In-game reset:Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select + Start during game play.
Run away:At any time during a battle with wild monsters, press R1 + R2. Note: This will not work on Bosses.
Hidden song:Place the game disc in an audio CD player and play track two to hear the song "Eyes On Me" by Faye Wong.
Limit Break continues:When any one of your party members is badly injured (indicated by a yellow life gauge), press Circle repeatedly until the arrow on "<attack>" appears for a limit break.
Glitch: Floating man:Go to the second floor hall of Galbadia Garden. Keep walking in the way of the man in the wheelchair. Sometimes you will see him floating around next to his wheelchair.
Glitch: Floating book:After you acquire the Ragnarok, go to Balamb. Standing next to a gas pump will be a man. Make sure Zell is in your party and talk to the man. He will say that a girl with a pigtail went to Zell's house. Talk to Zell's mom, then go to Balamb Garden (at Fisherman's Horizon). Go in the library. There will be a girl reading a book. Go behind her and talk to her. When she finishes talking, the book should be floating behind her. If not. go behind her and try again.
Glitch: Run through bus:When in Deling City, run into a bus. Keep going and you will eventually run through it.
Glitch: Blasting Zone:When fighting Ultimecia True, use the Renzokuken with Squall and use Blasting Zone. You will see the beam coming out of earth even through you are in space.
Glitch: Saving Rinoa:When saving Rinoa in the Socceress Memorial Hall, if you have an upgraded weapon with Squall, he will pull out a revolver.
Glitch: Saving Rinoa in space:When you are at the space station and Rinoa enters into a trance and goes into space, you are supposed to talk to everyone in the control room. Do not choose Selphie. If you do, the game will not proceed. When you are directed to talk to everyone, you will never be able to talk to her.
Glitch: Bahamut from earth:On Disc 4 when you are fighting Ultimecia True, summon Bahamut. He appears to come from earth, even though you are in a time compressed space.
Glitch Cactuar in space:When fighting Ultimecia True, if you use Cactuar it will still show a sun, even though you are in the time compressed space.
Glitch Eden in space:When fighting Ultimecia in space, summon Eden. In the very last part where she sends the enemy into a galaxy, will show Ultimecia going through space from Earth, even though you are in time compressed space.
Glitch: Brothers in space:Use the Brothers when you fight Ultmecia. One will pick up a chunk of earth and toss the other into the air, even though you are in space (compressed time world).
Glitch: Sleep talking Raijin:When you fight Raijin outside of the Balamb Hotel in Disc 2, cast Sleep on him. Keep doing this until he is asleep, then defeat him using magic attacks so that he does not wak eup. After you defeat him, the little Zs will be above his head while he says "Ugh ya got me ya know".
Glitch: Different Beat Finish:When fighting Ultimecia True, use Zell's Different Beat Finish. Even though you are already in space, Zell should keep kicking Ultimecia True and end up in the sky.
Glitch: Strange sounding Squall:Cast Protect on the enemy that you are going to do Squall's Limit Break on. If he does a Lionheart finish, the Protect will still be on and will glitch the sound. Note: This will not have any bad effect on your game.
Glitch: Stuck in Caraway's mansion:When Rinoa leaves the room, go to the door. Caraway comes in, he will walk through you and you will get stuck. To get out, you have to finish the dialogue with him.
Glitch: Scanning Selphie:If you scan a monster or yourself with the Scan magic, you can use the D-pad to move the character in all directions. If you use Scan on Selphie and try to rotate it, it will only allow you to move her left and right and not up and down.
Glitch: Misspelling:When you go to Timber for the first time, Watts will say "The forests of Timber sure has changed!" instead of "The forests of timber sure have changed!"
General Hints
Low level advantages:Since the enemies level up as you do, try to keep your level as low as possible for easier battles. As long as your magic is good, defeating your opponents will not be a problem. Draw high level magic when your level is low to increase your status.
Increasing stats:You can increase all your stats by using GF Eden's Devour ability by eating the following:
Hp: Rinoa in Adel + 10 HP, Ruby Dragon + 10 HP
Str: T-Rexaur + 1 Str
Vit: Adamantoise + 1 Vit
Mag: Behemoth + 1 Mag
Spr: Malboro + 1 Spr
Spd: Pu Pu + 1 Spd
If you eat a Cactuar your health is fully replenished.
The following trick requires Doomtrain, Eden and Tonberry. You also need Doomtrains ability Forbid Med-RF, Edens ability GFAbl Med-RF, and Tonberrys Familiar and Call Shop abilities. You also need to have been to all of Esthers Shops. Go to Esther Pet Shop in the Call Shop ability, then buy either Giant's Rings, Power Wrists, Force Armlets, or Hypno Crowns. Refine them with GFAbl Med-RF into their next form:
10 Giant's Rings to 1 Gaea's Ring
10 Power Wrists to 1 Hyper Wrist
10 Force Armlets to 1 Magic Armlet
10 Hypno Crowns to 1 Royal Crown
Then, use the Forbid Med-RF to turn them into status-ups:
1 Gaea's Ring to 1 HP Up
10 Hyper Wrists to 1 Str Up
10 Magic Armlets to 1 Spr Up
10 Royal Crowns to 1 Mag Up
It takes 150 000 000 gil just to get 100 of the status ups, each. Although this will take a long time, is shorter to do it this way then to eat monsters. You can also Refine Vit Ups by buying Vit-J Scrolls and using the GFAbl Med-RF to Refine 10 into 1 Orihalcan, then Refine 10 of those into 1 Adamantine, then use Forbid Med-RF to turn 5 of those into 1 Vit Up. You also can Refine Spd Ups by fighting a lot of Cactuars on Cactuar Island, and getting 100 Cactus Thorns then Refine them with GFAbl Med-RF to 1 Hundred Needles then Refine that using Forbid Med-RF, into 1 Spd Up.
To get Squall's high HP early, learn Siren's L-Mag-RF before you go to Timber. Get Squall to a high SeeD rank. Answer all the SeeD answers before going to Timber. Walk around the outside of Balamb until you get your pay. Enter Balamb and buy 10 Tents and refine them into 100 Curagas. learn Quezacolt's HP-J ability and equip the 100 Curagea to his HP-J.
Use the following trick to get very strong early in the game. This can be done before or after your first trip to the Fire Cavern, but it will not be much help unless you have Ifrit, Str-J ability, and Siva's I Mag-RF ability. Either way, go down to the shoreline and keep fighting the Fastitocalon-Fs that appear. Each set of two will yield 6 AP; and it would help to have Ifrit learn Str+20% while doing this. Sometimes they will drop Fish Fins, and with the I Mag-RF ability, each of these can be refined into 20 Water spells. Once five Fish Fins are collected, they will be equal to 100 Water spells. Water junctions incredibly well to any stat, and the best way to use the spell is to junction it all to Squall's strength. With 100 Water, and Str+20%, Squall will be doing a massive amount of damage.
Use the following trick to obtain a 255 strength stat on Disc 1. It only works for one person(Squall recommended). Junction Shiva to a party member. She has the Str-J ability. Level up to level 30 or higher. Have Quezacotl learn the Card Mod ability. Have Ifirit learn all the strength boosting abilities (Str+20%, etc.) and Junction it to Squall or anyone else in your party. Win the Quistis card and the Zell card. Defeat Diablos by rubbing the magical lamp that Cid gave you. Have Diablos learn the Time Space magic refine ability. Using the Card Mod ability, turn the Quistis card into three Samantha Souls, and the Zell card into three Hyper Wrists. Use one Hyper Wrist on Ifrit so he can learn Str +60%. Turn the three Samantha Souls into Triples using the Time Space magic refine ability from Diablos. Give all these Triples to the desired party member. Junction Triple to Strength and the result is that your strength will skyrocket to at least 130+. To get to 255, use Ifirit's Str +20, 40, or 60% abilities. If it does not work, junction Diabos to the party member, since he has the Ability x3 ability, allowing you to junction all three Strength boosters to the desired character. You should now have acquired maximum strength while still on Disc 1.
Easy gil:Tonberry's Haggle and Sell High abilities as well as Carbuncle's Recovery Medicine Refining ability must be learned for this trick. Obtain 75,000 gil and by 100 Tents from any shop. Refine them into 25 Mega-Potions, which can be sold for 7,500 gil each. This results in a profit of 105,000 gil.
Battle Mezmerizes or refine their cards, you can use Carbuncle's Recovery Medicine Refinement to turn each Mezmerize Blade into two Mega Potions. This more than triples the profits from the previous method listed.
Build a high speed level, the Rare item ability, hit at 255%, and a high strength stat. Go to Cactuar Island and fight Cactuars. You will usually acquire an item called Jet Engine, which can be sold for 150000 gil.
This trick requires the Recov-Med-RF. Go near the Trabia Garden. When you get there, you should that it is surrounded by mountains. Go to the opening of the mountains and find the area not covered with snow. Go on it and defeat a Mezmerize to get some Mezemrize Blades. Use the Recov-Med-RF ability on the Mezmerize Blades to transform one blade into two Mega Potions. You can either sell the Mega Potions for 5,000 gil or save them to cure yourself.
This trick works on Disc three with the Recov Med-RF. Go outside of Esther to encounter a monster called a Mesmerize. After you defeat it, you will get an item called the Mesmerize Blade. Get 100 of those and then use the Recov Med-RF on it to get 200 Mega Potions. Sell the 200 Mega Potions for 1,000,000 gil. This trick works better if you have the Mug ability.
Make sure you have good status defense, then fight Malboros. When you defeat them, you will most likely get either eight Malboro Tentacles or ten Curse Spikes. Use Siren's St Med-RF ability to change one Curse Spike into one Remedy or one Malboro Tentacle into two Remedies. You can sell Remedies for about 375 each using Tonberry's Sell-High ability. For example: 40 Remedies can get you an instant SeeD Rank A's pay (30,000).
After the trip to Esthar, fight and mug a lot of Mesmerizes. Mug Mesmerize Blades from them. Use one of Carbuncle's abilities to refine each blade for two Mega-Potions. Each will sell for 5,000 gil. Use Tonberry's Sell High and Haggle abilities for more money.
The following trick requires the GFs, Tonberry and Carbuncle. You also need Tonberrys abilities Sell-High, Haggle, Call Shop, and Familiar, and Carbuncles ability Recov Med-RF. You also have to visit all of Esthers Shops. You can get all of this by Disc 3. Use Call Shop to access the Esther Shop, Buy at least 2 Cottages, then use the Recov Med-RF Ability to refine them all into Mega-Potions. Sell the Mega-Potions. The Cottages cost 1,800 gil or 1,350 gil with the Haggle ability (recommended). With the Sell-High ability you can sell each Mega-Potion for 7,500 gil but only 5,000 gil without it. You can do this trick with or without the Haggle or Sell-High abilities, but you make more money with them. Note: You can do this trick with Tents also, at the beginning of Disc 2 when you are Laguna. You can learn Carbuncles Recov Med-RF ability, then when you are at the D-District Prison you can buy Tents at the shop on Floor 8, then Refine them and sell the Mega-Potions.
