspended from a tree at this location. Shoot it three times exactly in the center with the slingshot and to receive the bag. A "100" will flash when your shot hits the center. You must score "100" three times in a row. The bag will hold 40 seeds.
As a child, after you get the Deku Seed bag that holds 40 seeds, go either to the Shooting Gallery in Hyrule Castle Town or the Lost Woods (the place that the two Skull Kids are at with the silver bulleye). If you go to the Shooting Gallery, hit all 10 Rupees to get the bigger bag. If you go to the Lost Woods, you will have to hit the center of the target three times or the outside of the target thirty times. After that, a Deku Scrub will spit out the 50-seed bag. Going to the Lost Woods is recommended because you will save 20 Rupees if you do so. Note: If you run out of seeds at the Lost Woods, you will have to get more. If you run out, the Deku Scrub will restart the counting cycle. When you hit the center of the target the number "100" will appear. When you hit the outside of the target, the number "30" will appear.
Easy Deku Sticks:To get 20 Deku Sticks, go to the Lost Woods, where you see a Deku shrub seller. Talk to him and get 20 Deku Sticks. To get 30 Deku Sticks, make sure you have the Skull mask and go to the part in the Lost Woods where you see two Deku shrub sellers. Go straight forward and fall in a grotto hidden in the tall grass. If you do not fall in it right away, keep moving around in there until you do. You will see an open place with a plant thing to the right. Put on your Skull mask and walk forward in front of where you see nothing. A large number of Deku Scrubs will appear, and look and seem as if they are communicating with one another. They will then jump around and the King Deku scrub will appear and give you the ability to hold up to 30 Deku Sticks. Note: Other masks will have different effects on the scrubs.
Forty Bomb Bag:Play at the Bomachu Bowling Ally in the market. Keep playing until she says that you can win a Bomb Bag. Win and get a Bomb Bag that holds thirty bombs. Next, as a child go to the third floor in the Goron City. You will see a giant rolling Goron. Blow him up. He will get mad at you. Keep blowing him up, and after the sixth to eighth time he will give up and give you a Bomb Bag that holds forty bombs as a reward.
Getting heart piece above Dodongo's cavern as a child:Go up to where the bomb flower used for opening the cavern is located. Throw the bomb flower somewhere so you can use Z-targeting. Then, hold back on the Analog-stick and do a back flip. If done properly, you should land on the mesa-type platform. Although you will lose hearts from the fall, you will regain them when the heart piece is in Link's hands.
Heart piece in Kakariko Village:When you get a Longshot, you can get on the roof of Granny's potion shop. An easier way is to go to the windmill with the fence in front of it. Get on the section right in front of the door. Now the roof is accessible by a Hookshot.
There is an easy way to get this Heart piece as a child. Climb on the lookout tower and go as far forward as you can. Use Z Targeting (you will not actually target anything) and run to the left side of the tower, while still facing forward. Keep running and the Action Button should turn to "Jump". Press A and to hang off of the big fence near the house. Climb on to it, then jump up to the roof of the house. Talk to the man, and he will give you the Piece of Heart.
The Giant's Knife:Go to Goron City as young Link. On one of the floors is a wall that appears questionable. Blow it up, then keep destroying the other walls behind it. Talk to the big may to learn that he is working on a weapon. Return as older Link to receive the Giant's Knife. Note: It will break with about five swings.
before The Giant's Knife breaks, it is the best sword in the game. It is even better than the Big Goron sword because it is slightly more damaging. Even after it breaks, it is still useable. The only problem is that it is now as short as the Kokiri sword. It does suffer from less damage after it breaks. You can buy another one after it breaks, but this is not recommended. Only use it before it breaks on a Boss or similar enemy to get its full potential.
Getting Gold Skulltulas:Capture a bug in a bottle and drop them on some soft soil, where Link would put some Magic Beans. A Gold Skulltula will appear. Kill it and get your new found token. This works on all of them except the soft soil spot right next to the man that sells the Magic Beans.
Unlimited Skulltulas:Go outside Hyrule Castle as young Link to where Talon is met. There will be a tree at that location. Play the Song of Storms and a grotto will appear. Enter the grotto, destroy the walls with a bomb, and kill the Skullata. Use the boomerang to get the token while doing a back flip to escape. Keep repeating this to get unlimited Skulltulas. Note: If done incorrectly. reset game and try again.
The Boomerang is required for the following trick. Go to the hole in the ground by Lon Lon Ranch where a Skulltula can be found. Go down and kill the Skulltula, but do not collect the coin right away. Use the boomerang to get the Skulltula, and before you get the boomerang back to you, backflip into the warp portal. If done correctly, the screen will blank will display "You got" without finishing the sentence. Repeat this to collect over 100 coins.
As a child after getting the Song Of Storms, go to the place where Zelda is located, but do not enter the castle. There is a tree there. Go to it and play the Song Of Storms. A hole will appear. Jump in it and use three bombs on the three walls and a Skulltala will appear. Hit it with your boomerang and throw it at the spirit. Go out, fall, and repeat.
Go to Gerudo Valley. Go to the overhang of Hyrule Field before you enter Gerudo Valley. There should be a circle of rocks with a yellow rock in the middle. Bomb this and go down. Walk straight forward and use Din's Fire. Two webs will burn. Go through the one on the Right. kill the Skulltula and Z-target the token. Go back as far as possible without losing your lock on, then throw your boomerang. Go back and get on the square thing. The dialogue box will appear with no text. Then, go back onto Hyrule Field. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Getting the Biggest Quiver:Enter the archery game as an adult after getting the Gerudo Membership Card. It costs 20 rupees to play, but is worth it. Play the first time and get 1,000 points and to receive a Heart Container. Play the game a second time and get 1,500 points and to receive the Biggest Quiver, which holds up to fifty arrows. When starting the archery game, aim for the bulls-eye and fire to get 100 points each time. Also shoot at the target at the end. When you come around the end target, aim for the clay jars. Shoot them to collect 100 points per jar. Keep getting 100's on the targets and successfully shoot all the clay jars to get the required 1,500 points for the Biggest Quiver.
Getting the Golden Gauntlets:Go to the shadow room in Ganon's Castle. When you enter the room, you will see green rubble. Destroy it so it does not get in your way. then longshot to the torch that you see. Next, longshot yourself to the Like Like and destroy it. Get Fire Arrows and shoot the torch. When catches on fire, use the Lens Of Truth and go for the switch on the right. Get on it and a treasure box will appear. Longshot over and open it to get the Golden Gauntlets.
Illegal fishing lure (sinking lure):Use the following steps to get a better fishing lure that can catch more fish. As an adult, walk to the log that is sticking out in the pond. Walk around on it awhile to find a sinking lure, that can catch fish almost every time. Note: The lure may only be used once, and if used to catch a record weight fish, the counterman will not give Link a prize. The sign on the tank will also be marked with "With illegal fishing lure".
To get the sinking lure at the fishing pond, walk along the walls and you will eventually find it.
The sinking lure may be found more than once. For example, in one game it can be found for the first time in the little stream by the rocks by the wall in the fishing pond. Quit fishing, then return a few minutes later. Walk on the log in the water, then go over to the same location to find the sinking lure again.
Play the fishing game by using the Scarecrow's Song or complete the Water Temple as an adult. Get up to it in Lake Hylia. Go across the pond to where the lily pads are located. Walk around for a short while and you should find the sinking lure. This is the only way you can catch the 20 pound eel in the middle of the pond, because it stays at the bottom. The reward for this fish is the Golden Scale, which allows you to dive 12 feet underwater.
Catching big fish:Cast at the logs or sticks in the water. You can catch a 22 lb. fish at those locations.
Catching the Loach:When fishing in the Hylian Pond, you may see a strange looking fish that resembles like a eel with fins. That is the Hylian Loach. You can Z-target all other fish, but the only time you can get a lock on the Loach is when it comes up for air. When it does you will hear a popping sound. However, after it reaches the bottom, you will lose your targetting. First find the sinking lure. Then find out where the Loach is located. Press C-Up, center the screen on it, then cast. Your lure has to go over him if you want to catch it. Use the Analog-stick and slowly move it in various directions. Your lure should come on top of the Loach. It weighs around 15 pounds so it should not give you much trouble when reeling it in. Do not cast too far over it -- while you are trying to pull your lure toward the Loach another fish will go for the lure and pull it off track. If you ask the man to weigh it he will give you 50 rupees and put the Loach back because there are very few of them left.
The Zora Tunic and Iron Boots are required for this trick. Go to the bottom of the lake so you can see the Loach. Stay a short distance away from, it and you can see the fish swimming in a circle. Get the sinking lure and throw it in the middle of the fish to catch a 22 lb. fish and get 100 rupees from the man.
Go to the Fishing Pond immediately before the rooster crows or wolf howls. When you go in, the water should be all cloudy and misty. That is when you know the Hyrule Loach is there. Rent a rod and find the sinking lure (which should be on the log or near the rock around the little stream). Once you find the sinking lure, walk in the water and look around for a long eel-like fish (the Loach). Walk out the water and cast the lure, making sure that it is about a foot or so in front of the Loach's face, and wait. He should go up for air. After he goes up for air for the fourth of fifth time, he should see the lure and go after it. Press B a couple times and he should bite the lure. Just reel him in. He weighs up from 30-35 pounds. When you catch the Hyrule Loach, the man will only give you 50 rupees since the Loach is a rare species. This will only work when the water is cloudy -- that is the only time the Loach appears (80%). The Loach will only go for the lure on the fifth or sixth time he goes up for air (or even longer) -- press B button every time he goes up for air, and your chances of catching him are greater.
Walk into the fishing pond immediately when the rooster crows in the morning. The pond will be misty and the Loach will be out playing with its baby.
Do not get the Sinking Lure, instead use your original Rod. As an adult, the Loach is there only once in a while but always at the same location. When you enter the Fishing Pond, it is at the left leaves. It only changes position when you scare it by walking nearby. Then, it will be in the center of the pond and will be unable to be caught. You must catch him while he is in the leaves. The best location to stand at is the small stream between the rocks in the water. To do this without scaring the Loach, when you enter the pond, go to the right until you get there. Use the Iron Boots to see if it is there before trying. Also, there are two other fishes that make it more difficult to catch the Loach. If you throw your rod and the other fish grab it, you hear the "enemy" sound and the Loach will be gone. If the other fish catch your lure, do not do anything. Just wait until it is off. The fish that it was on will swim to the middle of the pond and you will not have trouble with it any more. Repeat this if needed until the Loach remains in the leaves. Throw the rod again in the leaves and reel it in with the Analog-stickas quickly as possible. If you do not reel fast enough, it will not grab it. Repeat this till you get him, then reel him in. Note: When you are child, there are two Loaches, one in the left leaves, and one in the right. Use the same strategy to catch them.
Golden Scale:Go to the fishing pond at Lake Hylia at night. Fish until you catch a 20 lb. fish. Go to the shop owner and select "Weigh my fish". He will tell you that you have broken the record and give you the Golden Scale. This allows you able to dive deeper than with the Sliver Scale.
Hat lure:Go to the fishing pond as an adult. The owner will now be wearing a hat. Cast at him and to steal his hat. Do not give it back and you can use it as a lure. He will charge you for it when it is used.
Go to the fishing game at Lake Hylia, and cast the rod at the man at the counter. If you catch his hat, get the sinking lure (as explained in the "Illegal fishing lure (sinking lure)" hint. The hat will disappear and the man will never have it again. Note: This will not work if the sinking lure has already been collected.
Free Lon Lon Milk:Approach any cow with an empty bottle and play Epona's Song. The song will remind the cow of the pasture, and will give Link free milk.
Ocarina flats and sharps:Hold R and press one of the Ocarina playing buttons to make a sharp note, or Z to make a flat.
Iron Boots in Shadow Temple:When in the Shadow Temple, use the Iron Boots when near the fans. The fans will blow Link back without the extra weight of the boots.
Mask Of Truth:As Young Link, go to the Happy Masks shop near the Temple Of Time after it opens when you have talked to the guard who lets you up Death Mountain and asks you to get a mask. The mask he wants is called the Keaton Mask and is worth ten rupees. Get it and take it to the guard. After that, go back to the shop and pay the money for the mask and get the Skull Mask. Take this to the lone Skull Kid in the Forbidden Woods, left from the start of the woods. He will buy it. Go back to the shop and get the Scary Mask. Take this to the kid who is at the graveyard during the day. He will buy it. Go back to the shop and get the Bunny Hood mask. This is the hardest mask to sell, as you have to look around the Hyrule Fields for the marathon runner, then wait until night when he stops running to talk to him. Note: You must put on the mask; you have to talk to the man with it on. When you have done all of this you will get the Mask of Truth from the Happy Mask shop. You will now have the ability to talk to Gossip Stones.
Getting the three tunics:There are three tunics that can be found in the game.
Kokiri TunicAs a child and adult, you will start with this tunic.
Zora TunicYou can buy it as an adult. For 300 rupees. Or, after getting blue fire (buy it or find it in the ice cavern), burn the diamond that surrounds King Zora. He will give you the tunic.
Goron TunicYou can buy it as an adult. For 200 rupees. Or, as an adult, bomb the little rolling Goron. He will talk to you for a while. He will give it to you after you ask the two questions .
Finding the Goron Bracelet:Enter Goron City. Go to the bottom floor with the statue and stand on the carpet. Play Zelda's Lullaby to open the door. Once inside, stand in front of big brother (the Big Goron), and play Saria's Song. He will then dance. After he stops dancing, he will compliment the tune that you played and present you with the Goron Bracelet.
Deku Shield:Enter the Dodongo's Cavern. Go to the left, get the Bomb Flower, and explode the breakable walls. Behind one of the walls is a Business Scrub. For 50 rupees, he will give you a Deku Shield.
Water Tunic:You can get the Water Tunic by unfreezing King Zora. You have to be at least at the Ice Cavern as an adult. The Ice Cavern is near where Jabu-Jabu was located.
Big Sword:The Big Sword will break after a few tries, but if you perform a series of tasks later in the game you will get another one that never breaks.
Getting Biggoron's Sword:Use the following long trading sequence as an adult to get Biggoron's Sword. Go to the lady that gave young Link the empty bottle, when her Cuccos were rescued. She will give Link a Pocket Cucco egg. Wait for the egg to hatch, then bring it to Talon in Kakariko Village. Bring the Cucco back to the lady, to receive Cojiro, the Blue Cucco. Go to the Lost Woods, then turn left at the entrance. Give Cojiro to the man to receive an Odd Mushroom, which will spoil if too much time is wasted. Rush to the Potion shop in Kakariko Village, then go left into the room. Run into the shop to the right, then give the Mushroom to the lady at that location. She will give Link an Odd Potion. Hurry back to the Lost Woods. The man will be gone, but a Kokiri will be here. Give the Potion to her to receive the Poacher's Saw. Ride the horse to Gerudo Valley. There is a broken bridge here, so whip Epona to jump it. Give the saw to the carpenter that is outside to receive Biggoron's Broken Sword. Go to the top of Death Mountain, then walk to the right. Biggoron will appear, rubbing his eyes. He has an eye infection and will give link a Prescription. Bring the Prescription to King Zora after he has been unfrozen to receive the Eyeball frog, an ingredient for the Eyedrops. Hurry to the Lakeside Laboratory at Lake Hylia and give the Eyeball Frog to the Old Man. He will give Link the Eyedrops. Hurry back up to the Death Mountain Summit and ive the Eyedrops to Biggoron. After using them, he will give Link a Claim Check. Wait three days (play the Sun's Song six times to quickly pass the time), give him back the Claim Check to receive Biggoron's Sword. This weapon is twice as powerful as the Master Sword, and will not break like the Giant's Knife. Note: If Link is late during any of the time-sensitive parts of the trade, the game will restart back at the person you need to give the item to, and allow another try. Ocarina songs may not be used to teleport to a location during the trade.
When you are getting Biggoron's sword and you are timed (as when giving the eyedrops to Biggoron), instead of running all the way up Death Mountain, you can save and reset the game. You will have the eyedrops but you will not be timed.
When completing the "Trader Link" quest to get the Biggoron's Sword, after you get the eyedrops from the lakeside professor. ride Epona to Kakariko village. Cut through Goron City and mountain (you must have the Megaton Hammer) while wearing the Kokiri/Zora Tunic. When you get inside the crater, the countdown for the eyedrops stops, and you are given a countdown for how much longer you can stay. Leave through the top of the crater and give the eyedrops to Biggoron. It is possible to complete the run in about 1:53.
Extra Bottles:To get extra bottles, you have to sacrifice items permanently. Remember, you can never get these items back unless you start a new game. Go to where you can catch a Fairy. Equip your bottle on one of the C-buttons. While in the middle of catching the fairy, press Start and equip the item that you want to change into a bottle on the same C-button as your bottle. When you catch the fairy, your item will be turned into a bottle permanently. Be aware that you can never get that item back unless you start a new game. You can do this more than once with different items.
Press Start, then put one of your bottles in any C-button slot. Press Start again, then press that button and Start simultaneously. Put any item in the place of the bottle and resume the game. Press Start again. Look where the item was, and there will be a bottle.
The Fifth Bottle:Get Biggoron's sword with the claim check. Go to a Fairy fountain as an adult with an empty bottle. Swing the bottle, and pause the game half way through the swing. Place the claim check in the same spot as the bottle. The claim check with become, a fifth bottle. It may take a few tries, but when you get out the claim check, pressing the C-button that it is on may help.
The Sixth Bottle:There is a sixth bottle that can be obtained. Do the same thing as when getting the Biggoron sword, but as a child. You have to use the Mask Of Truth.
Deku Nut upgrade:When Link is running through the Lost Woods, he will find two boulders. One boulder will be near the beginning of the maze and the other will be near the end. Go after the boulder near the end, and bomb or hammer it. Fall into the hole that appears to find two Deku Business Scrubs. Defeat the first Scrub and he will allow Link to carry up to 30 Deku nuts.
The two Deku Nut upgrades can be found in the Lost Woods, in a secret grotto from a Business Scrub and in the Forest Stage, with the Mask of Truth. If you have already gotten the first one, you may not be able get the second one. Some other action, such as completing the game, getting through a certain temple, or something else may prevent this from happening. The following can be done to get both upgrades: start a new game, become an adult, complete the Forest Temple, go back to childhood, and get the second upgrade. Then the first upgrade can also be obtained.
Skulltula prizes:Visit the Skulltula house in the Kakario village after collecting every ten Gold Skulltulas to collect some valuable prizes.