This trick requires Quezacoatl's Refine Med-RF ability. Buy 100 Tents for 100,000 Gil. Refine the tents into 25 Mega-Potions. Sell the Mega-Potions for 125,000 Gil. Your profit will be 25,000 Gil each time this is done. To make more money, you can also get Tonberry's Haggle and Sell High.
This trick requires at least 4,000 Gil, the Carbuncle's Recov Med-RF ability, and to speed up the trick, the Tonberry's Call Shop, Haggle and Sell-High abilities. Buy four or more Tents at any shop and refine these into Mega-Potions with the Recov Med-RF ability. Then, sell it at a shop to obtain 5,000 Gil. With the Sell-High ability, you will obtain 7,500 Gil and with the Haggle ability, you need 3,000 Gil.
About the time when you can rent a car, get your SeeD rank to 19 or above. Buy about 6 or 7 Fuels and rent a car. Keep driving around where you can buy fuel until the fuel you have runs out. You will get about 3 SeeD paychecks, which will pay for the car, more fuel, with money left over.
Easy experience:Equip one character with Auto-Haste, Initiative, and Junction 100 Pain spells to their attack. They will go first, and blind/poison/silence the target monster (this works well against Behemoths). Have another character cast Zombie on the helpless monster, and have the third character use the Revive ability on the Zombied monster. Behemoths cannot see to counter attack, and Silence keeps them from using their high-level magic. In all Final Fantasy games, undead monsters are injured by curative magic, and killed by Life spells, Phoenix Downs, etc. Use this technique when fighting the Behemoths in the Deep Sea Research Center on the south-western-most corner of the world map to accumulate experience and build your characters. Note: This only works on monsters that are susceptible to Death magic. Bosses are immune to this trick, as are Ruby Dragons and Imps. Those opponents must be killed by traditional means; however the Diablos summon kills most Imps in one hit.
When in the Disc 3, have Quistis in your party and have her life low or in the yellow. Go to the island on the far left of the world map and use Degenerator on all the enemies. This will result in easy experience for your party.
Before fighting sorceress Edea in the Galbadian Garden, go to the arena. Walk around on the ice, and you will eventually fight hockey players. They are easy to defeat and give you approximately 15 High Potions, with a lot of AP and experience points after each battle -- which is necessary to defeat Edea.
Once you have Odin, (Odin and Gilgemesh GF), travel to the Island Closest To Hell. Get into a fight, run, and repeat until Odin appears. Odin appears once or twice every seven to ten battles.
Get the Level Up and Mad Rush abilities, and have 100 Blind and 100 Beserk junctioned to the characters' Status Attack. Travel to Trabia and the Bika Snow Field. When you encounter the Snow Lion, attack him so that he is Berserked and Blinded. Alternately, use magic or draw his Berserk. Snow Lion will now attempt to attack your party, but fail. Use Lv Up on him until you cannot use it any more (starts to fail). Then, cast Mad Rush on your party then return between five to ten minutes later and he should be defeated. You will receive about three bars of EXP if you are on level 70 and even more bars if your level is lower.
Go the forest near Trabia Garden and fight a Snow Lion. It is usually accompanied with Bite Bugs. Cast Blind and Berserk on the Snow Lion then level it up to 100 with Tonberry's Lv Up ability. Kill it to get 2000 to over 3000 experience points. Casting Mad Rush on you party members makes this faster, since they will attack by themselves.
After you acquire Shiva and Quezocoatal from the computer at the beginning of the game and are able to go to the beach outside the Garden, go there. Equip the GFs and set Shiva to learn Doom. Fight the Fastiticolon-F's on the beach. You are guaranteed 6 AP from each battle. When Shiva learns Doom, go to training center in the Garden and equip Doom to your ability list. Run around the right side of the training center and fight T-Rexaurs repeatedly, using Doom on them. You will get plenty of experience, and 10 AP from each battle. When you get to about level 30, they will start to drop Star Fragments. This will only work when you are by yourself. A normal monster's level is always around 10 levels below the person with the lowest level in your group. To fully utilize this, wait until you have the stat bonuses from the GFs and train at the training center until you are level 100.
You can easily get to a very level early in Disc 1, but it is time consuming. On your first SeeD mission, to the Dollet communications tower, you will fight an Anacondaur. This big snake gives you a large amount of experience per battle, and if you have your GF Shiva at a high level the battles should be easy. You can do it either here or in a small forest outside of Timber. It can take up to four to five hours to get up to level 100, but it makes the Boss battles on the first two discs easy.
Go to the Island Closest To Heaven with Quistis in your party. Keep her health in the yellow and use Degenerator in a battle. This will end the battle quickly and give you lots of experience. Keep doing this for each battle on the island and you will be at level 100 quickly.
Easy AP:Start the game as usual and get Squall, Quistis and your GFs leveled up (over 20 for people with GF equipped). Complete the Ifrit sequence and go on to the regular Dollet Town mission. Finish everything up to the spider robot. Knock it out once, then when it begins repairing itself, use another summon (two if it takes that long to get back up), knock it out with a GF again, then run away as Zell suggests. This results in 50 AP points, which can be repeated as long as you watch the timer.
Take Balamb Garden to Edea's house and go north until you find a large desert (Kashkabald desert). You can fight Cactuars, Chimeras, and Abyss Worms if you stay on the sand. Find a Cactuar or two, and kill them. Each one defeated will result in 20 AP, which is helpful for learning moves that require a lot of AP, such as Alexander's Revive.
Have Quistis at very low life so she can Limit Break. Also have the Degenerator attack learned. Go to the Island Closet To Heaven or Hell (Hell recommended due to minimum status effect) and use it on the level 100 beast. Everyone should get at least one level up with every fight. This will always kill any monster besides a Boss. Repeat this to get all characters to level 100.
For an easy 400 AP points, when you fight the X-Atm092 you can get 50 AP points per battle. Although, your ranking will go down by 10% every time, you will still become a SeeD.
After getting the Ragnarok, go to Cactuar Island. Run around until you are confronted by a little Cactuar. Kill it quickly or it will escape. For each one you kill, you will get 20 AP.
Have Irvine with his health in the yellow at Cactaur Island. Make sure he has a very high speed or initiative ability. Get into a fight and have him use his Quick Shot. If done correctly, instead of only getting one with Squall, you can usually get three at a time, giving yourself 60 AP.
After you get your Garden moving can control it yourself, go to the southeast continent. Fly along the shore until you find a narrow passage where your Garden cannot fit through. Get out of the garden and walk through to go to a desert. Once there, you will find Cactaurs, Abyss Worms, and Chimeras. The Cactaur are worth 20 AP each and sometimes appear in groups of three. It is an easy kill, as they have low HP and defense.
After the Lunar Cry occurs, return to Esthar (before you see Edea). From the Airstation inside of Esthar, walk to the end of the screen. Then at the fork in the road, make a right. Go to the save point and save the game. You will be healed as well by the machine that the save point is inside. After that, walk until you reach the screen where three skytubes end. Walk up the road due north, and there will be another screen. There is another fork in the road here. Go right, but stay on this screen. There will be a black figure against the railing. Go up and talk to it. It should say "Heeheehahahee". You will be forced into a fight with an Elnoyle. If you have not drawn 100 Holy, do so now. Cast Doomtrain on it and then attack with physicals. When it dies, it will give you 1000 EXP, 18 AP, and two Energy Crystals. Leave the screen and return. It will be back again, allowing you to repeat this procedure. It will always return as long as you do not move on to Disc 4.
At the beginning of the game, fight the Fasticalons on the beach. One fight nets you 6 AP. Use this to learn Shiva's Ice Magic Refine skill to turn Fish Fins into Waters and junction them to your stats (Strength in particular). You will have an easier time with battles.
Use the following trick to get lots of AP quickly before your first visit to Galbadia Garden. Make sure Siren has learned Treatment. While it is not required, this will make the fights a lot easier. When you take the train to the East Academy Station, get off but do not go into the forest. This will trigger the Laguna dream and you will have to go through of that. Instead, go down to the beach near Timber. To the west of this beach is a plateau that has brown terrain near its foothills. You will frequently find the enemy Vysage here. He has two hands and a head, which are each separate targets. He also casts Darkness, Slow, Silence. and Confusion, but these can be negated with Treatment. Summon GFs a lot to defeat him easily. You will get 12 AP per battle. Be aware that you can also draw useful Esuna and Haste magic from the head, and the arms carry Blind, Drain, and Slow.
When you have the Ragnarok, go to Cactuar Island and fight the big cactus that pops out of the ground. When you fight it, use the magic called Meltdown if available. Then, attack it rapidly with Leviathan and Water. Also, use Squall's Limit Break Renzokuken and Zell's Limit Break Duel to damage the Jumbo Cactuar. You should at least have the "Twin Lance" Gunblade and the "Maverick" Gloves when you fight it. You should soon defeat it. You will get the Cactuar GF. Then, walk around the island and fight small Cactuars. They are very difficult to hit, but you will get 20 AP for each one defeated.
9999 Health:Get to level 43 or higher and draw or refine an item into 100 Curaga. Do not level up. Instead Junction 100 Curaga to HP. If you are not at 9999 HP, put on HP +20%, HP +40%, or HP +80 %.
Early health:When you go to the Tomb of the Unknown King, get Brothers and their Cards. Use Quetzacoatl's Card Mod ability on Sacred's Card to get 100 Dino Bones. Then use Diablos' TimeMag Refine ability to make 100 Quakes for each character. All of your characters should have 2000+ health at around level 15.
Drawing magic:At the start of the game, draw all the low level magic you want since you can refine it with Mid-Mag-Rf (a GF ability). However, since you get all the high level magic early, do not draw it from enemies (Firaga, Thundaga, Blizzaga, Triple, or Curaga). If you do and do not use up all of the mid level magic, you will not have enough room towards the end of the game to draw Flare, Ultima, Holy, or any other strong magic. When you receive Alexander from Sorcoress Edea after the Galbadian Garden/Balamb Garden battle (you must draw it from her), you will be able to make him learn High-Mag-Rf, which will let you refine mid to high level magic. The mid level magic is fine to this point, since you will get other magic such as Tornado, Meltdown, Reflect, and Quake to junction to your stats before then.
More HP:Have magic Full-Life, learn GF HP-j and HP +80%. Equip Full-Life on HP Magic and have Ability HP +80% equipped.
Ending scene:Allow the credits to complete after the final FMV sequence to see Squall and Rinoa.
Quick movement in Balamb Garden:When first at Balamb Garden, after you give the tour to Selphie, approach the the directory and press Action. When the directory screen appears, move the pointer to where to wish to go and press Action. You will appear in the hallway in front of that location. Note: This only works at the beginning of the game.
Secret location in Dollet:In Dollet, play the pub owner in a card game. He is an easy opponent. When you defeat him, you get to go to his "secret place". When you go there, he will give you some cards for you to protect his reputation by not telling the old man about all of his losses, There are also magazine clips on the floor. Try to get his Siren card from him.
Cross-dresser in Dollet:Go to Dollet and go to the pub with the man that has never been defeated in a card game. Stay on the first level and talk to the blonde lady. Ask if she is a man.
Watts gets hit by train in Timber:On Disc 1 when Watts talks to you in Timber, give the wrong password. He will start directing the base into the station and also get hit by it. The game will continue afterwards.
Alien abduction in Winhill:On Disc 1 after defeating NORG, use Balamb Garden to fly to a place on the map called Winhill. Outside the village, run around for a bit. You can see an alien ship abducting a cow.
Dancing soldiers on control panel:You can toy around a bit with the Missile Control Panel. Choose to go to the equipment inspection screen to see the equipment used by the Galbadian Army. Hold Triangle +Square and press Up or Down. The scene will switch to either a dancing Galbadian Soldier or Elite Soldier.
Lunch Lady's kid:if you talked to the Lunch Lady to the left in the Garden, she will tell you about her son and how he went out on his own. You can actually meet him after the Boss Battle in FH (with BGH251F2). In this part of the game, you will be left alone. Meet up with Irvine at the top of the elevator, then go back the area where you just fought the Boss and talk to the teenager in yellow. If you ask if he is the Lunch Lady's son he will board the Garden.
Laguna: Lunatic Pandora doors:When you become Laguna for the second time in the game (before Galbadia Garden) you will be in a weird Centra Ruin (its actually part of Lunatic Pandora). After walking around a bit you will end up in a room with three doors on the ground. Go to the upper right corner of the first one and you can break the handle. Leave, then return and try this on the one to the far right. It will not break yet. Also try it on the one to the far left. After that, you will reach a room near the exit and a little bomb is will be on the floor. Hit the red one first, then the blue/ The other doors will open now. You cannot do anything about this until on Disc 3, when you enter Lunatic Pandora with Zell and Edea. Find the room with three elevators, go down the third one, and take the stairs to the right. Climb down the ladder and head left. Keep going and you will end up in a room with the three doors Laguna worked with. You can now enter them and get some great items.
Laguna: Timber Maniacs page:You can read the Timber Maniacs you find at the computer in Balamb (second floor class room). Go the Garden Festival page and there should be a page called Sir Laguna's Page. You can only see it after you get Selphie back from the missile base mission.
Laguna: Traffic jam:When you first enter Deling City as Laguna, go to the hotel, then immediately leave. There will be a traffic jam on all roads because Laguna parked in the middle of the road.
Quistis: Shockwave Pulsar:To obtain the Blue magic Shockwave Pulsar, gain 100 Energy Crystals from either Elnoyles, Behemoths, or Ruby Dragons. Make sure you have GF Tonberry's Rare Item ability first. Morph the Energy Crystals into a Dark Matter and give it to Quistis to learn Shockwave Pulsar.
Zell: Pushups:When you are in Disc 1 at the Galbadian Garden, find the area where students doing pushups. When you are leaving, go back to that hallway and you should see Zell also doing pushups.
Zell: Kickboxing:On Disc 3 when you play as Zell, stand on the world map and do nothing. He starts to kickbox.
Zell: Entering his room:When Balamb Town is invaded by Galbadia, go to the Inn. Once you cannot get in, go to Zell's house and go to his room. He will let you in this time (and any other time after you cleared out Balamb).
Zell: Armageddon Fist:To use Zell's Armageddon Fist, simply use his two weakest moves (Punch Rush and Booya) repeatedly. It only takes fractions of seconds to do each move, and with good stats, each move does around 5000 HP damage. In four seconds you can do each move five times which is 50,000 damage. With 11 seconds, you can do over 150,000 damage. After casting Meltdown, Aura, and using only one Holy-War Omega Weapon can be defeated with 15 hits of Armageddon Fist only. Note: The strength stat should be at 255 for best results.

Propagator: Fastitocalon-F
Elvoret: Riona (must lose Ifrit to him then he will use Riona, then talk to him again and he will say he lost it to Martine (Mayor of FH).
Find Ko-Chocobo card in Disc 4:In order to find this card, you must have defeated all the CC group members, the Card King, and have met at least one time with the Card Queen. On the chain in Altemisia's Castle, head to the northern door (nearest to the castle) to return to the world map. There is a Chocobo forest near here. Go and get a Chocobo, then head to the island where you found Edea's home. There is a desert on this island where you will find the Ragnarok. Enter and you will find Shu near the entrance. Start a card game with her after the short dialogue, . Save before playing against her, as she is a difficult opponent.
Find level 6 and 7 Boss Cards:On Disc 2 in Fisherman's Horizon, immediately after saving Mayor Dobe, when Squall decides to look around by himself, go back to the mayor's house. Go to the right of the house where Squall and Rinoa will sit and talk. Martine will be there. He has a lot of level 6 and 7 Boss Cards. Be careful though, as he is a very good player and has a lot of good cards; He "confiscated all the cards from the students at Galbadia Garden." He will want to play for just one card, though. It will be to your benefit if you can push the rules to be diff.
Find level 8 Chicobo Card:Go to the beginners Chocobo Forest and find the mother Chocobo. Use the "Zinner" for finding Chocobo's and listen carefully until you heae a sound. Use the "Zinner" again to "Catch Chocobo" and the mother Chocobo will dig up some items for you. Repeat this at all six Chicobo forests, then head to the Chocobo Sanctuary in Esthar. By using the mother Chocobo you get in the Chocobo forest on Lenown Plains in Centra. When you arrive, all the mother Chicobos will do a dance. Talk to the baby Chocobo and he will give you the card.
Locations for Chocobo forests:
Tribia Peninsula, winter island
Tribia Peninsula, Sorbald Snowfield
Tribia Peninsula, Bika Snowfield
Centra Peninsula, Nectar Island
Centra Peninsula, Lenown Plains
Esthar Peninsula, Talle Mountains
Find the Gilgamesh Card for Holy Wars:It is very easy to get Gilgamesh's Card to get Holy Wars. If you have gotten the card before Disc 4 from Card King, refine it into 10 Holy Wars when you reache the Ragnarok in Disc 4. Make sure the rule use earlier is not too complicated. Open, Sudden Death, Elemental are acceptable. "Same" is still acceptable, but if "Plus" or "Random" is applied, it will be more difficult. Both Xu and Quistis have the card in the Ragnarok. It is up to you to play with either of them, but since Xu uses the rule applied earlier, it is an advantage to play with her instead of Quistis (who uses all the rules). Xu uses the card very frequently -- if it is not in your hand. It is possible to get 100 Holy Wars by this method.
Card mods:
Abbys Worm: 1 for 1 Windmill
Adamatoise: 3 for 1 Turtle Shell
Anacondour: 1 for 1 Venom Fang
Angelo: 1 for 100 Elixers
Bahamut: 1 for 100 Megalixers
Belhelmel: 1 for 1 Saw Blade
Bite Bug: 1 for 1 M: Stone Peice
Blitz: 1 for 1 Dynamo Stone
Bomb: 1 for 1 Bomb Fragment
Cactuar: 1 for 1 Cactus Thorn
Cocatrice: 1 for 1 Cocatrice Pinion
Creeps: 1 for 1 Coral Fragment
Regaining modded cards:Refine the rare cards desired, but not all of them. Defeat the Card Club Group before time compression occurs (when you fight the fake Sorceresses). Get the Ragnarok on Disc 4. Re-challenge all of the Card Club members. If you are lucky, your card will re-appear in somebody's hand in the group. Note: This may not work with the character cards or level 9 GF cards.
Card game tips:Save the game before playing an opponent you have not played before. If you use rare cards someone might defeat you and take them. Card many enemies so that you can card-mod them to get items. Also, play many people to get items, such as wizard stones. Never give up a rare card - keep trying until you are successful. Be patient if you cannot card a good enemy, just keep trying.
Once you get Quistis and some Bomb cards, go to Balamb near the docks. You will see a man leaning over or a girl and a dog in the area. Challenge them for level 5 cards. To create the best strategy for them, have 3 Marlboros, one Elastoise, and one Biggs and Wedge. First, use one Marlboro to the DL corner. Use another to the CL. Use the Elastoise to either the UR or CR corner. Do the CR only if you cannot place it UR. Then, depending on where they put their last card, is where you should use the Biggs and Wedge card or the final Marlboro card. Using this strategy, you will never lose with these two opponents. The worst you can do is tie. However, this is only for the beginning parts of the game. The best time to do this is immediately after the Fire Caves. You can get Squall's second best sword easily by doing this at the very beginning of the game.
Missed cards:The following trick can be used to get cards missed during the CC Quest and the Queen of Cards Quest. On Disc 4, all the CC members are scattered around the Ragnorok, but only if you have defeated the CC King earlier in the game. To get cards missed in the Queen of Cards Quest, you will find the Queen on the southern peninsula of the Esthar continent. She is not visible on the world map, so you will have to do some searching. Note: The CC members use various rules from around the world. The Queen will always use all the rules.
You can find the Card Queen on the Abadan Plains, south of Esthar. She will have any card you would have obtained during the Queen of Cards side quest in the previous discs. Go to any of the CC members or the Card Queen and win any rare card from him/her. Using Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, you can refine it into a rare item(s). Repeat this to get many rare items.
To complete your card collection, in disc three, go to Dargeleo and play cards with a red-haired man (he owns all the ship cards). Then, in disc four, go to Treno and enter the card club. Every card-player has different kind of card (i.e. Mobols, Summons, Bugs, etc.)
You can initially get Angelo's card from Watts at Forest Owl's train. If you missed that opportunity, you can get it at the White SeeD Ship from Watts.
Go to Shumi Village. Go to the elevator to the city and face Artisan. He has Boss cards such Tiamat, and even better ones.
Get a card back:To get a card back, challenge your opponent again. There is a 50% chance that he or she might use the card you lost.
Obtaining rare cards:To obtain rare cards like Iguon, Tri-point, Gargantua, Jumbo Cactuar, etc. just look at the bottom right corner of your card stats when you win one. A list of two monsters will appear. Keep carding the first monster until you get the card which has the monster listed. Once you have got the card and you want another one, keep carding the second monster until you get one. Then, repeat this process.
When you are about to get a rare card (Minimog, Qustis, Zell, ect.), save your game. There is a good chance that your opponent will use that card again.
Early cards:For some early cards, make sure you talk to the man on the second floor near the elevator. He will give you some starting cards allowing you to begin playing people from this point forward.
Easily removing one card game rule:Go to the region that you want to remove the rule. Ask people to play the game. After the menu that shows the region, "Trade Rule" will appear. Quit the card game without playing. Repeat this several times until the menu displays that the rule "... is abandoned from this region".