Number of Skulltula TokensPrize for that amount
10 SkulltulasAdult's Wallet (holds 200 rupees)
20 SkulltulasStone of Agony (find hidden holes)
30 SkulltulasGiant's Wallet (holds 500 rupees)
40 SkulltulasBombchu
50 SkulltulasPiece of Heart
100 SkulltulasHuge rupee

Finding Gold Skulltulas:Hunt only at night because that is the time that the Gold Skulltulas appear. Some appear while Link is a child and some appear while he is an adult. A few appear during both these times. The Skulltulas like dirt patches, where the magic beans may be planted. Use a bottle of bugs to surface the spiders. Nine of the ten spots contain a Skulltula. Some like to hide in trees, so check them with a roll attack. It is wise to check most trees because most all of them have a good prize such as bombs or rupees if not a gold Skulltula. The Skulltulas can be in slingshot range many times, but require a boomerang to retrieve the token. They also love to hide in crates, so use the roll attack to break them.
Getting Fire and Ice arrows:After completing the Water Temple, go to Lake Hylia. Play the Sun Song at plaque near the warp point (serenade of water) to make the sun rise. As soon as this happens, shoot the sun with an arrow and fire arrows will appear. To get ice arrows, complete the Gerudo training center.
Link's earring:An earring can be seen in Link's left ear at the end of the game during the close-up, when Zelda and Link are talking in the sky.
Bowser label pin:Go to Lon Lon Ranch as a child. Go to the room were you play the Cucco game. Do not play the game. Instead, look at his shirt to see a pin that has a Bowser head.
Getting Epona:When an adult, go to Lon Lon Ranch, talk to the man standing at the gate, then pay him. Once in the corral, play Epona's Song. She will come to you. Get on her. Jump over the little fence, then while on Epona, talk to the man at the gate again. He will ask you to have a race. You have to defeat him the first time, then you have one more race. This trick requires adult Link, Epona, and her song. Get a Cocco in an area where Epona can get to you. Start attacking it until it calls other Cuccos to kill you. When this happens, take out your ocarina and play Epona's Song. Quickly get onto her, and you will be invincible to their attacks.
Change Gerudo Guards color:After rescuing the last man in the Gerudo's Fortress, a woman will appear and say that you are free to enter the fortress at any time. When she finishes, change your clothes (green, red or blue). The Gerudo will change the color of her lipstick, clothes and shoes. Note: This only works once. When you return later or save the game, she will be gone for the rest of the game.
Avoid Stal Kids:This trick lets you avoid the Stal Kids (annoying skeleton things that rise from the ground of Hyrule Field at night). If you do not wish for the Stal Kids to show themselves, simply wear the Bunny Mask.
Whenever you see Stal Kids at night on the field, play the Sun's Son and they will disappear.
Big Stal Kid:As a Child, go to the sign in front of Hyrule Castle. Go in the grass near it. Stay there and fight off all the Stal Kids. Eventually you will see a big Stal Kid that is twice the size of Link after the moon is halfway in the sky.
Get inside Jabu-Jabu's belly:Go into Zora's Domain. Go to the right of the shop and use an empty bottle to catch a fish in the water. Take it and put it directly in front of Jabu-Jabu's mouth. He will swallow you.
Finding Saria:When finding Saria, go to the Lost Woods and move in the following directions: Right, Left, Right , Left, Straight, Left, Right. You will then battle a dog-like creature. A few slashes with your sword will kill him. You will then enter a maze with monsters that shoot nuts at you. Use your Deku (fairy) shield to reflect them back at them. The maze is very simple, You will then find Saria. She will talk and give you Saria's song for your Ocarina.
Since the music cannot lead you anymore, the way to the Forest Temple is Right, Left, Right , Left, Straight, Left, Right. You can also get a shortcut there by going to the entrance of Zora's Domain. Do not go inside. Stay on the bridge and go to the right. There will be a small cave with a pool of water. Dive to the bottom to find a warp to the Lost Woods. Mido will block the way, so play Saria's Song.

Great fairy of power:This Great fairy gives Link the "spin slash" attack. She is located at Death Mountain, outside the crater to the left of the entrance, behind a bomb-able wall.
Great fairy of wisdom:This Great fairy doubles Link's magic meter. She is located inside the Death Mountain crater. Face the entrance to Goron City (inside the crater). A bridge will be to the right. Use the Megaton Hammer (obtained after passing the Fire Temple) to destroy the rocks blocking the entrance. Bombs will have no effect.
Great fairy of courage:This Great fairy doubles adult Link's defensive powers. She is located near Ganon's castle. Obtain the Golden Gauntlets inside Ganon's castle. Use them to lift the column that is blocking the entrance, which is to the right, when facing Ganon's tower.