Do not get a hard card rule in a new region:When you go to a new region and ask a card player to play, he/she will say "I seem you know the rules of this unfamiliar region, let's play with ???'s rule". Do not accept the challenge, and talk to the player several times until he/she only says the desired rule before accepting the challenge.
Easy Card Queen's quest:The Card Queen quest may be difficult part of the game because of her random movements and her difficulty as an opponent. Use the following information to save time. You should know that she wants the Minimog, Sacred, Doomtrain, Kochocobo and Alexander cards. When you play against her, you should give her every card she wants in as few card games as possible. When she finally goes to Dollet she will reveal all the locations of the rare cards at once. There is a small probability that she will head to Dollet when you give her one of the previously mentioned cards. If you want to save time again, keep in mind that:
When she is in Balamb, she will probably go to Deling City (but sometimes if you lose the Siren card to her she might go to Dollet).
When she is in Deling City, she will probably go to F.H.
When she is in Dollet, she will probably go to Deling City.
When she is in the Shumi village, she will probably go to Dollet (and sometimes Deling City)
When she is in Winhill, she will probably go to Esthar.
When she is in Esthar, she will probably go to the space.
But when she is in the space, she will probably go to a random place.
Play cards with Zell:When Squall takes charge of Balamb Garden, compose a party without Zell. If you go to the first floor, you will find him near the library. You can now play cards with him. He is not a great opponent and he does not have good cards.
Getting the Debuchchocobo card in Disc 4:Defeat all the CC group members, the Card King, and meet at least one time with the Card Queen. On the chain in Altemisia's Castle, head to the northern door (nearest to the castle) and you will find yourself on the world map. There's a chocobo forest near here. Get a chocobo, then head to the island where you found Edea's home. There is a desert on this island where you will find the Ragnarok. Go in and have a card game against CC group Diamond (the two girls that always talked each other at Balamb Garden in the main hall). To find them, head to the control room. Take the elevator and go straight ahead after the CC group Joker. Take the stairs on the right.
Best Cards:The best cards are Diablo, Vysage, Death Claw, and Tonberry.
3 2
Example: Tonberry 4 6 vs. 4 7 Death Claw
4 4
Since 6 and 4 are the closest, 6 is going to flip 4's card because 6 is bigger than 4. However, it is impossible to flip an A because A's are the best. If you see a card with A, avoid it unless you find a weaker side of the card that you can flip.
Easy opponent:Go to Timber. In the back alley that leads to the TV tower is a drunk lying on the side of the streets. He is a terrible opponent and is extremely easy to card, but also has good cards. Since he is next to a save point, if you lose to him you can reset to recover the lost card.

Guardian Forces
Guardian Force locations:
AlexanderDraw from Edea at the end of Disc 2.
BahamutGo to Battleship Island (in the lower left part of the world map). You must have the Ragnorak. Land there and go inside. Walk only when the light is not flashing. Head to the core. Bahamut will ask questions. First, answer "It's not our will to fight". Battle the Ruby Dragon, then answer "Never". Battle another Ruby Dragon, then answer "It's our nature". It is the third choice; hidden under "None of your business". Defeat Bahamut and he will join you.
BrothersDefeat them in The "Tomb of the Unkown King" outside Deling.
CactuarUse Ragnarok to fly to the island on the outside of a desert; you will see a cactus teleporting around. Walk up to it. Be careful, as its 10,000 needles do 100,000 damage.
CarbuncleDraw from Gargoyle/Lizard bosses attacking Rinoa at end of Disc 1.
CerberusDraw from Cerberus during the Galbadia Garden invasion. He is at the center glowing circle near the entrance. Alternately, defeat him in Galbadia Garden during Disc 2.
ChocoboCatch and name a Chocobo, then use Item Gysahl Greens during a battle.
DiablosBefore going to Timber, talk to headmaster Cid until you get the Magic Lamp. Save the game, use the lamp, and defeat Diablos. Draw and store Demi then cast it. Do not draw and immediately cast, as he will not cast Curaga on your character.
DoomtrainGet the "Solomons Ring" from Tears Point before Lunatic Pandora is summoned. A recommended time to do so is right before you are supposed to meet Dr. Odine at the Launch Pad. Then, "Mug" Marlboros outside the Sorceress Shrine until you have six Marlboro Tentacles. Note: Marlboros are also at the Island Closest to Heaven. Purchase 60 Remedies and use Alexander's "Med Lev Up" skill to make six Remedy+s. Get six Iron Pipes by using "Mug on the yellow/green monkey monsters outside Deling. Note: If you cannot get back to Deling you may have to wait until after you have the Ragnarok to obtain them. After getting all the items use the Solomon Ring from the item menu to receive Doomtrain.
EdenAfter defeating Bahamut, return to the Ragnorak and enter the cockpit. Return to Battleship Island with Zell in your party. Go down the roots and examine the machine. After it uses the 4 RSP, go down a level. Use 1 RSP on every level until you reach the machinery which Zell ask to handle. Let him and he will open the door to the excavation site. Prepare for some very hard battles and go down to the very end. You should have at least 10 RSP. Activate the machine to battle Ultima Weapon. Draw Eden from it.
GilgameshGet Odin before the end of Disc 3 and Seifer will kill him. Gilgamesh will replace him.
IfritDefeat him in the Fire Cavern outside Balamb Garden as part of the test.
LeviathanDraw from NORG after destroying his pods.
Minimog(PocketStation required) Receive Minimog during "Chocobo Adventure" PocketStation mini-game.
Mumba(PocketStation required) Defeat "Chocobo Adventure".
OdinDefeat him in Centra Ruins. He will appear randomly at the beginning of battles.

PhoenixUse the Phoenix Pinion item during a battle.
QuezacotlFrom Squall's computer in the classroom at the start of the game.
ShivaFrom Squall's computer in the classroom at the start of the game.
SirenDraw from the Boss at the top of Dollet Satellite during the SeeD exam.
TonberryDefeat Odin. Then fight 20 Tonberrys at top of elevator or open place, not at torch lit place at its base. You will fight the Tonberry King.
Drawing GFs:One of the most commonly overlooked things to do in a heated battle is drawing from Bosses. By using the Draw command, you may find a hidden GF in a Boss. Try drawing from the Evorlet in disc 1 to find Siren. Draw Leviathan from Norg in disc 2. Draw Pandemonia during the battle with Fujin and Rajin in disc 2. Draw Alexander from Edea during the second battle with her. Draw Eden from Ultima Weapon on the artificial island where Bahumut was defeated.
Bahamut and Eden:Once the Ragnarok is obtained, fly to the bottom left corner of the world map. Set down on the landing spot to find a small artificial island. Enter and defeat Bahumut to obtain that GF.
Defeating Bahumut:Get your Str up to 255, junction GF Cactuar, and learn the Kamikazi ability. Kill the three dragons using Aura and Diablos, as it takes 9999 off of them. Simply cure to full health if any health is lost and Kamikazi yourself. It will take 60,000 damage and defeat Bahumut.
Fly to the research center in the southwest bottom corner of the map if you have not been there before. Zell will say something when he is finished. Go in. Note: You must be at level 80 or above and have Ragnorok. When you defeat three Ruby Dragons and another message appears, press Triangle. Put Aura on Irvine and use AP or Pulse ammunition. About nine or eleven shots will kill him.
Getting Brothers:Go to the east of Delling City to the Tomb Of The Unknown King. Use the following directions straight from going into the tomb.
Go forward once, then turn right.
Take the turn, then take a right.
Go up once, and take a right. Then, go forward until you fight Sacred.
After defeating Sacred, go out of the room and go forward once.
Take a right, go around the turn, then take a right.
Go forward and take a right. Keep going forward and release the flood gate.
Leave the room and go forward until you reach a dead end.
Go back once and take a left.
Go forward twice and take a left.
Go until you can take a right and do so.
Go forward twice and activate the switch in the back.
Go out of the room and go forward to the dead end.
Go back to the first junction.
Take a left and keep taking lefts until you find a drawbridge.
Go across the bridge and battle Sacred and Minotaur. Defeat them and they will join you.
Summoning Carbuncle quickly:Get the Dragon Skin item to decrease the summoning time for Carbuncle.
Choosing Gilgamesh's sword:In any battle that Gilgamesh is summoned, when his four swords come down from the sky and stick into the ground, rapidly press the D-pad toward the sword you want him to use. If done correctly, he will use that sword.
Defeating Cerebus:If you have Squall's Gunblade, take at least 1000 damage with or with out pressing R1. Cast Mad Rush on everyone and take heavy blows on him. Make sure that your HP levels are fairly high, and your other party members are able to take at least 400 of damage.
Defeating Diablos:First, cast Blind on him. Follow this by drawing Demi spell into your inventory. From your spell inventory, cast the Demis on Diablos. Diablos will respond by casting Curaga on that character. Note: This will not work if you do not stock his Demis.
Cast Protect and Shell on your characters and then use the Siren, Shiva and Queezacotl GF.
After getting the Lamp from Headmaster Cid and using it, make sure your party has Draw equiped. When fighting Diablos, use draw to get ?????. It is Demi. Keep casting Demi on Diablos until it does almost no damage, then use some of your GFs to defeat him.
Wait until you get Carbuncle from the Iguions, then fight Diablos. When you start the battle, automatically take out Carbuncle so he will use Reflect then use Blind so he will not ram you when he is mad. Next, summon Shiva a couple of times. After that, he will use Demi which is very effective against him. Use your GFs or Scan Diablos to see how many times you have to hit him.
When you are ready to use the magical lamp and fight Diablos, make sure you have Quistis with the Missile limit break acquired by using the Missile item. When in the battle, have Quistis limit break. Use the Missile limit break and it can do as much 9,999 HP damage. The least amount of damage should be about 3,200 HP. Diablos only has about 21,000 HP.
Summoning Diablos quickly:Get the Steel Orb item to decrease the summoning time for Diablos.
Getting Eden easily:Do not worry about the Ultimate Weapon if you have reached Disc 4. Go through the Bosses in Ultimecia's castle as intended. When you reach Tiamat, you can draw Eden from him without having to go through the Ultimate Weapon. You can also draw Leviathan and Siren from the Bosses in Ultimecia's Castle.
Make sure you have Auras and Lion Heart. Once you find your way to the Ultima Weapon, save at the secret save point. When you enter the battle, draw Eden immediately. Then use Aura on Squall and use his limit break. If the final is Lion Heart, and results 9999 damage per hit, Ultima Weapon will be defeated. You may want to use Light Pillar on each character because Ultima Weapon's speed is incredible.
Do over 9999 damage with Eden:Get Eden on a hidden island at the bottom left corner of the map. Draw Eden from Ultima Weapon. After getting Eden, let it learn the Boost ability. After that, fight any monster and keep pressing Square. Get to 250 times by pressing Square. After that, keeping pressingSquare, but the number will not increase. Wait until you cannot boost any further and watch the damage. It should be between 19,000 to 36,000, depending on what Eden's level.