Great fairy of magic:This great fairy is located between the two palm trees at the desert colossus. Use a bomb at the crack on the wall. She will give Link the "Nayru's Love" spell.
Great fairies:During the game Navi will turn green and want to signal something to you. Play the Sun's Song or the Song of Storms at that location. If there is a Great fairy, it will appear. Note: You cannot capture the fairy in an empty bottle.
Free fairies:Stand in front of a Gossip Stone and play Zelda's Lullaby and two or three fairies will come out of it. Gossip Stones can be found right in front or beside a temple or dungeon. Note: This may only be done once per Gossip Stone.
Plant a Magic Bean and then play the Song Of Storms as a child. The plant will grow and three fairies will come out.
Play the Song Of Storms in front of a Gossip Stone and a red Fairy will appear. Note: You cannot catch it.
As an adult, go back in to the Temple Of Spirits and die to get a Fairy.
Quick fairies:You can have up to four Bottles to do this trick. Play the Prelude Of Light to warp to the Temple of Time. Go outside and go right. You should see four Gossip Stones. Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of each one to catch a Fairy. You will now have four Fairies, and your heart meter will fill up whenever you die until you run out of Fairies. You can also use the "Multiple bottle" trick to get more by exiting to a different screen and returning.
Double defense from magic fairy:Get the Golden Gauntlets in Ganon's Castle. Then go outside the castle and go the your left. Go to the big black block and grab it. An intermission sequence will begin. Then, go in the small hole. Go on the Triforce and play Zelda's Lullaby. The Great Fairy will give you double your defense. Your Hearts should now have a white outline. This is very useful against Iron Knuckles and Ganondorf. Note: Link must be an adult.
Fairies fly or jump:Go to any Fairy Fountain and do a backflip. The fairies will "jump". Make a rolling attack and the fairies will fly down.
Big Poe locations:Big Poe locations are signified by a little Poe appearing when you are not on a horse. Their locations are as follows:

Overhang near Kakariko entrence.
Bush near northwest of field.

Look over the ledge to see a great view of Zora's fountain

Get to the top of the Spirit Temple:Once in the Spirit Temple and at the switching walls, use your longshot to snag the brick rectangle at the top of the wall.

In the Deku Tree, after cutting the giant spider web in the middle off the floor, go down the hole (where the web use to be located). Climb the block with the moon on it, and enter the hole in the wall. Crawl through the hole in the wall, go forward to a spider web, and burn it with a lit Deku stick. The will be a plant there. Kill it and use a bomb to blow up the cracked wall that was behind it. This will open to a room with a golden Skulltula, which was not on the map before.
Delay Deku Tree dying:After you defeat the first Boss(Qeen Ghoma) the Deku Tree dies. There is a way to delay this. Immediately after you defeat the Boss, save the game and turn off the Nintendo 64. Resume the game, and you will start in the entrance to the Deku Dungeon. Walk out and the Deku Tree will still be alive. However, Navi will want you to go back through the dungeon and come back out via the warp in the Boss area. If you do this, the Deku tree will go through his long explanation of Ganondorf -- and die and dries out as originally intended.
Make magic beans grow:Play the Song Of Storms next to a magic bean to make it grow.

Trading all the masks:
Fox MaskRoyal Guard at the edge of Kakariko Village on the way up to Death Mountain.
Skull MaskIn the Lost Forest. Enter the forest and move to the left. Hop on the tree stump while wearing the mask and play Saria's Song. The Skull Kid will then ask Link for the mask.

Mask of TruthWith this mask Link can talk to the "Gossip Stones" that have the eye on them. They will reveal helpful hints throughout the game.
Hatless man at the pond:Get very close to the man at the fishing pond and cast your line. It may take a couple of tries, but if you aim correctly you can steal his hat. If you can spare thirty rupees, walk out into the middle of the pond with the Iron Boots. Cast a few times, and his hat will come off. The man will be hatless for the rest of the game.
Shark at Lake Hylia:At Lake Hylia, go into the house where the old man lives. Put on the Iron Boots and Zora Tunic then jump into the pool in his house. Look to your left when underwater to see a shark in a cage.

Note: You will lose a heart piece, or half a heart depending if you saw the fairy that halves damage.
Run off a ledge so that Link jumps. While he is in the air, press B and he will take his sword out, making him go farther.
Silent running:Keep pressing Z while running to run faster and silently.

If done correctly, Link will be holding his sword next to his mouth, and it can be played as it were an ocarina. The notes will be strange, and you cannot use the different songs as though it were an actual ocarina.
Running man in Gerudo Valley:The running man will always beat you by one second no matter how fast you run.
Multiply bugs:Capture or buy a bug, then dump them on the ground. Three of them should appear. Use the same jar to capture the first bug. Bring out another jar and catch one of the other bugs that are on the ground. Repeat to multiply the number of bugs that have been captured. This is useful when hunting the Gold Skulltulas in the soft soil.
Coming down from Death Mountain:Talk to Capoera Gobera (the owl) when at the top of Death Mountain as a child. He will take you down the mountain.
Gossip Stones:The clock stones or stones that look like grave stones are actually useful. Use the Mask Of Truth and talk to it. Instead of telling you nothing, the stone reacts to your mask and it tells you some interesting things.
Gossip Stone blast off:Drop a bomb near a Gossip Stone. It will begin blinking blue and blast off into space. If the stone hits anything (such as the ceiling in a secret grotto), it will explode like a bomb.
Drop a bomb near a Gossip Stone and wait for it to explode. The stone will start blinking blue, blue, blue, red before launching. Hit the stone while it is blue to keep it at that color. To keep it red, wait until it flashes blue three times, then press B to hit it while it is gray.

Ending bonus:Successfully complete the game and wait at the "The End" screen. Eventually, the Scarecrow's Song will begin playing with different instruments.
Extra challenge:To add to the challenge of completing the game, try skipping almost all of the heart-extending power-ups gained from defeating the Bosses. For example, you may want to win and save a game where you have beaten Gannon with a life meter with a maximum capacity of five hearts. For a very serious challenge, try completing the game without picking up any life-extending heart containers.
Exploring the underwater cave in Zora's Domain :Enter Zora's Domain as a child. Go up to the Zora that offers the diving game for twenty rupees. Talk to him and play the game. After diving in the water swim to the right, to the ladder. Climb the ladder and wait for the diving game timer to run out. When it reaches one, jump off. If Link is in the air when time runs out, he will hit the water and sink to the bottom. After reaching the bottom, he can swim into the little cave (which is empty).
Keep Fire Room pathway from sinking:The main pathway in the Fire Room of Ganon's Castle can be kept from sinking. Equip the Hover Boots and instead of jumping onto the main pathway, roll onto it. You will hover over it, then come down onto it. The main pathway will not sink. To keep it in this state, keep the Hover Boots equipped and always roll onto the to the main pathway when returning.

A Deku Shrub will begin shooting at Link as he walks under the bridge. Defeat him to gain the ability to hold twenty Deku Sticks.
Save Deku Sticks:You do not have to let a Deku Stick burn out after setting it on fire. Put it away before it burns out by selecting another weapon that you have ready to use. For example, if you have a burning stick that is equipped with C-Right, press C-Down or C-Left button before it burns out to get that weapon and put the stick away. This will save that stick from burning out and allow you to have the same amount of sticks.
Super Deku Stick:Place a Deku Stick in Link's hand and jump off a cliff. While falling, swing the stick against the cliff wall to break it. The piece that remains in Link's hand can be used repeatedly, and is stronger than most swords in the game. Note: This super stick will disappear when you switch items, leave an area, or dive in the water.
Catch fish in bottle for free:You can catch a fish in a bottle without paying. Just go to any secret grotto or the area of Zora's Domain to the right of the store. There are fish swimming there. Just swing the bottle at the fish and it will be caught.
After hours shopping:Try this trick if you have completed the game and want to try something new. Enter a shop that has a door (and not one that can be simply walked in). Play the Sun's Song and to be inside the store at night, when it would normally open in the morning.
Destiny revealed:At any point in the game, go to Link's home in Kokiri Forest. If you look closely at the base of the tree to the left of the ladder, you will see a picture. It is a picture of young Link fighting Kind Dodongo, the Boss of Death Mountain.
Easy way past the Gerudo:To knock out a Gerudo thief, simply shoot her with an arrow. To freeze her, use the hookshot or longshot.

Raising the water in the Water Temple:In the Water Temple, there is a section where you have to push a block into some water to raise the water level. An easier way to do this is use the Iron Boots. Jump into the water and stand on the switch. Get very close to the edge and switch to your normal boots. Resume the game and immediately hold Forward to swim. It looks as if you will not make it, but he will jump up to the ledge at the last second.

Facing Zelda, from the entrance, go over to the window at the left from the entrance. With the Fairy Slingshot, shoot a few Deku Seeds at that window and one of the King's guards will stick his head out of the window. He will say " Hey, you, stop making noise out there!". After that he will throw a lit bomb in your direction and disappear. Run if you are low on health. Note: This trick cannot be done if you have gotten the Gorons' Ruby, and can only be done once.

Target practice on a Flying Tektite:Go to Lake Hylia, then take the Megaton Hammer out and pound it on the ground to make the Tektite flip upside down. Note: The Tektite has to be on the water. Then, stun it with your Hookshot. When it is no longer stunned you will see it flying into the air. Use your bow to shoot it and the Tektite will fall on the ground. If you do this without the bow it will look funny to see it flying into the air.
Use shield in water:Hop into any body of water where you can swim. Hold Z + R to take out your shield. You can now swim around with your shield.
Hit Link with boulders:When going up Death Mountain to see the first Great Fairy, equip the Kokori Shield. When the boulders start falling, pause the game and equip the Hylian Shield. Press Start and holdR. When Link appears again, he will be equipped with the Hylian Shield, but will not be bent over. Instead he squats down, as if he is holding the Kokori Shield. When the boulders come down, they will hit Link, but they will bounce off as if they were hitting the Hylian Shield.
Squatting Link:Warp to the Lost Woods as an adult. Kill the Moblins that stand in your way to get to the ladder that takes you to the Fairy Fountain. Climb the ladder, and go down the hole to the fountain. Walk towards the square that takes you back to the woods one step at a time. It is crucial that you move slowly, step by step. If you did not go too far and warp out, it will appear that Link is squatting. Try this trick with various tunics.
Hold R with the Deku shield equipped. Keep holding R and press Start. Equip the Hylian shield. Go back to the game and Link will be holding out his arm as if he were holding the Deku shield.
Diving Link:After entering Zora's Domain as an Adult, go to the top of the waterfall where as a child you received the Silver Scale. Jump off and Link will dive into the ice. Note: This only works once, so do not save.