Defeating Ifrit:Go to the forest outside the fire cavern and draw Blizzard from the caterpillar creature. When going to battle Ifrit, make sure one of the abilities for the character with Blizzard has the ability Magic and the other has Shiva equipped. When fighting him. use the Blizzards and summon Shiva simultaneously.
Getting Ifrit's Calling Card:Enter the Fire Cavern and choose a 30 minute time limit. Have a character with Shiva and another character with Lightning before reaching Ifrit. Keep the character with Shiva attacking while the other character casts Lightning.
Defeating Jumbo Cactuar:Have 3000+ HP, and a weapon that takes at least 1000-2000 damage. First, cast Cerberus, and have Triple available. Cast three protects on your party as well as Regen. Cast Berserk and Haste on the person who has the best attack and weapon. That character will take about 9999+ before Cactuar uses 10,000 needles. Cast Full-Life on the character that was killed, then cast Aura on your party. Keep attacking with everything available until Jumbo Cactuar is defeated. To help even more, junction Ultima to Rinoa's Mag to increase it over 100+, then cast Angel Wing. If she casts Meteor it will take off 4000 to 5000+ with each hit.
Junction all your character's weapons with 100 Water magic and have their strength at 255, and body strength at 200. Have Life 2 magic or Alexander's Revive on every character. Have Meltdown and Magic Command equipped on one character. Enter the battle. Cast Meltdown on the Cactuar, then just attack. You should deal 9999 damage on each turn. After ten hits, Jumbo Cactuar should be defeated. For an easier battle, cast Meltdown first, then use Renzokuken. One turn will be enough. Do not worry about his 10000 Needles attack, as you should have Recovery or Life 2. Revive the dead character and keep attacking.
This battle is about quick thinking and timed attacks. The party you should use should have Squall, Rinoa, and Quistis. If you have been training Zell instead of Quistis, you can substitute him for her. In preparation for this battle, have Squall's strength anywhere above 200, and have his attack junctioned with Water. You also must have the Lion Heart Limit Break and have him equipped with the Darkside Command. Rinoa should have plenty of Aura spells and either Recover or Revive. The character that does not have Revive must have plenty of Life and Full Life spells. Quistis should have which ever Command Rinoa does not have. She should also have plenty of Aura spells. Quistis also must have the Blue Magic Mighty Guard, which can be obtained from Behemoths in the Deep Sea Research Center. Save on the island, and then run into the giant green Cactaur to begin the battle. Jumbo Cactaur has one main counterattack called 10,000 needles which brings you to instant death. When this happens, quickly get Quistis or Rinoa to revive the downed character. With your party fully revived, have Rinoa cast Aura on Quistis so she can do Mighty Guard. Then have Squall do Darkside on the Cactaur. Since Water is junctioned to his attack, the damage will be 9,999. The Cactaur also cannot counterattack it. When Rinoa's bar fills up again, have her cast Aura on Squall so he can hopefully do Lion Heart, which will most likely finish him off in two turns. Do this for the rest of the battle, while still having Quistis cast Mighty Guard and Rinoa act as a medic. When a screen appears and states that Cactaur is Hesitating, stop any attacks that bring damage to him, with the exception of Lion Heart. If you manage to destroy all 600,000 HP and not have him run away, you will unlock him as a GF.
Getting Gilgamesh:Get Odin before the battle with Seifer on Disc 3. As soon as you have control of the mobile Balamb Garden, fly to the Centra Crater and you should find the Centra Ruins. A clock will start upon entering, and you must find and defeat Odin within the time set. After defeating him, he will show up often at the beginning of difficult battles (apart from Boss and GF battles). Storm clouds form in the sky and rain falls down. Odin will approach the enemy on his horse and cut them with his lethal Zantetsuken sword. He slashes the enemy three times, each time a Japanese symbol is displayed on the screen, altogether, the symbols say "Zantetsuken". The sword slices the enemy completely, and you win the battle. However, on Disc 3 in the Lunatic Pandora, the End of Disc battle is with Seifer. Odin will appear at the start to vanquish Seifer, and his animation is exactly the same as usual, but as Odin charges forward, the screen now switches to Seifer instead, and the change occurs. Seifer slices Odin vertically in half, and Odin will split into two. This time, the symbols will appear with Seifer, but there will be two extra symbols at the end. Altogether, the symbols say "Zantetsuken Reverse". The screen shows Odin's Zantetsuken sword flying into the air. Then a hand will grab the sword. Squall will be shocked at Odin's death. He says, "Odin!?" and Seifer replies by saying, "Hah! I won't give up that easy. Show me what you got Squall, let me add another scar for you!". As always, Seifer is weak against Poison, so use Bio magic or the Doomtrain GF. Soon after, the being who grabbed the sword, Gilgamesh, will appear. He will talk to Seifer, "You gave me? The 4th one? Huh? Was it you?...Then Dodge my sword...Eat this!!" Gilgamesh executes the Zantetsuken on Seifer with one swing of the sword, pushing him back. Gilgamesh will be your replacement for Odin from now on. During a battle Gilgamesh may appear: The sky will open up and a few knives will fall and stick into the ground. Gilgamesh will then make his appearance. "Zantetsuken" will appear at the top of the screen, then Gilgamesh will take a swing at the enemy with the sword before disappearing. Even though Gilgamesh can appear at a Boss battle, he will normally miss the Boss. If you want to keep Odin, wait until you finish the battle with Seifer, then fly the Raganok to Centra Ruins.
Gilgamesh's abilities:If you lose GF Odin through Seifer cutting him down with the "Zantetsuken Reverse", you will obtain GF Gilgamesh, who you may at first think is not on par with Odin's skills. Look at Odin's Card followed by that of Gilgamesh. You will see Odin's Card is of a higher level, meaning that Odin himself would be more reliable (because Odin carries the Zantetsuken sword which will always instantly slice the enemy in half upon striking). However, as GF Gilgamesh appears in battle, you will realize he has more "scope" than Odin due to the following actions. Gilgamesh can appear at any time during both random and Boss battles, unlike Odin who would only appears at the start of a battle, and never during a Boss fight. There is no difference in accuracy or hit between the two GFs, resulting in Gilgamesh never missing the Zantetsuken (except for Boss battles). Zantetsuken is the most common attack Gilgamesh chooses. Also, Gilgamesh is likely to use three other attacks beside the Zantetsuken. When Gilgamesh drops down, four swords stick into the ground. One of these is actually the Zantetsuken. He often picks up the Zantetsuken if you have a high Luck stat. The Zantetsuken is the only sword that misses a Boss, but there is a chance that you will see him instead pick up one of the other three, such as the Masamune (which often deals a heavy blow). There is only one sword he may choose that is no use. For the unlucky, Gilgamesh will pick up a rip-off of the Excalibur, aptly named the Excalipoor, which is quite simply a joke. Against a Marlboro, Excalipoor deals just 1 HP damage. Therefore, Gilgamesh's strength is his range of attacks, while at the same time, his resulting ability to choose a weapon other than Zantetsuken is his weakness.
Defeating Odin:Triple is one of the best magic to junction. It should be drawn from Odin. Do not worry about the time remaining in the battle as long has you have more than thirteen minutes remaining at the start of the battle. Auto junction your magic to Mag to allow your characters to draw faster. Give all the Triples that were drawn to the remaining three character who did not fight Odin before fighting Cerberus because he has Triple magic. Note: Cerberus with a low level will not have Triple.
Get Cactaur with Kamikaze learned. Go to any shop and by 22 Phoenix Downs and go to the Cetra Ruins. Work your way up and take time to fight. When facing Odin, have the member with Cactaur's Kamikaze use it. It will instantly cause approximately 22,590 in damage and kill him. Additionally, since the time limit is now gone, you can go downstairs and fight 20 Tonberrys with Kamikaze. Note: Do not use Kamikaze on the 20th Tonberry, as the Tonberry King will appear.
A party composed of Zell, Squall, and Irvine are preferred. If you choose these members, make sure Zell has good weapons and knows Dolphin Blow. Make sure Squall has the Flame Saber or better. Make sure Irvine has a good supply of Normal Ammo and Quick Ammo, or better. All members should have the Draw and Magic commands, as well as a good supply of Haste Magic. Also, If possible, have Meltdown ready. Make sure you junction your best magic to strength, as you will need to inflict major damage on Odin in as little time as possible. Once Balamb Garden is mobile, go to the Centra Contenent.Outside of Centra Ruins, have your characters' HP lowered into the yellow. Equip ENC-None, one of Diablos' moves. When you fight Odin, have Zell draw Triple from Odin and cast it on Irvine. Have Irvine cast Haste on the whole party. Use Limit breaks to destroy Odin quickly. If you are short on time, use the "Abusing Duel" trick. Also, if your characters are high level and have very good attack power (2000 damage a hit with each character), you can use Ifrit's Mad Rush command. This will easily take Odin out if your party is high level.
Reaching Omega Weapon:Bring the party that you wish to use to fight Omega to the fountain and switch to the other party. Bring the party to the room right before the painting room. Ring the bell hanging at the ceiling by using the line near the screen. Quickly switch to the other party and enter the room with the piano within 58 seconds.
Defeating Omega Weapon:The other 300 Ultima can be drawn from Omega Weapon. Just junction your magic to Mag and make sure your party does not have anyone with a level that can be killed by a Lv 5 Death. Use a Holy War as soon as the battle begins. You may now draw from him as needed. Remember to reuse the Holy War as soon as the effect wears off. Omega Weapon also has Meteor, Flare and Holy, which are good magics. You can always run away from him with the ability to fight later. Just follow the same procedure used to reach him the first time for a rematch. His level is always 100. Just have sufficient Life and Curaga magic to keep your party alive. Remember to save before you fight him.
Use the Zell, Irvine and Squall's party. Irvine should have at least 8 Pulse Ammos left after remodeling Squall's Lionheart. Have 100 Demolition and AP Ammo in your inventory. Have 10 Holy Wars refined from a Gilgamesh card. Have the three characters' life in the yellow. Use a Holy War at the beginning of the battle. Then keep using Limit Breaks against him. For Zell, keep using Booya, Heel Drop, Booya, Heel Drop in that sequence; it should cause more than 100,000 damage for each turn if you are fast enough. Reuse a Holy War after the effect is over. He should be down within 15 minutes if the Str of your entire party is around 250. Remember his level is always 100.
There is also a trick to easily defeat this monster if your Selphie at Level 100. Put Selphie in your party had have her Limit Break usable. Wait for a moment when no one is moving and open the PlayStation lid . This should stop any movement and you can slot until you get a 'The End' magic and one hit kill. Note: It is not recommended that you open the lid of your PlayStation during game play. Use this trick at your own risk.