Matrix-style move:This trick can only be done after you have the boomerang. Whenever you kill a Gold Skulltula and the gold skull token appears, Z-target it and throw your boomerang. When it snags it, immediately before your boomerang returns to you, do a backflip. Link will bend over backwards as if he were dodging bullets.
Finding the royal family tomb:Go to the Kakariko Village graveyard in the daytime as a child. Then, go to the hill in the back with the large grave stone. Stand on the Hylian Seal (the Triforce) that is etched in the ground. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Fairy Ocarina. Lightning will flash and the grave stone will explode, leaving a hole that is entrance to the royal family tomb.
Go to the cemetery and approach the Royal Tomb. Stand on the Triforce mark on the ground and play Zelda's Lullaby. The tomb will open and you must jump in. Shoot the bats with your slingshot and a door will open. Enter it. There are three Bosses here. They cannot be stunned because they are undead. They will freeze you, jump on you, and suck the life out of you. To prevent this, carry a bottle of Lon Lon milk. They will freeze you at least once. Repeatedly slice them to kill them. You do not have to kill all of them too pass. Also, if they fall into the acid pits they cannot get out, but the acid only hurts you. Dash to the other door across the room to find an inscription and the Sun Song. You will not be teleported out. You must fight your way back because the bosses regenerate after you leave the room. Escape and use the Sun Song to change day to night and night to day.
Finding the Forest stage:To find the Forest Stage, go to the Lost Woods and go right, left, right, left, and left. Pass the Business Scrubs to reach the grassy area. Go to where the butterflies are flying and search there to find and fall into a hidden hole. Wear any mask down in that location to get different items. If Link gets shot by nuts, exit, then go back down for another result.
Quicker transportation:After you get the last spiritual stone, go back to Lake Hylia and swim to the island with the big tree. Go up the bridge and you will find the owl. Talk to himm and he says he will give you a ride to the castle. Accept his offer. When he puts you down, it will go from bright daylight to stormy night. You will then watch Impa and Zelda flee from the castle.
Avoid sinking platform in Ganon's Tower:Enter Ganon's Tower and find the Fire Stage. If you equip the Hover Boots, the large platform will not begin sinking when you step on it.
Fly over Kakariko Village:As and adult, get the Longshot and go on top of a roof in Kakariko village that is near the windmill. When looking through the first person view with the Longshot, you can see a small stake in the opening. Use your Longshot to hook it and pull yourself inside the windmill. Go up the stairs to find a chicken. Pick it up and jump out the window with it. You are now flying over Kakariko village. After some practice, you should be able to fly right out of town.
Go higher than windmill in Kakariko Village:In Kakariko Village, you can go higher than the top of the windmill. As an adult, use your Longshot to go on the roof of Impa's house. Use your Hover Boots, and you can cross to the cliff just over the entrance of the village.
Inside the windmill in Kakariko Village:There is a secret hole in the windmill which you can enter. First, climb up the watchtower. Using the Longshot, shoot down to the blue roof when a man is sitting. From the roof, go as close as you can to the edge nearest to the windmill. An attachable target is around the bottom left corner. Hookshot there, and you will be inside the windmill on the Kakariko village map. The only thing in there is a staircase and Cucco. You can use the Cucco to fly over to Impa's house to get some milk from the cow.
Good view in Kakariko Village:Take out your Longshot or Hookshot and shoot at one of the roofs. You can go from roof to roof this way. If you want a good view, go on the dummy window on Impa's house (the house that is on the far right when you enter) by using the Hookshot or Longshot to go on the roof. Then, press C-Up and look around.
Lookout tower man in Kakariko Village:The man on the lookout tower in Kakariko Village will say that he always has to be up the highest and hates people who are higher than him. There is a way to get higher than him. Go to Kakariko Village as an adult and use the hookshot to get to the high opening in the windmill. Walk up to the place with the chicken, and if you look at the man on the lookout you will be at a higher elevation the him.
Reach the wooden ledge in Kakariko Village:When you are a child, go to the top of Death Mountain and talk to Capora Gabora, the owl. He will fly you down to the wooden ledge behind the house in Kakariko Village. Go into the hole and get the Heart Piece. You can also play Epona's Song to get Lon Lon milk in an empty bottle from the cow.
Followed by dog in castle market:As a child, go to the Hyrule castle market at night. Let a dog follow you then play the Sun's Song to go to day. The same dog will be following you. Nobody will notice it, but if you go in a place such as a shop or the Temple Of Time the dog will disappear.
Also, after getting the dog to follow you, play the Sun's Song. Go up to its owner and you can listen to her talking about the dog that is not there. You can also try this with other dogs.
Get on pedestal in Temple Of Time:While you are in the Temple Of Time, you can jump on to the pedestal thing with the stones. Get close and hold Z. Then, press A. If done correctly, you will be on the pedestal with the stones.
Never get lost in the Lost Woods:Try this trick to avoid all of those exit portals in the Lost Woods (the giant log tunnels that warp Link back out). First, fire child Link's slingshot or boomerang (or Long Shot if playing as an adult) into an exit portal. If it is an exit portal (a dead end), you will hear your projectile ricochet off something solid. Or, to save ammunition, just turn up the brightness on your screen and look at the color of the portal. All of the plain black portals are "safe" and will not warp you back out of the Lost Woods.
If you see what looks like a flat black sheet, it is safe to go through. However, if you see a portal that looks like a very long hall way leading away then it is not safe.
When you enter through Kokiri Forest go in the following directions: right, left, right, left, up, left, right. To get past Mido when you are an adult, play Saria's Song.
You can navigate throgh the Lost Woods without ending up back outside. If it is a hole that goes outside, get close to it. You will see a faded light. Go to the ones that are completely black. You can find warps to other places like Zora's River or Goron City.
Crossing the River of Sand:Either aim your Longshot at a crate on the other side of the river or wear the Hover Boots and just walk across.
Warp from dungeon to dungeon:Note: You must have Farore's Wind to do this trick. Place a warp point in any dungeon. You can now warp there from any dungeon. You do not even have to be in the same dungeon as the warp point. Note: Warp points will disappear if you travel between the past and future.
Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link references:All of the Sages (Darunia, Ruto, Saria, Nabooru, and Rauru) except Impa and Zelda have the names of towns that appear in Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link on the NES.
In addition to the sages, the villagers at Link's Deku homeland have the names of the towns in Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link.
Getting the Scarecrow Song:As a child, go to Lake Hylia and talk to the scarecrow named Bruno. Show him your ocarina and he will want you to play a song -- you make up the song. Play until he says that will remember it. Then, play the Temple Of Light song and turn into an adult. Go to where the scarecrow is located and play him the same song as before to get the Scarecrow Song.
Frog Song:Go to Zora's River, walk on the log that Navi points out to you, then play all the songs (Saria's Song, Song of Storms, Zelda's Lullaby and the other songs that do not warp. After that, when they ask you to play a song to feed them (each frog represents a different note) quickly play these notes: AC-LeftC-RightC-DownC-LeftC-RightC-DownAC-DownAC-DownC-RightC-LeftA. You will then get a heart piece.