Have Squall, Quistis and Zell in your party. Squall must be at level 100, strength 255, spirit 200, HP 9999, all the other stats above 100, and have the Lionheart. Quistis should have all her stats above 150, except speed (over 100) and must have 9999 HP and the Alexander's Recovery. Zell must have the Item command equipped and all his stats above 150. Change Laguna card to obtain 100 Holy War (for invincibility). Have Zell use the Holy War on Quistis and then on himself. Have Quistis cast Aura on Squall. Have Zell cast Meltdown on Omega Weapon. Have Squall use his R1 Trigger (PlayStation version). When Omega Weapon attacks (and kills Squall only as Quistis and Zell are invincible), have Quistis cast Revive on Squall. Then, have Zell cast Aura on Squall and restart from point repeat the procedure from the R1 Trigger. When the invincibility ends, have Zell use Holy War again. If done correctly, Omega weapon will be defeated after Squall has six turns.
You can defeat Omega without changing Laguna's Card or open your PlayStation. You can find two Holy Wars by stealing from Edea at the end of Disc 2, and from Seifer at the end of Disc 3. Save them until the fight with Omega Weapon. Have Selphie at level 100 in your party. She should have Life 2 or Revive magic. Another character should have Aura and the Item command available. At the start of the battle, immediately use Aura followed by Holy War on Selphie. Have her limit usable and if you have her The End magic, use it. If you cannot find it repeatedly press Circle to have another stock of magic. Remember that the farther you slot, the less probabilities you have to get The End. If you cannot find in about 30 slots, change stock by pressing Circle again until you see the special's white arrow re-appear. You will get a completely different stock. If the invincibility ends, use Aura again and then the other Holy War on her. If the other characters are dead, revive only the one that has Aura magic and the Item command -- you cannot lose time with the Omega. One of her attacks is enough to wipe out your entire party, so be quick. This trick requires a bit of luck, but you should have enough time to slot until you can find The End. Remember that if the effect of the second Holy War fades out, your party will be destroyed. If this happens try to escape, but then you will no longer have the Holy Wars - it may be more convenient to reset your game and try again.
Before the battle, make sure that you get the Laguna card. Modify ut into 100 Heros and try to have Lionheart for Squall. Also have your characters at full health. When the battle begins, keep healing your characters with Curaga to make sure that they stay at 9999 hit points. When Omega uses his burning move it will take off 9998 points. Have each character use one Hero on themselves and Omega will not be able to damage them. This will allow your characters to keep hitting him with limits as they are only at 1 HP. After about three to four limits with each character, have them use another Hero and it should be defeated with no one dying.
Have Selphie in your party and have her equipped with Strange Vision (her best weapon). Get her HP low enough to get the item "The End" and use it on him. It will kill every monster including Bosses except dead monsters.
Use the following trick to defeat Omega Weapon without refining any cards and using just one Hero. Early in the game, steal a Hero from Seifer on Disc 2 or 3. Then, in Ultimecia Castle, add Selphie to your party. Have the "Item" and, if desired, "Initiative" ability junctioned to each character. Enter the battle and immediately have someone cast Aura on Selphie and then use a Hero. If you do not do it in this order, you will not be able to cast Aura on her, Keep pressing Circle until you activate her limit break and go through her slots until you find "The End". Make sure you do this slowly, since it is very easy to skip. Just use the attack and Omega Weapon will be instantly defeated. To increase your chances of getting "The End", you could raise Selphie to level 100. This could be done easily on "The Island Closest to Heaven" by having Quistis in your party and using her "Degenerator" Blue Magic. Another way is to junction 100 Ultimas to her Luck. Also, you could junction GF abilities that would raise her Luck.
Getting Shiva and Quetzacoatal:After Quistis's class, go back to the computer and turn it on. Go to Tutorial (NEW). After some information is displayed, it will give you Shiva and Quetzacoatal. If you do not do this, once you leave Balamb Garden, Quistis should give them to you.
Defeating Tiamat:Tiamat is found in Ultemicia's Castle. You can absorb his most devastating attack, the Dark Flare, by junctioning elemental defense with 100 Ultima and 100 Life 2. You can put up any other junction that has your character absorbing the basic elemental attacks Fire, Ice and Bolt. (Life and 100 Flare Magic or 100 Meteor and 100 Ice, Fire, and Bolt 3 if you have four junction Elem-Def.) Altough you may think his Dark Flare is a non-Elemental attack cause of the large damage and the heavy load, this is not true. It is similar to the Magic Breath enemy skill from Final Fantasy 7.
Defeating Tonberry:To get the Tonberry GF you must fist defeat nineteen Tonberries. You can defeat them in as many visits as needed. Equip the Cactuar GF's Kamikaze ability to the person that has the highest HP/Str. Defeat eighteen Tonberries using Kamikaze. Then, go out of the Centra Ruins, use a Tent, and save on the world map. Use the "Obtaining various magic" hint and stock Aura, Meteor, Full Life, Tornado ,etc. and equip at least 50 of them on each character. Equip a strong magic to your Mag, and various abilities which have Mag on them (such as Mag+60, etc.) to get everyone's Mag up to 255. Un-equip the Kamikaze ability. Defeat the final Tonberry using normal methods such as Aura to trigger Lionheart and other limit breaks. When that Tonberry is defeated, the king Tonberry will drop down into the battlefield. Use Angel Wing, Squall's limit breaks, GFs, Zell's limit breaks Ultima, Meteor, and Cure to restore your HP up after the Chef's Knife, and Full-Life to restore the dead characters from Everyone's Grudge. The Tonberry GF will say "I-I-I-m Sorry" when it is defeated. You can equip the Enc-None ability after the battle to avoid more Tonberries.
To defeat the regular Tonberries on the way to face the Tonberry GF, keep Squall's HP low. Keep switching turns until you can use his special move. Two times will be enough if his strength is above 150. If he dies, revive him with a Life magic to keep his HP low. After defeating twenty Tonberi in the place where you get Odin, you will face King Tonberry. You can easily finish him by junctioning 100 Death to your Status Defense, so you will never die with the Death spell. Squall should have the Lionheart and Strength at 255. Cast Aura on him and Meltdown on Tonberi. Using the Renzokuken two times should be enough to kill him, even if you do not use the Lion Heart. An alternate method is to have one of your characters (besides Squall) with a strength at 255. Use Kamikaze with that character and it should deal 60,000 damage. Then cast Aura on Squall and use Renzokuken. Even if you trigger very badly you should defeat him in one turn.
To defeat normal Tonberries, use a boosted Pademona and Leviathan, while you use Diablos to take 5450 HP of them each time (about 9450 HP taken with one complete turn). Casting Meltdown on them increases Pandemona and Leviathan's damage to about 3000 to 4000 HP. When you fight the King Tonberry, start by stocking loads of Full-life and Curaga. Casting them directly from him makes them less effective. His Junk and its Sharp attack will take off either and makes you close to being killed - have Full Life ready to be casted (Cerberus helps here). He has over 84000 HP. Having the Brothers 20% HP/40% HP/80% HP also helps.
To get the Tonberry GF, go to the Centra Ruins where you can also find Odin. Defeat 18 Tonberries with Cactuar's Kamikaze ability. Saving the game at this point is recommended. You have to defeat 19 or 20 Tonberries to make the Tonberry King appear. The number of Chef's Knives you have has nothing to do with when he appears. To defeat the 19th or 20th Tonberry, use Doomtrain or cast Meltdown. Afterwards, use the boosted Leviathan and Diablos to take off 9999 HP each time. This should kill it in about four turns. When you defeat the last Tonberry, the Tonberry King will show himself. Use Doomtrain or Meltdown, then use the boosted Leviathan to take off 9999 HP (if you get the boost between 150 and 170). Diablos has no affect on him. Equip someone with Item and use a Hero on whoever has Leviathan. Make sure the person with Leviathan has Recover equipped. Use Meteor and Ultima on the Tonberry King. If Squall gets weak, use his limit break before recovering him. Zell's limit break is also effective. Use Scan on the Tonberry King occasionally so you can use Kamikaze to finish him off. It will take off as much HP as it did on most Tonberries. When the Tonberry King, is defeated he will fall over like normal Tonberries, then he will turn into a normal Tonberry and say, "I...I'm sorry." and join your party. He has Haggle, Familiar, LV Up, LV Down and other abilities. Look out for the Tonberry King's "It's Sharp!" attack and Junk.
Defeat 18 Tonberries by using Diablos three times and Ifrit and Quezacoatal six times, which takes off about 22,000 HP. Cure yourself and prepare for a good battle. When you meet the 19th Tonberry quickly defeat him and Tonberry King will appear. Diablos will not work, but keep useing Ifrit and Quezacoatal. Summon Cerebus to have Triple. Have a lot of Holys if Shiva is badly damaged.
Getting missed G.F.s:Every Guardian at Ultemicia's Castle has a GF that can be drawn.
Rush G.F Command (from Ifrit and Eden):Although it may seem that it is a useless command, Rush allow you to cast Berserk, Haste, and Protect on your entire party. If you have high strength stats (above 150) and high HP (above 7000), you will find out that it is useful against junk monsters(Lesmathor, Cokatoris). Against high HP monsters, a high HP should protect you enough and high strength stats with Berserk should allow you to deal out damage of 9999 HP a turn. With the aid of Haste, you can take charge of most of the monsters on the Islands Closest To Heaven and Hell. Junction 100 Drain magic to your Status attack so you can heal yourself as you fight.
Frequent Odin appearances (PlayStation version):Note: A dual analog controller is required for this trick. Get into a normal battle and repeatedly move the Left-Analog-stick and Right-Analog-stick Up and Down in opposite directions (Left-Analog-stick is Up while Right-Analog-stick is Down and vice versa) exactly when you hear the monster's sounds begin. This should increase the chances that Odin will appear in the battle.
GF Boost (PlayStation version):The following trick can be used with any GF that has learned Boost. Cast a GF. Hold Selectwhen the blue bar disappears and the character casts the GF. A hand in the bottom right corner of the screen will appear. Notice the circle icon under the pointed finger. When the icon is showing, press Circle rapidly. Stop when the circle icon has an X over it. Try to get the numbers located beside the icon (which starts at around 70) to 100. Depending on the strength and weakness of the target, the GFs attack can take up to 9999 HP off of each opponent.
Make sure all the GFs that can learn the Boost ability can do so. Use a controller with a turbo feature and set the turbo function to Square. Just hold Select + Square buttons and release when the red "X" appears. This should give you about twice as much damage than normal.
When in a battle and you summon a GF, try to press Select. If you have learned the summoned GF "Boost", you will see a little hand pointing at the Square button. Start pressing Square rapidly, and the amount of boost will increase. If you can get the boost number up to about 200 points, the GF's attack will be almost doubled. This trick works with every GF with the ability to learn "Boost GF". Sometimes, depending on level, your GF will be able to inflict over 9,999 HP of damage. Note: Be careful -- if you press Square when an "X" shows up on the little hand, your boost will decrease and you have to start again. The "X" appears three times, and if you are quick, you can avoid it. If you are having trouble getting over 200 or even getting the maximum amount, 250 points, use a controller with an auto-fire feature.