Playing the Ocarina while running around on the field:First, choose a song (in the list on your status screen). Immediately after you press A to play the song, hold Analog-stick Up. You must then press B(2) to exit the pause screen. You can now run around and press the C buttons and A to play your Ocarina.
Kill the rolling Goron:To kill the giant rolling Goron in Goron City, bomb him about ten times. After the ninth bombing, he will grunt and the other Goron's will run out to kill you. Note: The rolling Goron can not be killed if the bomb bag has already been obtained from him.
One hit kills in Ice Cavern:Use Din's Fire for a one hit kill for anything, including the wolves. Make sure you have a lot of magic.
Defeating Business Scrubs:When business scrubs try to make a deal with you, simply hit the ground (not the platform) and all the Scrubs will be easily defeated.
To make a Business Scrub stop firing at you, just hit the ground with the Megaton Hammer.
Defeating Dark Link:During the battle with the Dark Link in the Water Temple, press Z to lock on to him, then press Forward + B to jab at him until he is defeated.
The best way to kill Dark Link is with the Megaton Hammer. When you enter the room, go to the far end and turn around. Dark Link will be waiting. When the battle starts, do not lock onto him. Instead, equip the Megaton Hammer. Use the Megaton Hammer when Dark Link is close during the battle.
An alternate strategy is to get close to him and use Din's Fire until he is defeated.
The absolute fastest way to kill Dark Link is to use the jabbing method (lock on to him, then press Forward + B) continuously while using the Biggoron's Sword. If done correctly and fast enough, he will die before he starts attacking Link.
Start the battle with at least one fairy and the Biggorn Sword. Lock on to Dark Link and pressZ + B to stab him. Continue to do this until Dark Link is defeated. Stay away from him when he attacks because you cannot block with the Biggorn Sword.
If you stab at Dark Link (Z-target and press B), he will jump onto your sword. After he does this a few times, he will start to hit you. A good way to kill him is to keep attacking nonstop, mixing overhead swings (Forward + B) and horizontal swings (Side + B). Eventually, Dark Link will drop his guard and you will score a hit.
While facing Dark Link, equip the Biggoron's Sword before you enter the room. Enter and after you see Dark Link, Z-target him and move the Analog-stick Down/Back. Then. strike him by moving forward and pressing B. Repeat this and you should be done in no time.
Do not use Z-targeting. He does everything you do, and that includes Z-targeting. Instead, just fight normally, and when you jab with ZT, he just stands on your sword and hits you. It will be a fairer fight without him locking on to you no matter what.
You will need the Green Potion and Din's Fire. Stand still, Z-target him, and raise your shield. When he comes near, use Din's Fire. He will disappear, and appear behind you. Repeat this until you run out of magic. Drink your Green Potion, hit him once more, and he will die.
Dark Link copies your sword and shield attacks and evades everything else except the Megaton Hammer. It always hits Dark Link. You can also use Din's Fire if you have the MP.
Lock on him and shoot with an arrow. He will dodge it and roll towards you, however he will roll back immediately. To take advantage of this, shoot an arrow and immediately take out the Biggoron Sword and hit him. After this, he will repeatedly come up to you and stand there until hit.
When you venture close to Dark Link, he will most often backflip away. Keep using your jump attack and you will eventually catch him. After that, repeat the process until you defeat him.
The easiest way to defeat Dark Link is with the Megaton Hammer. Although he mimics your moves, he is not as swift as he would like to be. Since he does mimic you, get directly in his face. He will not hit you because you are not hitting him. Without Z-targeting him, hit him with the hammerHe will pop up behind you after he is hit. Quickly turn around and repeat. You should be able to take him out without getting hit.
Get Dark Link to start fighting you. Get to some distance from him, then let him approach. Wait until he starts madly slashing you, then smash him vertically with the Megaton Hammer. He will go straight through the ice. Turn around and he will be running towards you again. As soon as he gets to you, smash him again. Turn around again. Again, he will be approaching you. Repeat the same tactic about five times and you will defeat him.
Using this trick, you can defeat Dark Link in the Water Temple without getting hit. Before you fight him, make sure that you have a Broken Giant's Knife. Equip the Iron Boots and the Broken Giant's Knife. When he begins to attack, notice that neither of you can move very easily, disabling the CPU's ability to dodge most of your attacks. Also, since the Giant's Knife is a two-handed sword, they cannot use their shields. The sword is too short for the CPU to have Dark Link jump on; continuously thrust the sword at him (forward and attack). He will not be able to move in time and will not be able to guard against it. Note that once yuo hit him, he reappears by the tree in the center of the room -- keep your guard up. This is a very good strategy if you are doing the Three Heart quest. If you do not have a Giant's Knife and are not able to hold 200 rupees, you can use Din's Fire, if available. Make sure that he is not doing a back flip when you start it, or he will end up too far away to hit. Also, if you need some time to strategize, you can trap him on the other side of the tree.
A very easy way to defeat Dark Link in the water temple is take out the Megaton Hammer and Z-target him. Simply hit him with it and he will fall into the ground and reappear. Do this another four or five times to defeat him.
Do not focus on Dark Link using Z. Instead, just aim in his general direction and repeatedly press B. Dark Link has a difficult time predicting your moves without Z. After ten to fifteen slashing attempts and slips up, you will hit him.
Use the Deku Nuts to paralyze him, then hit him with the Biggoron Sword or Megaton Hammer. It will not be necessary to cover yourself. By doing this, you will have twenty free hits, which is more than enough for a sure win.
Defeating Ganon:Note: The following strategy is for defeating "Ganon" the Monster, not "Ganondorf the Great King of Evil". Equip the Megaton Hammer then run at Ganon. When he raises his arm to slice you or hit you with his sword, immediately roll between his legs. Then Z-lock his tail and use the jump attack. This strategy works when you get the Master Sword back from past the Ring Of Fire.
Fire a light arrow at his face to singe his eyes. When you can hit him, run around him, hit his tail with the Biggoron's sword, and run with him. Hit him as you run around. Try to stay behind him or underneath him.
For a harder challenge, try to defeat Ganon without using any magic from your magic meter, wear the hover boots during the fight, and use a broken giants knife as the only weapon.
When you are fighting the last battle with Mutant Ganon, you do not need to use a sword. You can instead use the Light Arrow on his tail. Paralyze him first or sneak behind him, then shoot.
When fighting Mutant Ganon, run to the blocks at the edge of the arena and have Ganon break them. If you are lucky, fairies will appear from of one of the blocks.
Use the following trick to beat Ganon the huge pig beast. Make sure you have at least two green potions and thirty Deku Nuts. Use Naryu's Love and you will be invincible. After using the spell, just run around Ganon and start throwing nuts at him. The first one will stun him and give you time to circle around him and throw another nut at his tail. This will hurt him. Also, you can use the hookshot to stun him by shooting it into his face. Try any other items that you want to.
To help defeat Ganon at the end of the game after you retrieve the Master Sword, you can throw Deku Nuts to stun him. When you do this, make sure you are close enough to get behind him to attack his tail with the sword, because this only stuns him for a few seconds. You can also throw a Deku Nut at his tail.
When Link and Zelda run through the castle and escape, you will see the castle falling down. You hear a noise. Walk up to the rubble and Ganondorf will appear and change into Ganon. He will knock your Master Sword away. Equip the Megaton Hammer, or even better, the Biggoron's Sword if you managed to get it. When he is about to hit you, roll between his legs and hit his tail. Just follow him around in a circle when you are behind him. Hit him on the tail for to six times. He will fall to his knees. Grab your Master Sword from where Zelda is located. Ganon will rise again and become quicker. Equip your Light Arrows and shoot him in the head. Then, when he is stunned, hit his tail with your Master Sword. An easier technique is to simply roll between his legs when he is about to attack you. Hit his tail again with the Master Sword. Do this about nine times and he will fall down. Deliver the final hit when Zelda tells you to.
While fighting Ganon, you do not need the Light Arrows. As soon as he is close to you he will do a spear/sword combo. Just roll under his legs, find his tail quickly, and lunge with the Biggoron Sword or Megaton Hammer. Do not be afraid of getting close to him -- if you are behind his fist when he does the slash with his sword, you will be fine.
Use the following trick to dodge Ganon's dangerous sword slash attack. It is recommended for more experienced players. When Ganon swings his huge double bladed sword at you, wait until the sword is a few feet away then do a backflip. You should be able to backflip over the attack.
Shoot his hand with an Ice Arrow. He will try to free his hand by hitting it with his other hand. You can then go for his tail.
When you are running down the side of Gannon's castle, you can equip the Hover Boots or Kokori Boots (recommended). When you get to the point where you meet up with the Stalfos, have the Big Goron Sword equipped. This will inflict more damage, and will cut your battle time in half. You will be awarded with a number of hearts. When facing Gannon, have the Master Sword equipped and proceed to the rubble. Gannon will come out and change into a huge monster with two swords. His attack are the same each time. He will lift up his two swords to swing at you. Run towards him, roll under his legs, and attack his tail. When you lose the Master Sword, take out the Big Goron Sword, Hammer, or Bombs, and proceed. When you lose the Master Sword, he will become slightly faster. Simply run a little faster and repeat.
Use the following trick if you are low on arrows and magic. When Ganon is about to attack, he stands up legs open, giving you the perfect opportunity to roll under and do a quick spin.
Defeating Phantom Ganon:He will first get on a horse and ride into one of the paintings. He will then appear and fire an electric bolt at Link. He also has a duplicate, so it is easy to get confused. To tell them apart, the real one has a battle ax. After you do this three times, he will jump of his horse and fight Link. He will fire an energy ball at you. You can dodge it, but must kill him with your sword. No items will hurt him -- to kill him you must reflect the energy at him. Hit it with your sword and it will bounce back and hopefully hit him. However, he can also hit it back. When he falls, slice him with your sword and repeat until he is defeated.
When you have gotten him off his horse, Z-target him, then attack the magic that he uses. If it goes back and hits him, stop Z-targeting. Run there and attack him with your sword. If done correctly, you while be able to hit him four times instead of just two.
After you engage in battle with Phantom Ganon at the Forest Temple and he enters the pictures on the wall, quickly run over to the ropes around the side of the platform on which you are standing. As long as you are against the ropes, Phantom Ganon cannot hurt you when he attacks. This includes when he is riding the horse through the pictures, or when he is floating around in the air. Note: The only exception to this is when he uses the attack that looks like fireworks. When he starts the attack and begins to fly toward you, just scale left or right along the ropes so that he misses you, then continue fighting.
Finding items when fighting Ganon:If you are low on arrows, magic power, hearts, and other items in the last battle with the mutant Ganon, some of the Debra that are lying around contain items. Lure Ganon over to one and hide behind it. Ganon will smash it with his sword and the items will come floating out.
Ganon's castle's sinking floor:In the fire room in Ganon's castle, the floor sinks while you are on it. To keep it from sinking, equip the Hover Boots while walking on it.
Defeating Ganondorf:When Ganondorf creates a gap on the floor when you are fighting him, do not jump it and lose valuable hitting time. Instead, before entering the room with Ganondofr, equip the Hover Boots. Then, when he is down on the floor after playing "Tennis" with him, fly across using your hover boots and swing your sword at him. Doing this saves valuable time and it is quicker and easier then jumping across and waiting for Link to land.
Make sure you have the Longshot and Light Arrows equipped. Three bottled fairies are not required, but they can be very useful. Big fairies are also useful, because they can restore your magic. When you reach the room where Ganondorf plays the organ, move to a far corner after he talks to you. While at that location, deflect his shots with the Master Sword. When he is hit, shoot him with a Light Arrow. He can now be targeted. Do so, then use the Longshot to reach him quickly to hit him with the Master Sword. As soon as he gets up again, move back to the corner. If you run low on magic, go to the lower level and break the bottles for more.
You can hit Ganondorf with the Light Arrow when he is charging up for his super fireball.
On the first stage, hit him with the Light Arrow then hit him with the Big Sword or Megaton hammer. After two to four hits you will have him on his knees. When fighting Ganon on the second stage, you do not have to use the Light Arrows -- after he swings his sword at you, roll under his knees and strike him with the Megaton Hammer or The Big Sword. Repeat this until you get the Master Sword. After you get the sword, do the same thing but do not wait to strike. Z-target his tail so you see it, and strike about six to nine times.
Make sure you have the Biggoron's Sword and the defensive power-up (with the Golden Gauntlets, go out of Ganon's Castle, then go left to find a group of rocks, then a giant rock. Lift that rock and play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce in the room ahead). After getting the defensive power-up, go back to Ganondorf. He will use three different attacks. His first one, no matter what you do, is where he gathers a little bit of power and slams the ground with his fist. You cannot deflect this. In another attack, he shoots a single fireball at you. Deflect it with your sword, the Megaton Hammer, or a bottle. When he gathers lots of power and fires many fireballs at you, use the Biggoron's Sword. Hold B and wait until the power around the sword is yellow/orange. Then, release it when you are about to be hit by the fireballs. If timed correctly, they will all be deflected and you will have escaped unscathed. Some of the deflected fireballs will have hit Ganondorf, and you can continue the battle as usual. When you have killed him, escape the tower with Zelda, and eventually you will fight Ganon. To defeat him easily, make sure you have Nayru's Love. Use Nayru's Love, then take out your Biggoron's Sword. Roll under Ganon's legs, and slash his tail. Make sure that you have seven Fairies. You can get rid of your Deku Sticks, Zelda's Note, the Claim Check, the Faerie Slingshot, and the Boomerang, since you will not need them from Ganon's Castle onwards.
Deflect his magic with a bottle then quickly hop into the middle platform and use Din's Fire. Repeat this three or four times.
Stay in one corner of the room and hit Ganondorf's magic back at him by swinging your sword until it hits him. Quickly fire a Light Arrow at him and use your Hover Boots to cross over to him. Attack him. As soon as he rises into the air, run back and repeat this process.
First, equip the Hover Boots and the Big Goron Sword. The Big Goron Sword will give you a little extra reach when Gannondorf throws the electric ball. When Gannondof pounds the ground the first time, immediately run to a solid stone in one of the corners. This piece of rock will not fall no matter how many times he hits the ground. When he throws an electric ball at you and you finally manage to hit him, immediately hit him with a Light Arrow. Run to his platform (not Hookshot) and strike him. When he starts to resist your hitsm run back to your corner. The Hover Boots will provide you with all the power needed to get back on the ledge. If done correctly, he will never knock down another piece of platform. When he gathers the black energy orb, do not run. Just hit him with a Light Arrow; this will prevent him from throwing it at you.
When Ganondorf charges up the attack that shoots many magic balls at Link, quickly shoot a Light Arrow at him. He will not block the Light Arrow.
Deflecting Ganondorf's attacks:The sword, Megaton Hammer, or bottles can be used to deflect Ganondorf's fireballs.
After deflecting Ganondorf's small lightning balls a few times (and weakening him), he will power-up a gigantic lightning orb. He will throw it, and several small ones will fly in all directions toward you. There will be no way to deflect all of them, so you are most likely to get hit with five or six of them if you run. To deflect all of them back to Ganondorf, you will have to charge up for a magic sword spin attack. It takes timing, just like for the smaller orbs. It is a fairly easy task to most players. It would also be wise to use the Biggoron sword to do more damage.
Although mirror shield does block all the fireballs Ganondorf shoots, you can avoid this situation entirely by simply hitting him with Light Arrows before he shoots.
Defeating Gerudos:The Hookshot or Longshot is required for this trick. Have Link go to Gerudo Fortress before he gets permission to move around freely without getting caught. To get there quicker, use Epona. Walk up the stairs at the very entrance to Gerudo Fortress. There should be a group of Gerudo Guards patrolling the area. The guards are the Gerudos in the purple outfits. Use your Hookshot or Longshot to stun one of the Gerudos. It should make the same sound as when you hit a ReDead or Tektite, and she should turn blue and have stars above her head. Quickly run over to the same Gerudo Guard and slash her with your sword. She should topple over on the ground just like how ReDeads die, only slightly faster. The Gerudo Guard will just lay there, supposedly dead. The other Guards will catch you and put you in jail. You can get out by using the Hookshotor Longshot. Note: When you enter a doorway of the Gerudo's Fortress or exit that location in any way, the Gerudo that you "killed" will somehow come back to life.
Defeating Gohma:When inside the Great Deku Tree, fighting the Boss Gohma, bring a full Slingshot and about five to ten Deku Nuts. When you enter, hit her with a Deku Seed from the Slingshot. Then, hit her with your sword. When she tries to go on the roof of the battlefield, hit her with another Deku Seed from the Slingshot. If you happen to run out of Deku Seeds, when she is on the ground use a Deku Nut. After about six to nine hits, she will die and you will get a Heart Container.
Throw Deku Nuts at him. They will stun him, just as a slingshot would.
Wait for Gohma to climb to the ceiling. Take out your slingshot and shoot its eye while it lays eggs. It will fall, stunned. Slash at it until it is dead. It will not move, allowing you to take your time.
Defeating Giant Guay:To get the Giant Guay, get to the top of the lakeside laboratory where the heart piece is found. A Gauy should appear and attack. Kill it. About ten seconds, later another one will appear. Kill it. Keep killing the Guays until like about fifteen to twenty have been defeated. Then a huge Guay about three times normal size should appear. This one is very slow. Kill it and you will be rewarded a red ruby, which is worth 20 Rupees.
Defeating Dead Hand:Allow one of the hands to grab you and the monster will appear. Move the Analog-stick to break free, then slice him. Continue until it is defeated.
Defeating Dodongo:To defeat Dodongo in Dodongo's cavern, throw a bomb in his mouth, then strike him with your sword. Repeat this three or four times.
Before going into Dodongo's cavern, equip yourself with a Hylian shield by buying it at the Bazaar shop in the Castle Market, or by pulling the grave with the flowers in the Kokoira Grave Yard. When the King Dodongo rolls at you, press R to put up the Hylian shield. You will duck under it and be unaffected, unless he shoots fire at you.
When he rolls at you, just go against the wall and chase him. When he gets ready to breath fire, throw a bomb in his mouth and hit him with your sword. Repeat this three or four times until he is defeated.
King Dodongo is very easy to defeat. Take a hand held bomb or Bombflower and throw them into his mouth. Then, run at is head and slash him with your sword a few times when he is reddish and he will lose some of his life, Do this about three or four times to defeat him.
Defeating Bongo Bongo:Get the Biggoron's sword and the Eye Of Truth so you can see him. First, hit his hands with arrows (you may still keep the Eye Of Truth on). Then hit his eye ball to stun him. Slash violently and repeat these step. Z target his hands, then shoot your arrows.
Defeating Iron Knuckles:An easier way to defeat the Iron knuckles (big enemies with big axes) is to first target him. Then, just as he swings, do a back flip. Then do a lunge attack as he finishes his swing. If he does a double swing, just wait for him to finish his second swing, and quickly do a lunge attack. If you get hit, try to lure him to hit a pillar or his chair. If he hits the chair or pillar, then hearts will appear. The only Iron Knuckle on which this strategy will work on is the one faced before the two witch sisters.
An easy way to defeat an Iron Knuckle is to use Nayru's Love. Then Z-target and keep slashing him with your sword. He will still able to knock you back with his ax, but it will not hurt you. To get out of the way of the ax, just use backflips or a sidejump.
Z-target him and just keep firing Bombuchus at him. You need at least 50 Bombuchus to defeat him.
Use the Big Goron sword. Dodge its heavy ax swings, then counter-attack with slashes or jump attacks.
If you have the Big Goron sword, this will be easier. When you first activate the Iron Knuckle, keep hitting him with your sword by pressing B. This paralyzes him for a second or two, but do not back away. Do not is jump attack him.
Do a jump attack then immediately back flip. Keep repeating those moves.
Defeating Morpha:He will summon a water arm to search for you. When Morpha does this, it will also appear in a separate tube of water. Using your Longshot. grab onto the red orb to bring it out of the water. Continue until it is defeated. Note: Near the end Morphia will send out another arm and sometimes three arms other than itself. Back up into a corner if this happens.
When fighting the boss of the Water Temple, Morpha, you can use Din's Fire to destroy the water arms it sends out and, if it is close to you, make it jump out of the water so you can hit it. This is especially useful if an arm got you and another one is waiting to snare you after you get the first arm off.
Defeating Queen Ghoma:While battling Queen Ghoma in the first dungeon, "Inside the Deku Tree", notice that Navi says "Her eye is vulnerable when its red." You can stun her by shooting her eye with your slingshot when her eye is red. Also notice that her eye is red while she is preparing to lay eggs while hanging from the ceiling. Shoot her down before she lays her eggs.
When her eye turns red, just walk up to her and throw a Deku Nut at her. The slingshot is unnecessary here. Her eye should turn green, Hit her with your sword. Remember that the Ajump attack does double damage. When she is on the ceiling, wait for her eggs to drop. When they drop, walk up to each one of them, stand as close as you can without touching it, and hit it with your sword. When you destroy all the eggs, Ghohma will drop down again. Repeat this strategy.
When starting off, throw a Deku Nut at it and slash it (Z-target it, press B to equip the sword and press A) a couple of times. Then, when it is going to lay eggs, wait until it is about to approach the middle of the ceiling. Immediately take out the slingshot and shoot it in the eye. This will cause it to fall on the ground. Then, finish it off by slashing it the last few times.
When you first get in to her chambers, use C-Up to look for her red eye. You should have as many Deku Nuts as you can carry. Before you enter her chambers, get the 40 seed bag. Run up to her and stun her with a Deku Nut. While she is stunned, hit her with your sword. She will move up to the ceiling. While she is doing that, back up and pull out the Sling Shot. Shoot the Gohmas that appear with it. Repeat this until she is defeated.
Defeating Twinrova:When the fight begins, they will fly around and take shots at you. Use the Mirror Shield to reflect an attack into the other witch -- Ice into Fire, Fire into Ice. After you do this four times to each witch, they will combine into one. Twinrova (the large witch) will fly around, firing blasts of ice and fire. Absorb a type three times with your mirror shield and you will release a blast of energy. Hit her, and then cut her with your sword. Note: If you absorb two different types of energy, the incoming blast will hurt you.
You must have both Fire and Ice Arrows. When Kome the fire witch charges, fire an Ice Arrow. When Kotake charges, fire a Fire Arrow. This may not always work. Note: Bring a Green Potion and a Fairy.
Defeating Volglava:After hitting Volglava on the head two times with the Megaton Hammer, he will do one of two things: fly around the room screaming, which causes earthquakes, or chase after you breathing fire. If he chases you, Z-target his head and bombard him with arrows.
When you start, the dragon will fly around and breathe fire at Link. You can stop this by firing an arrow at its head. It will fly back to a hole. It will appear from the ground and swing its head at you. After that, hit it on the head with the Megaton Hammer. It will appear again and drop boulders from the sky, then fly back down. Continue until it is defeated.
When Volglava comes out of one of the lava pits, go to him and hit him with the Megaton Hammer. After that Volglava, will either chase you or fly up and throw rocks down at you. You can avoid this by moving to the edge of the platform and go down. This will cause Link to hang at the edge. Press Analog-stick Down and Link will go down as if he was going down a ladder. Go down about two steps to avoid the attacks. When he goes back down to one of the lava pits, go back up and hit him with the Megaton Hammer. Repeat until Volglava has been defeated.
First, hit Volglava with the Megaton Hammer then your sword until it goes back into its hole. Next, go to the cliff part of the little "island" you are on until Link hangs. Instead of the dragon breathing fire at you, it will go straight back to its hole, letting you hit it when it pops its head back up. You can also have Link go on the cliff when Volglava uses its boulder attacks. Repeat the process, and you should have a much easier time defeating this Boss.
When Volglava comes up and flies around, or when he makes rocks fall, crawl down the side to avoid his attacks.
Defeating Wolf:When fighting the wolf creature by the Sacred Forest Meadow, hit him once in the back and he will die.
Defeating Bosses:When the Boss is stunned, quickly take off Z targeting and go up to the Boss. The head works the best. Rapidly press B to quickly defeat the Boss. Note: This will not work on every Boss.
Dodge the Fire Temple Boss:To dodge the Fire Temple Boss get on a ledge and do not fall. This is also good when dodging rocks.
Defeating the Stalfos in Shadow Temple:When in the Shadow Temple and fighting against the Stalfos on the platform, hold on to the edge of the platform, as if you are about to fall off. The Stalfos will try to make a jump attack for you. Since you are not on the platform, it jumps off and dies.
Goron attack:Approach the giant rolling Goron on the second floor of Goron City, and repeatedly bomb him. After approximately the tenth bomb, he will scream and all of the other Gorons will rush out of their hiding places to attack Link. The Goron's will not chase Link if he enters another area.
Avoid skeletons while in Hyrule Field:The skeletons in Hyrule Field will not chase Link if he wears the bunny hood, or walks on dirt trails for softer footsteps.
Giant skeleton:Go to Hyrule Field at night and kill approximately fifteen skeletons. A giant skeleton should appear.
When Link is a child, play the Sun Song to turn it into night. This is not necessary, but it makes it faster. Wait outside the castle and kill every skeleton that attacks you very quickly. It helps to Z-target them, then hit them twice with your sword. After about fifteen, a skeleton larger than the others will appear. He takes only two hits to kill and will give you four blue rupees. Keep killing the skeletons as they appear. The twentieth one will be twice the size of the other big one. If you act quickly enough, you should have enough time to deliver two hits before the cuckoo crows. This will kill him and result in three red rupees.
Combo swings:Press the D-pad in all directions while swinging your sword. Your opponents will not be able to get a hit most of the time.
Double the sword damage:To cause twice as much damage to an enemy, take out Link's sword (so he is holding it in his hand), hold Z (Z-target) and press A so that he jumps into the air and hits the target. This is especially helpful when fighting a Boss, and you want to cut the battle time in half.
Fighting the Aqua Cell guard:In Gerudo Valley, while fighting the guard that patrols the Aqua Cell, Enter the prison next to the cell. Link can hit her but can not be hit back from this location.
Matrix-style fighting in the Water Temple:Get to where you fight Dark Link. Use Z-targeting to lock onto him. Get as close to him as possible then press Analog-stick Forward and B to stab. If done correctly, Dark Link will jump, and Link will stab, however both will be frozen on the screen for a few seconds. Note: This trick can be unsafe, because you are frozen for slightly longer than Dark Link, and he may take this time to get a cheap shot on you.
Use bow with Epona:When your an adult and are riding Epona, press B to equip your arrows. Then press Z to unequip -- the bow will still be in your hand. Press A to go faster, and Link will hit Epona with the bow.
Freeze zombies:In order to freeze zombies you need to know the Sun's Song. Go up to a group of zombies and play the song. They will turn white and freeze for a little while. This works best in the market when you are an adult or in the royal family's tomb. Note: You can only hit them once before they unfreeeze.
Swing Megaton Hammer like a sword:As an adult, equip the Megaton Hammer to one of the "C" buttons. Hold Z, then hold Analog-stick Left or Right to begin walking sideways. Press the "C" button that corresponds to the megaton hammer. Link will swing it sideways as if it were a sword. This may be a faster way of swinging the hammer repeatedly. You may want to try it on Volvagia.
Using the Megaton Hammer:Pressing the hammer button will do a normal overhead swing. Pressing it while holdingLeft or Right will make a short lateral swing. Holding R while pressing the hammer button, unlocked, will stab with the hammer. That is half as effective as a normal swing, but it has no recoil and is much faster. Pressing R with the hammer up and a target locked will raise it in a defensive posture, but will not protect you.
Giant Leever:Leevers are the spinning cactii monsters that attack Link in the later part of the Haunted Wasteland and the Desert Colossus. Get to the Desert Colossus as adult Link with Giant's Knife or Biggoron Sword, and lots of health, potions, or Neyru's Love. Activate Neyru's Love (if available), and attack at the approaching Leevers. Although any weapon can be used, the Giant's Knife or Biggoron Sword are the best choices. After a dozen or so small green Leevers have been killed, a giant purple Leever will attack. It takes about four hits with the Biggoron Sword to kill it, and Link will get either two red or two blue rupees as a reward. There are about four at the Desert Colossus. After they are killed, the little Leevers will not appear until Link re-enters the stage/room.