When you reach the downward slope however, walk so its pounding will not knock you off balance, then run. On the bridge it will cut you off. Run in the other direction. Monsters
Defeating Cactaur:Junction 100 Water to Squall's weapon and to everyone else, Junction Spd +20%, Spd+40%, etc.
Defeating Behemoth:Behemoths can be found in Ultima Weapon's cave (Warship Island) in a room with a structure similar to a fountain and a Magic Stone on the north-east corner. If you have a character with a junction Status attack, get 100 Pain magic and simply attack him to cause all three status ailments in a row. Sometimes you need to attack him more than twice, but it is worth it. Poison will deal out a lot of damage, Blind makes his physical attack useless, and Silence prevent his Bad Habit to cast Meteor each time you attack. Next, if he is at low levels, level up him with Tonberyy's Level Up ability and store as much Meteor and Flare as needed. If you are lucky and have Bahamut's Rare Items ability, you may get Sparkling Energy from him at the end of the battle. Using Steal, you can get Barrier System.
Defeating Diablos:The moment Cid gives you the Magical Lamp, use it. Laguna, Kiros and Ward are weaker than Squall, Zell and Selphie; and Laguna's limit break is no match for Squall's. Make sure you have stocked up on Blinds (100 of them recommended). Failing that, stocked Doubles will aid you in more efficient curing for those with low HP. If Squall or Zell are low on HP, let them unleash at least one Limit Break before deciding to cure. The amount of Demis to be drawn will be considerably low. Wait for a characters HP to be lowered before using the Demi on Diablos, as the Curaga is put to better use this way. When choosing offensive magic aside from Demi, opt for Double Blizzards.
Defeating Elnoyle:To fight Elnoyle easily without running about, just go to Esthar and find the man who is about to commit suicide. He is located approximately five screens from the Esthar Presidential Palace. Talk to the man, he will laugh and reveal that he is not a man, but an Elnoyle. After defeating him, walk off the screen and return and he will be there again.
During Disc 4, take the Ragnarok and press Select until the large map appears. Select Esther/Airstation as your destination. Once you get there, press X when you are above a circular platform. You will find yourself in Esther again. Go down when your characters are mobile again. When you reach a fork in the road, go down and keep heading in that direction until you encounter across one of those mobile platforms that take you to other places. You should see flashing arrows on the ground above the platform. Go in that direction. You are now in the area of Elnoyle. Go down the steps, and there should be a brownish-colored freak on the edge of the walkway. He will laugh at you once you talk to him then you will immediately enter a battle. This trick is useful for getting the Energy Crystals for Irvine's Pulse Ammo, or refining them into the forbidden magic called "Ultima". This magic can raise your stats to the fullest if you have 100 of them. Once you defeat Elnoyle, go to your right. When you leave that area, go back. The same freak should be there. You can repeat as many times as desired. For better results, if you have the Bahamut GF, junction the "Rare Item" party ability to get two or three Energy Crystals. Note: Do not Mug Elnoyle or you will not get the Energy Crystals.
Defeating Gerogero:Have Item ability for at least one character. After defeating the Fake President (preferably through Single or Double Thunders), he will fall to the floor. From him will emerge his possessor, Gerogero. Immediately use a Phoenix Down on Gerogero to kill him. Note: To achieve this effect with other enemies, first cast Zombie. Zombie makes the enemy "undead" and is thus vulnerable to healing items and magic. Phoenix Down on a character that is "Zombified" will kill it.
Defeating Molboro:Have your characters at least 150 strength (using G.F ability Strength +60, junction Ultima or Meteor), over 7000 HP(junction 100 Regen or Life 2), and a high hit rate (junction 100 Triple to the Hit Rate stat). Enter in a battle against Molboro. His breath causes all status ailments and he has the Bad Habit to do it at the start of the battle. When he uses it, wait for your party to wake up (each character will probably be in Sleepel status). The Death sentence will not begin until one of your character wakes up. When your party wakes up, simply attack. The Berserk status will make your time bar fill faster, and you will deal much more damage (about 9999 HP every hit). Blind status does not affect your character while Berserk cause of the high hit rate. The high HP should protect you enough to survive the battle. Because Molboro is slow, you should be able to finish him in about six turns. If the Death Sentence is dangerously near 0 you can always escape. Note: If you have Tonberry's Level Down you can always use it quickly before he does his Bad Breath, but you will gain less experience at the end of the battle. If you junction 100 Drain (get it by changing Vampire's Fang or draw by Dragon Izolde) to your weapon you will heal your character while attacking.
To avoid Molboro's most dangerous spell, Bad Breath, have at least one junction St-Def for each character and junction 100 Berserk magic. Have Siren's Chiryou command (removes all status ailments) equipped on one character. Enter the battle. The Molboro will do Bad Breath as his first attack. You should catch all the status ailments except Berserk. Heal the party with Chiryou as you can still control your characters and keep attacking. Repeat this each time he does his Bad Breath attack.
Before you face a Morbolo, junction Drain magic to your Status attack (100 recommended) and try to raise your strength as high as possible with Squall. As you enter battle, the Molboro will probably use his special attack Bad Breath immediately, causing almost every status to affect you. Wait until you are not confused and asleep. Every time Squall hits the Morbolo, it will regain some of your life. Soon, everyone but Squall will be dead until Squall gets frozen. However, sometimes immediately after you are frozen, the GF Phoenix will summon and do Rebirth Flame (even without a Phoenix Pinion) and revive your other two members not affected by Bad Breath. Then, use Soft/Remedy on Squall and use Limit Breaks to finish off Morbolo.
Defeating Ruby Dragon:Use the following trick to defeat the Ruby Dragons before Bahamut. Go the island in the lower left corner of the map. You will find a flashing object. Walk to it when it is not flashing or you will get into a fight (Anacondours, Blood Souls, Bombs, Buels). When you reach the object, press X. A voice will say "so you wish to challenge me?". You have only one option and will get into a fight with a Ruby Dragon. First, use Doomtrain to put it to sleep. Then use Diablos; he takes off 9999 HP each time. Use Leviathan also. It should take off 9999 HP or less, but only after Doomtrain. If the Ruby Dragon KOs a GF before you put him to sleep, have the person with the KOed GF use Demi. This will eventually defeat him. When you do, a voice will ask if you "wish for mercy". If you are nearly dead respond with "Yeah, there's nothing I can do." You will get away. If you are okay, respond with "Never." You will fight another Ruby Dragon, but this time you will be attacked from behind. Repeat the process to defeat it. When you win, you will be asked "Why do you wish to fight?" You will have three options: "For the sake of protecting something", "None of your business", and an invisible choice, which is "It's in our nature". The first two will bring out Ruby Dragons. The third will bring you inside the flashing object and to Bahamut. Be careful of the Ruby Dragons' Breath attack which will either kill you or nearly kill you. If you are lucky, Odin will appear during the battle.
Defeating T-Rexaur at Training Center:At this point, although Quistis may specifically mention Sleep as a useful Status spell, Blind works just as well and may sometimes be more effective. As T-Rexaur cannot cast magic, Blind renders him harmless.
Defeating Tri-Point:Junction 100x Thundaga to Elem Def-J to absorb Tri Point's Mega Spark. Auto-Protect for all is the best way to cushion the damage of Onrush, plus using Triple followed by Curaga if needed.
UFO:When battling, you may sometimes encounter no enemies. Wait for a few seconds, and eventually, a UFO will fly by, carrying something. On the beach, is an Easter Island head, and in the desert it is a pyramid. This happens very rarely, and you will not get any Experience, AB or Items.
Battles
No random battles:Use the following methods to never have any random battle outside of towns: rent a car for 3,500 gil, walk on train tracks, walk on paved roads, or get Diablos' No Encounter ability.
Easy battles:To defeat enemies easily, learn the ability Revive with Alexander and junction 100 Zombie to Status Atk on any player. During a battle, attack until the enemy has Zombie status, and then use Revive to automatically kill it.
Put Squall together with two characters that you do not prefer. Then, take all three to the Islands of Heaven or Hell and level them up to 100. Then, put Squall in a party with two low level people that you do prefer. From now on monsters should be at about half Squall's level and easy for him to kill with one or two hits.
Have some Auras, and use Quistis' Degenerator limit break. The monster will just get sucked in and die. To defeat bosses such as Bahamut or Omega Weapon, use Zell and keep doing the "Booya" or the other easy Limit Break. If you get 10 or 12 seconds and do this quick enough, you can take off 850,000 HP. Zell's Limit Breaks are actually stronger than the Lionheart if you are quick enough.
Note: this trick can only be done if you are fairly far in the game, have a good amount of money, and have patience. You must have your best character at 9999 HP and a good amount of attack and defense. You also must have almost all the abilities for Alexander, Cerberus, and Diablos learned. Have the ability of that character to "HP + 80%", "Auto- Haste", and one other of your choice. Set the in game attacks of your character "GF", "Revive", and "Draw" or "Item". Junction on that character in the Elemental Defense: Life, Protect, Shell, and Ultima. If you have enough of each, you should have a star next to each sign. That indicates that you gain life from magic. Put on Enuna and Silence that are at 100 and two others onto Status Defense. Put a 100 Drain onto Status Attack. This makes it so that whenever you have a regular attack with your character, you gain that much life. If done correctly, you should not have to worry about dying. The Auto-Haste makes you go twice as fast while you heal from the regular pumped up attacks on the enemy. If the enemy is undead and does not allow you to heal from the attacks or makes you get hurt by them, use Revive to instantly kill them. If your other members die, heal them entirely with Revive. If your other members get a status you do not like, kill them, then use Revive to get rid of it. Note: Your character's HP, Attack, and Defense must be high for this to work.
Have any of your party members get Elm-ATK-Zombie. Attack a monster that is not immune to Zombie. If it gets a Zombie status, cast GF Alexander's "Revive" on the monster.
To defeat a level 100 T-Rexar or other opponent on the Islands of Heaven or Hell or any other place, do the following. Equip the Death magic to ST-ATK. You must have at least 85+ but 100 Magics in stock. This causes instant death, as they disappear unlike Doom. This is not true all the time. Attack an enemy and if it does not disappear, attack it again until it is gone. Note: This does not work on Bosses.
Easy Boss battles:Besides the obvious increases in Str up to 255 and HP up to 9999, put Rinoa's Mag up to 255. Cast Aura on her, followed by Invincible Moon, then Angel Wing. Just wait until Rinoa casts Meteor, which will do up to 5000-7000 on each meteor, depending on experience.
Get Cerberus and at least 20 Auras. Cast Cerberus, then Triple Aura (one on each person). If Squall has Lion Hart, Renzekuken should kill almost any Boss.
Get Cactaur and learn its Kamikaze ability. Use that on a Boss or monster. It deals about 75,000 HP damage. Although your character automatically dies, it is be worth it when fighting Omega Weapon, Tonberries, or other strong opponents.