Glitches

Clinking and clanking without shield and sword:Note: This can be only done when you have not received your Deku Shield and Koriki Sword. When you first start the game, run, jump, or roll without your shield and sword. You will still hear the clinking and clanking as if you had your equipment.
No sword:Get to the last battle with Gannon. When he knocks the Master Sword out of Link's hand. save and restart the game. When the game is resumed, Link will not have his sword.
While Link does not have his sword, equip the Ocarina Of Time then get on Epona. Press the corresponding C button to use the Ocarina. Link will get off Epona to use the Ocarina. Press B to put the Ocarina away. Then, "Faster" will appear in your action button window, as if you were riding Epona. Press A button where it says "Faster" to warp over to Epona. You will be floating in mid-air behind Epona, then will be placed on her back.
Play sword instead of Ocarina:Get a fish in a bottle. Drop it on the stairs, jump off, and press B. If done correctly, Link should have a sword in his mouth.
You can play the sword like the ocarina by having a bottle with bugs or a fish in it in your hand. Then, jump off a small cliff and press the bottle button then the sword button before you reach the ground.
Deku Stick sword:Assign the Deku Stick to one of the C buttons. Then, go to the top of a cliff or ledge. Stand facing opposite of the edge and do a backflip off it. While in mid-air, use the Deku Stick. When you hit the ground you will be holding only half of the Deku Stick. You can now use it as a sword. It will be twice as powerful as the Master Sword. Note: Once you equip or move to an other area, it will disappear.
Disappearing Naryu's Love:Go to Desert Colossus and find the two palm trees touching a wall with a crack in the middle of them. Get the Naryu's Love in there. Equip Naryu's Love, use it, and play the Bolero Of Fire. Naryu's Love should disappear and your magic meter will be flashing.
Enter bazaar at night:Climb up onto the crate next to the bazaar and roll jump off towards the door. Eventually, you will end up in the bazaar. The people in there will act as if it were supposed to be open. When you go back out, you cannot go back in unless you do the process again. Note: It take quite awhile to get in; try to aim at the door or the wall beside it.
Replay intended music:Use this trick to replay the intended music for special sequences. Before you lift or put the Master Sword, play any warping song (such as Requiem Of Spirit or Bolero Of Fire). Answer "No" at the "Do You Want To Warp To..." prompt and pick up the sword. While you are picking up or placing it, the song will continue to play and the intended music for this sequence is played over by the warping song. This can also be done before you enter Ganondorf's lair or immediately before you encounter Ganon himself or any Boss.
Play two notes at quest/status item sub-screen:Note: The Song Of Storms is required for this trick. Go to the quest status/item sub-screen and put the pointer on the Song Of Storms. Select it, and when it is over quickly go to the R icon and press A(2). It will play two notes on the second one. It will hold for a few seconds.
Fall through the ground at the entrance to Hyrule Market:Become a kid, then play the Sun's Song to make it day. Go to Hyrule Field, and climb up the ropes to the top at the drawbridge. Play the Sun's Song to make it night. Once the drawbridge has fully gone up; jump down inside the entrance to Hyrule Market. If done correctly; you should have gone right through the ground and ended up in Hyrule Market.
See Hyrule Castle and Town as an adult:While you are an adult, stand near the broken drawbridge at the entrance of Hyrule Castle Town. Face the entrance, and Hyrule Castle and Hyrule Castle Town will appear, as if nothing ever happened.
Fall through the ground at Forest Temple entrance:Become an adult; then warp to the Sacred Forest Meadow. Hookshot up on top of the tree. Jump down on the entrance to the Forest Temple to go right through the ground.
Falling through the ground:To fall through the ground you have to go through the separating area of two different areas while falling. For example, consider the bridge into the Castle town. The bridge is a part of Hyrule Field. The 2D-type background of the town is really a flat wall that can be traveled through for the running into town mini-intermission. Since the wall is supposed to be traveled through, you can fall into it. However, because it is a 2D image you disappear as you are falling into it.
Falling into the sky:Step to any hole in the ground, such as the one in Kakariko, until you stand very close to it. Then press the Z and use your sword or the hammer to jump forward. If done correctly, Link will fall into the hole, the camera will follow, and it will look like he is falling through the sky for a few seconds.
Fall down:If you want to talk to someone when you are on the ledge of a cliff (for example, the girl on the prism in Kokiri Forest), press A. If you done correctly, you should have fallen down.
Stand on edge of drawbridge:Go to the drawbridge at the castle during the day. Climb up the chains to the every top, then play the Sun's Song. Wait for bridge to pull in -- this will not effect you. After it is pulled in, walk to the bridge and walk across it to get rupees. Then stand in the middle of the bridge on the edge. Play the Sun's Song again, and you should start to lean with the bridge until the end, where you are then standing straight.
Not on Epona anymore:As an adult, go to Lon Lon Ranch on Epona. Go around the course once, then make a fast stop. Speak to the girl when Epona is on her back legs and it will appear as if Link is not on her back.
Bury Epona alive:At Lon Lon Ranch, and go along the outer wall about 50 paces past the Cuccos. Play Epona's Song and then quickly run into the Barn. Return to where you played Epona's Song, and she will be there, stuck in the ground.
Invisible Epona:To mount an invisible horse, you first need to use the trick of using weapons on Epona. To do this, go to the Ganon's Castle. When you defeat Gandorf, he will make the castle collapse. You will follow Princess Zelda to the bottom. After you get there, once the castle collapses, a bang will be heard. Talk to princess Zelda at this time and she will ask what the noise was. Approach the only towers all leaning together in the middle of where the castle was located. Ganon will appear as a monster. When he knocks the Master Sword out of your hands, save and reset the game. If correctly, you will start the game at the bottom of the tower. Your sword will not be equipped. Do not equip it, as this will ruin the trick. Go to Hyrule Field and call Epona. When you get on Epona, you will be able to use C-buttons, but it will not show the icon; so you have to memorize the items that you set to each button. Now that you can use items on Epofa, equip the Ocarina. While you are moving, press the C-buttonassigned to the Ocarina. This will make Link dismount and freeze everything. Then, press Bto stop playing your Ocarina. Epona will be running away without a rider. Sometimes you can control your horse without being on it, and other times you can move yourself. The icons will still act like as if you are on the horse. Press A to go jump on and go faster. Link will grab Epona, but she will ditch you and Link will temporarily be riding an invisible horse. Note: This only works for two or three seconds.
Floating Epona:Escape Lon Lon Ranch with Epona, then ride over to the entrance to Gerudo Valley. Ride at full speed. As you enter Hyrule Field from Gerudo Valley, there is a ramp that descends to the Field. On your left will be a fence that runs along t`e ridge above the ramp. Back up and ride full speed (using A to go faster) headlong into the edge of the fence. This requires good timing; as soon as you hit the edge of the fence, pull back on Epona and dismount. if timed correctly, Epona will be floating about two feet off the ground. You can play Epona's Song and she will run in mid-air. To get her back onto the ground, go to the castle (or anywhere else far away) and play Epona's Song again.
Epona leaves the lake:Go to Hylia lake as an adult with Epona. Before you enter the Water Temple and the lake is drained, place Epona down at the bottom of the drained lake. Then, go inside and defeat the Boss. If done correctly, the water will return to the lake and Epona will still be at the lake. When you come out of the temple, Epona will be on the shore.
Headless Epona:While at Lon-Lon Ranch just after you have learned Epona's Song, Epona will push into you and start moving you. Press C-Up and look directly at her face. It will disappear, and you will see a large hole where her head was.
Walk on Epona anywhere with any mask:Go to the first file. Fly to where you want to walk on Epona (cannot be Milk Road). Wear the mask that you want to use on Epona, then save the game. Then, go to the second file. Fly to Milk Road and play the Epona's Song. Climb on Epona. Save the game while you are on Epona. Go to the first file. You will now be on Epona where you saved with the mask.
Carpet sound when there is no carpet:Get to the very long staircase with the carpet when traveling upwards towards Ganondorf. Step onto the side (the part with no carpet). Every time Link steps, it will make a carpet step sound.
Platform does not fall:When you are in the Fire mini-dungeon in Ganon's Castle, the middle platform (among others) will fall. Equip the Hover Boots, and the middle platform will not fall out from underneath you. However, this only works on that specific platform.
Water temple when dry:As an adult, get on Epona and run straight into Lake Hylia. You can explore the bottom of the lake.
Go through the bridge:During the day, go outside of the Market. Stand on the platform close to the water. Play the Sun's Song and the bridge will comes down on Link, and then he will be on it.
Bent Hookshot or Longshot:As a child, travel to Kokiri Forest and plant a magic bean in the dirt patch near the shop. Return to this spot as an adult and ride the large leaf. When you are riding it, your Hookshot/Longshot will bend while you are using it.
Dead end with no Bombchus:If you have used the trick to exchange your "C" items for bottles and trade your Bombchus, you cannot finish the game! You will become stuck in the Spirit Barrier at Ganon's Castle.
No wall:Go to Hyrule Castle and enter the room with all the jars. Hold B and do a sword spin, then use Z-targeting and back up to the door. The wall that would be there to hold the door will be gone.
Two masks of the same kind at the Happy Mask Shop:This trick works best if you have sold all of your masks. Borrow any mask. Put on the mask, go back to the Happy Mask Shop, and put the mask on when you are inside the shop. Talk to the mask woman while wearing the mask and trade in the mask for another. She will give it to you and the mask you were wearing will go back on the shelf. Link will hold up the new mask, but he still will be wearing the first mask -- meaning the first mask is on you as well as on the shelf. Navi will fly in front of Link's face, and when she moves Link will no longer be wearing the first mask.
Walk under Zora's River without Iron Boots:Go to the area in Hyrule Field that joins to the Zora's River area as an adult or child. Start on the left side of the bank facing the entrance to Zora's River, and run towards the entrance. As you run, stay to the right of the sign. Run directly towards the angle in the river. If you are successful, you should walk down and under the river, back up the other side, and then end up in Zora's River. If timed correctly, you can do the above steps and also have Link run under the river and turn around underwater, seeming to go back to Hyrule Field. However, he will still end up in Zora's River.
King Zora thawed:If you leave King Zora frozen (do not use Blue Fire to melt the ice), in the ending sequence you will see King Zora unfrozen at the side of Great Mido.
Damage from marathon runner:Stand in front of the marathon runner in Hyrule Field. He will start punching you and it will do damage.
Sign in Lake Hylia:Hit the sign next to man's house over the ledge, then play Zelda's Lullaby. The sign will come back up through the ground after a few seconds.
Float in Gerudo Valley:When Ganon knocks the sword out of your hand, save and reset the game. Go to Gerudo Valley and hookshot the object hanging above either side of the bridge. You can now float to anywhere you want to. Note: If you draw any of your swords, you will have to re-glitch the game to get the same effect.
Float in a house:Go to Lake Hylia and go into the house on top of the hill. Inside the house are two shelves with a crab, a pot, and items on it. Approach it and jump on it. You will stand on air for awhile, then fall three times.
Float in air:As a child, go to the Kuko lady and bomb one of the Kukos twice, until it calls for help. You will see yourself float in mid-air during the short move scene.
Stand very close to a hole. You will float if done correctly.
You must be a child to do this trick. Put on the Hylian shield. Hold R so he ducks. Enter the pause menu and switch to the Deku shield while R is still held. When you return to the game screen, Link should be floating in air.
As a child, go to Hyrule Field at night. When the skeletons pop up from the ground, Z-target one and use your Hylian Shield. Press C-Up to talk to Navi. When Navi is talking, you will be floating aboveground.
Float on ladder:As an adult with the Hover Boots, go to the old woman's potion shop (in the village Impa's house is in). Jump on the boxes in front of the ladder. Run at the ladder and grab it. If done correctly, you should still be hovering while on the ladder.
Stuck on ladder:When you are in the Zora's Domain, go up to the king then leave the room towards the diving game location. Talk to the Zora and and play the game. Get all the rupees except for one. When you have fifteen seconds remaining, go to the ladder going up. Get on the ladder and when he says "Time's up!" and the screen comes back to you, you will be on the ladder. However, you are standing up and you cannot get off, or go up or down.
Floating arrow:Go to Kakariko Village to where the man wants bugs from you. Look to the right of him and you will see two boxes. The box to the right has an arrow. Roll into the middle of the boxes. They will both break apart and an arrow will be floating where the left box was located.
Go to the Gerudo Fortress and defeat one of the Gerudo thieves guarding one of the prisoners (the ones that come out after you talk to them). Then, go into his cell and take out your bow and arrow. Without putting your bow away, talk to the carpenter. The arrow will be floating in mid-air. Note: After the carpenter leaves, the arrow will be gone.
Floating item:Have your Ocarina set to one of the C-buttons. Get an item, then quickly press the button for the Ocarina. If done correctly, the item should still be over Link's head.
Floating bones:In the Royal Family's Tomb, go to the room where the poem is inscribed. Once you climb the stairs, notice that the bones are floating.
Floating rupee:Go to the place in Hyrule City where there is one guard and a group of pots as a child. As soon as you walk though the door, look to your left and you should see three crates. Ram into the crate farthest from the door, and if you are lucky, a rupee will fly toward the second crate and land on it. Ram into the crate with the rupee. The rupee should be in the air. Note: You can do this in other places as well, with two crates and other items.
Float while fishing:Wear the Hover Boots while fishing. Walk out onto the water. While still hovering, press B to cast the line. You will fall, but the line will go out. Link can still move and do anything he normally can. You can also leave the fishing pond like this and take the fishing rod with you. Do not cast outside or the game will freeze.
Get Fire Arrow without completing the Water Temple:Get your own Scarecrow Song. Get the Longshot from the Water Temple. Go to the place where you shoot the sun. Walk as far as you can to the edge of the hill facing the Fire Arrow. Play the Scarecrow Song and a scarecrow will appear from the ground. Shoot the Long Shot at the scarecrow and pick up the Fire Arrow.
After you get the Longshot, go to the "goal post" and play the Scarecrow Song. Pierre will appear. Go to the plaque and shoot the rising sun. Move down slightly but do not fall. Use the Longshot to hook onto Pierre, then collect the Fire Arrows.
Warp to different temples:Have Farore's Wind and complete the game up to the Shadow Temple. When you are a kid, go to the Shadow Temple. Go in and cast Farore's Wind. Then, exit and go to Zora's Domain. Go all the way up to JabuJabu and go in. When inside, cast Farore's Wind again and it will ask you if you want to return or dispel the warp point. Choose "Return To The Warp Point" and you should return to the entrance of the Shadow Temple.
Hookshot/Longshot beam remains on:Get the Hookshot/Longshot and set it to a C-button. Pull it out and hold Z. The camera should shift to the back of Link's head. Next, press the C-button again to fire the Hookshot/Longshot. About one second after you fire it, press R to pull out your shield. Release Z and walk around. Link will still be holding the Hookshot/Longshot, only this time the red aiming beam will still be on.
As an adult, get the hookshot then set it to a C-button. Use the hookshot without shooting it while Z-Targeting and holding L + R. Release after approximately thirty seconds. The targeting still be there even though you are not using the hookshot.
Arrow through body:Equip the Bow and Arrow and go to Kakariko Village. Go to the side of the house with the man sitting on the roof. Aim at the man and take out your Bow and Arrow. Hold the C-buttonso Link has an arrow ready to fire. Then, press A to talk. Link will put away the Bow, but the Arrow that he had ready will still be floating in mid-air, sticking straight through Link's head.
Go to Kakariko village as an adult. Go in front of the old man in a blue shirt and take out your bow. Z-target, and press A to talk to him. An arrow will be aimed at his face or stuck in his shoulder.
Extra arrow:Go to Kakariko Village and go to the shooting gallery to play a game. When prompted to play again, answer "Yes" and press B to skip the dialogue. When you start the new round, you will shoot an arrow but still have fifteen arrows total.
Bomb goes through Link:As a child, equip the Hylian Shield, and pick up a bomb. Press Z. Link will bend over, release the bomb, and the bomb will go through Link, through his shield, into his body, and it will be set. However, unlike other ways (when you put a bomb in front of you, take around three steps behind, and use the Hylian Shield to avoid the bomb blowing up) the bomb will explode and hurt you if you stay there while still holding Z.
Link stuck on skull:In the Shadow Temple, there is a room with three rotating skulls and a Golden Skulltula. Use the Longshot to kill the Skulltula and lock onto the token. Use the longshot to get the token. When the message stating that you got a token appears, the skulls will still be moving. Press A just before the skull reaches Link and you should be stuck inside. To get out, just place a bomb and the skull will explode.
Floating Link:Attack a cuckoo repeatedly. In the intermission sequence, when the camera starts to elevate to focus on Link and the cuckoo, notice that Link is floating. Note: This may require some practice.
Flying Princess Ruto:Inside Lord Jabu-Jabu, throw Princess Ruto into a spot were a giant chest is going to appear. Once the chest appears, Princess Ruto will be on top. Open the chest and the lid will go through her, sending her flying. Note: You have to leave the room to get her down.
Flying spider:Go to Lake Hylia. Go near the blue spider by the water. Use your Hammer to flip it over, then use your Hookshot or Longshot to hit it. It will unfreeze and fly into the sky.
Flying Blue Tektites:In order to do this, you must have the Megaton Hammer and the Hookshot/Longshot. As an adult, go to Lake Hyila. Lure one of the Tektites (blue bugs) over to land just before the water's edge. Use the Megaton Hammer and hit the ground. Do not hit the Tekitite. This should cause it to flip over. While it is on its back, move so that you see the Tektite and the water behind it. Shoot it with the Hookshot. If the Tektite was close enough to the water, it should skid on the water's surface. Once the hookshot wears off, it will fly upwards and not return. If it just flips back onto its feet, repeat the process, only closer to the water.

Invisible shield:After you get all the Stones, go to Ganondorf. Before you go through the intermission sequence, equip your Hylain Shield. Link should still have his Hylian Shield on his back but will take out an invisible shield during the sequence.
Play through the game normally, but without getting the Hylian Shield. When you become an adult, you will see an intermission sequence in which Link senses Sheik behind him then pulls out his shield and sword. Since you cannot use the Deku Shield and do not have the Hylian Shield, he will unsheathe his sword and pull out an invisible shield.
Talking Stones stay blue or red:Set a bomb next to a Talking Stone pull out your sword. Wait for it to change colors and hit it. If done correctly, it should stay blue or red. If you leave the room and renter, it will be back to normal.

Mr. Ingo's eyes:Mr. Ingo (in Lon Lon Ranch) sleeps with his eyes open. To see this, go to Lon Lon Ranch at night as an adult. Enter the house on the left, where the Cucoo game was located. Walk up the stairs to the second floor to find Mr. Ingo sleeping on the bed. Jump onto the bed so the sleeping Ingo is facing you. Look down at his face and you should see his eyes are open. When you speak to him, the z's indicate that he is sleeping.
No more Navi:Go to the Temple Of Time as an adult. Stand on the red carpet between the green stone and the red stone. Do a backflip onto the stand they are on (between them) and the play Saria's Song. Talk to Saria then walk away. Navi will be stuck there until you make the screen change (exit, then put sword back).
Navi's disappearing wings:You can make Navi's wings dissapear when she is still flying. Go to any wall anywhere, then walk to it. Navi will crash into the wall. Look and you will see that Navi has no wings and is just a glowing ball.
Frog parts:Go to Zora's River, walk on the log that Navi points out to you, then face in the direction of the left edge of the rock that holds up that log across the water from you. Press the C-button that your boomerang is set to. Press the Ocarina button almost immediately after the boomerang is thrown. If done correctly, it will appear as if the frog in the middle of the group has a nose, or it may look like he is smoking a pipe. If you press the Ocarina button as soon as the boomerang is thrown (just keep tapping the Ocarina button rapidly immediately after you press the Boomerang button), it may look like the green frog has an antenna on its head. Note: All of the frogs have to be big in order for this trick to work. It does not matter which Ocarina you have.
Bouncing chicken:On you way to Zora's Domain, you will need a chicken. When you are done with it, throw the chicken into the river, press C-Up, and watch it carefully. It will bounce off the water and fly out of the game. However, ot will still be there the next time you are there.

Then, quickly run over behind the sign on the other side of the shop entrance, Z-target it, and use a Jumping Slash. You will be holding half of a burning Deku Stick. Go back to the torch and try burning it. Wait until the Deku Stick is whole again, then quickly put it away. When you take it back out, it will be on fire. It only lasts awhile and if you go into water you will hear a fizzling noise like when you drop a bomb into water, and your Deku Stick will be put out.
Half a sign:Destroy a sign by using a horizontal slash to cut off the top part of it. Then, play "Zelda's Lullaby" to fix the sign. As the sign is reforming, hold Z and press Up + B to stab. This will cause the bottom of the sign to fall off of its post. If timed correctly, the top half of the sign will be floating in mid-air above the sign post.
Unlimited Gold Skulltula tokens:The Boomerang and Song Of Storms are required for this trick. As a child, go into the market and towards Hyrule Castle. Get past the guards and jump into the flowing stream. When you get up, there is a tree. Go to the tree and play the Song Of Storms. Enter the hole that appears. Inside, blow up all the walls with bombs until you find the one with the Gold Skulltula. Kill the Gold Skulltula, but do not retrieve the token. Take out your Boomerang and throw it to get the token. Make sure you are next to the platform that gets you out of the hole. After the boomerang has the token and it is on its way back to you, step back onto the platform just before the boomerang returns. If timed correctly, you will have the token, but the Skulltula will still be in the hole. Note: Z-targeting the token so that you can do a quick backflip onto the platform is recommended. Save the game after you are satisfied with the number of tokens you have collected.
Gold Skulltula returns to life:As an adult, enter Zora's Domain at night. From the entrance, shoot the Gold Skulltulla at the top of the frozen waterfall. Then, go to where King Zora is located and pass through the tunnel to where the Token is ound. It will not be there anymore, but the Skulltulla will be alive again.

See the sun on the ground:Go to Lon Lon Ranch and go to any of the fences. Face the opposite side of the fence and press Z. You might see the sky on the ground. Play the Sun's Song to make it night and face the opposite side of the fence. Press Z then walk facing the fence. You might see the sun on the ground, where is a black spot when you see the sky on the ground. You will see the sun, which will be red or orange.
Disappearing Goron:When you are in the Fire Temple, you will reach a big maze. In the big maze is a Goron in a cage. Once you open the gate to free him, jump down from where you pressed the switch and leave the room. Go back to the cage. The Goron is gone.
Guide Moblins:In order to control the Moblins in the Lost Woods, try this glitch on the Moblin nearest to the big one with the hammer. Wait for it to get near the water on the left-hand side (facing the Farie Fountain). Now, run down to the right-hand side (opposite of the water) and go around the corner. Wait for the Moblin to run at the wall. It will now bounce of the wall. Quickly, run around the same corner again, facing the opposite direction (you are facing the Moblin, and he is facing you). He should still be backing up if you were able to time it correctly. Run towards him while he is still backing up. You now have two choices. You can either push him into the water, or push him up the stairs towards the bigger Moblin with the hammer. To push him into the water, run towards him until you are able to run up the stairs. Run up them. Now, run into the Moblin's path and run back to the stairs. If done correctly, he should charge at the wall again. When he bounces off the wall again, run ahead of him and run towards him, backing him up even further. You should back him up so far that he falls into the water with a small splash. If you want to push him up the stairs, then stay to the far right-hand side of the path (the wall with the ladder). Hopefully he will turn slightly to spear you. Dodge the spear and he will hit the wall (with the ladder). Then, run into his path and he will back up. If he was far enough forward he will back up into the stairs. Continue to run back and forth into his path and pushing him farther back onto flat ground again. At this point, he will not be able to run down the stairs unless you turn him, and push him down. Note: This requires a lot of patience, work, and timing.
Bouncing screen:As an adult, go to the Sacred Forest Meadow, Get to the part where the Moblin is blocking the entrance to the Forest Temple. You will see the Moblin attack you, hitting his giant club to the floor. The screen will start bouncing. Attack the Moblin with your sword when he is about hit you (just before he moves his club). The screen will bounce, even if the club does not touch the path. Note: Watch out when trying to do this as you can get hurt.