Defeating X-ATM092 (The Spider Bot):On Disc 1 during the Dollet mission, you will fight Wedge, Biggs, and an Elvoret. After these battles you will have thirty minutes to get to the beach to leave Dollet. Upon the withdrawal of the Communications Tower, an X-ATM092 will drop from above, starting a sudden battle. Using the GF Quezacotl with Boost should put it down for you to run. Run down the path to discover that it is still alive. Continue running away to the next screen then run to the left without the "Spider" jumping on you. On the next screen, notice that nothing is chasing you. Walk by pressing Triangle across the broken path until the next screen to avoid an encounter with the "Spider". Continue to run to the bridge. When on the bridge, let the "Spider" attack you. Using Thunder based attacks, make the "Spider" fall to its knees. Do not run, even though the "Spider" is down. Continue to attack it although it repairs itself. Repairing itself only enables it to attack, and not gain HP. After many falls you should notice that the "Spider" falls more easily. Eventually (with three to ten minutes remaining depending on strength), the "Spider" will explode, allowing you to run to the vessel only having Galbadian soldiers to worry about. Note: The "Spider" will give you a Power Wrist, 30 AP, and a higher SeeD ranking. However it gives no experience points.
Defeating Bahamut:Note: You must have Ragnarok for this. Fly to the bottom left corner. There will be a landing pad. Land on it. Walk in and you will fight Bahamut. Note: Use this on strongest person (usually Squall). Have fire attacks heal you. Have Drain as your Attack, and Blizzara as your Status Attack. Have your strongest characters with you.
Defeating Edea:Use the following trick to defeat Edea in Disc 2 with just one Limit Break. Equip Squall's Strength with 100 Thundaga. Have GF Ifrits Str+40% and Str Bonus equipped to his abilities. Get to about level 30. Then, cast Haste and Aura on Squall and let him use his Limit Break. It should do around 1,100 damage per hit, which is enough to kill Edea. Note: Also try to have Squall's Cutting Trigger.
Defeating Ultimecia and Griever:Collect about 50 Auras, Squall's Lion Heart gunblade, and Bahamut's card (obtained when Bahamut is defeated). Before the battle use the card mod ability on the Bahamut card to get 100 Mega Elixers. When enter into the first of the four battles, three characters are chosen at random -- your three main characters will not always start out. When you start the battle, if any of your three main characters are with you, just keep them alive and let the others die and be taken into time compression. You will eventually get all three of your main characters -- this is when the battle starts. Start the battle by having one character use Aura on Squall so he can get his Limit Break easily. Have the third character use a Mega Elixer every turn and have Squall use his Limit Break every turn. When Aura runs out, just cast it again. Have the character who has Aura also use Doomtrain to try to lower any of the Boss' defense. Keep this up and the four battles will be over before you know it.
Selphie's limit break The End will work on every boss except Final Altemisia. Put her in your party and have her limit break usable. Keep switching magic until you can use The End and it will work on all of them. Selphie must be at level 100.
Use Eden and Aura (all limit breaks are strong) for defeating Omega Weapon. Use Aura on Selphie and then a Holy War. Have her use her limit break and cast The End one or more times. Then once you get it, use it. It will automatically kill any one.
When you are facing Ultimicia's true form, she will eventually draw from her lower body. From then on, you may draw Apocalypse from that body yourself. Just cast it and chip away about 7000 HP damage to her.
Prepare for the battle with Ultimicia by using your GF abilities to your own advantage. Card mod Bahamut for 100 megalixers, which heal your party and restore everything,. Have a healthy supply of Aura and Meltdown. It helps to have many of revive items. This is the last battle, so you can un-junction GFs so only one person has it -- they are only useful in her first form. Whenever they even get hit about medium damage, 1000 to 4000 HP, use a Megalixer. It helps to have a few good Heros. If you do not, you still have a chance if you have a Gilgamesh card (refines to 10 Holy Wars which gives your entire party invincibility for a long time). You cannot lose unless something goes terribly wrong, such as if she casts Hell's Judgment followed by Great Attractor.
You need the Gilgamesh card. Card Mod it for 10 Holy Wars. Having Squall at level100, Zell at level 100, and Selphie at level 100 is recommended. Make sure each member has 100 Auras and 10 Triples, as well as all the limits and Ultimate Weapons. Fight her and use the basic strategy for her first form. For Griever and her other forms, use the following strategy. First, use Squall and cast Triple on Selphia. For the second step, with Selphia cast Aura on all your of characters. For the third step, with Zell use a Holy War. Do it in that order. Every time your Aura and Holy War end, repeat the second and third steps.
Since the party is selected by the C{U during the last battle against Ultimecia, it is necessary to divide the GF to every character to make sure they survive. Of course, they must have the best magic junctioned to keep their status high. Therefore 600 Ultimas and other best magic are to be drawn. There is no way to make sure all the character have all the status junctioned. Less Junctioning Ability Medicine is required if the GF are divided correctly. The following is such a recommendation.
Character 1. Diablos, Doomtrain, Cactuar
Character 2. Quezacolt, Eden, Cerberus
Character 3. Brothers, Siren
Character 4. Shiva, Pandemona, Tonberry
Character 5. Carbuncle, Alexander, Bahamut
Character 6. Ifrit, Leviathan
Using the above division, less medicine can be used to make sure every character has most of the junctioning abilities. Buy the "Scrolls" to make them learn the remaining abilities. "Spd-J Scroll" can be obtained from 2 Hundred Needles, each modified by 100 Cactus Thorn, then modify the 2 Hundred Needles to 2 Spd-Up. Then use the 2 Spd-Up to modify into a Spd-J Scroll.
When fighting Ultimecia make sure you get all of your abilities. Get limit breaks first. Have Selphie, Zell, and Squall in your party with their ultimate weapons and strength over 200. Have Zell and Squall attack first, then let Selphie heal with Full-Cure. Note: You have to be close to level 100.
To kill Ultimecia's fourth form instantly, make sure that Rinoa knows Angelo Cannon. Use Squall's Lion Heart after using Irvine's Armor Shot, then use Rinoa's Angelo Cannon. When it is Rinoa's turn again, use Angel Wing and Ultimecia will die instantly. Note: This only works on the fourth form.
Use the following trick to win the final battle with no Heroes or Holy War. Make sure that you have already modified the Bahamat card for 100 Megaelixers. Make good use of the GFs; assign them evenly throughout your players. Make sure every one of them has both Elem-Atk/Def and ST-Atk/Def. You also must make sure that you junction very good magic to all the players. Keep in mind that Ultemecia chooses who should go first, and it would be bad if she picked all your weak characters. Junction 100 Meltdown to Vit, 100 Meteor or Ultima to Str, and the rest is up to you. Just make sure they are at the highest that they can be. If you are lucky enough that she selects Qusitis, Zell and Irvine, follow this technique. The first Ultimecia's form is very fast, but does not really do much of damaging attacks. Cast Aura on Quistis, and then cast her Blue Magic Mighty Guard. Then, continue to cast Aura on all the other characters. If your Vitality was really high, her damaging attacks will practically be harmless, especially if you junctioned good magic to Elm and St-Def, like Holy and Esuna. When all your characters are at their Limit, keep casting Duel from Zell, Gaulting Gun from Quistis, and some Fast Ammo from Irvine. Also, keep your ammo at 100, just in case. She and Griever will be easy. Continue what you did on her, then do it on him. When they fuse together, they have bad attacks. Use Mega Elixir on all your characters. Keep casting Aura, with your Limits. Do not use Fast Ammo with Irvine. Use Demolition Ammo, as it does 9,999 damage with every hit. It is very slow, but if you are fast enough, you can fit in eight shots for 80,000 damage. Two Limits from Irvine and they are dead. Ultimecia will now pull her true form on you. She has a great attack that drops you to 1 HP. Use some Mega Elixir and keep shooting at her with Demolition ammo. She will be defeated in no time.
Defeating: Mobile Type 8:When fighting Mobile Type 8 in Lunatic Pandora, use GF Diablos to get a 9999 HP hit on the machine's body.
You need Squall, Zell, and one other person in your party. Cast Aura on Zell or wait until Zell is in critical condition. Then use Zell's Meteor Strike limit break on Mobile Type 8. It will do 9,999 damage the first time. The second and third time Zell does this, it will not do as much damage, but it will still do about 4,000 to 5,000. Keep repeating this and the battle should be easy. Also, if Zell dies during the battle, cast Life on him. This way, Zell will still be in critical condition and you can continue using Meteor Strike.
Defeating Red Giant in Ultimecia's castle:Gain Diablos and increase his level to at least 49.While in battle, summon Diablos. It will deliver 9,999 points of damage and he will say "Diablos! Defeat is imminent!". Summoning Diablos three or four times should end the battle.
Defeating Sphinxaur/Sphinxara:This is the easiest of Ultimecia's servants, and should be your first target. You can see Sphinxaur from just inside the front door. It resides at the top of the stairs in the Front Foyer. Ascend the stairs and approach Sphinxaur to enter combat. At this point you should only be able to use the attack command. This boss has low HP, is slow, and has attacks that are weaker then you might expect. It can summon creatures to assist it, but they are typically weak, such as Jelleyes. Additionally, this Boss likes to use Ice magic, so you may want to junction Blizzaga to each party member's Elem-Def.
Defeating Scorpion at first Mako reactor:To defeat this scorpion-like Boss, have Cloud use nothing but Ice magic and his Braver limit break. Have Barret use his normal attack until he gets his Big Shot limit break. Note: If Cloud dies during this fight, you will most likely lose.
Defeating Adel:You only need the GF Cactuar and his Kamikaze ability. Note: Do the same thing to the sorceresses.
When battling Adel, do not use any offensive GFs because they will harm Rinoa. The game will end if you kill her. Whenever Adel drains Rinoa's HP, feed Rinoa some kind of healing spell (Cure, Curaga, etc.). At the start of the fight, cast Regen on Rinoa, then cast Protect and summon Cerbus on the entire party. However, do not cast Shell on Rinoa, since it will make the Cure spells less effective. Adel has an attack called Energy Bomber that zeros in on a single party member. Be ready to heal the person that was hit with a Curaga or Full-Life if killed. Hit Adel with Flare in triple and it will do massive damage. Also be ready to heal your party after Adel casts Ultima and Meteor. Keep up the heat and you should win. Be sure to use GFs that know Boost.
Have Zell, Squall, and one other member in your group. Have Zell use magic, squall fight, and the other person Draw spells. Start by casting Regen on Rinoa, followed by a Meltdown aimed at Adel. If you have Auto-Haste, junction it to Zell. After meltdown, have Zell cast Aura on Squall to enable him to use his limit break. if you have the Lion Heart, keep using it until you get Blasting Zone and Lion Heart. Make sure that you always target Adel. Also make sure everyone has their best weapons. Have the third person in your group Draw as many spells from Adel as you can hold or until you kill her. Adel takes Rinoa's HP, so give her a Curaga, but do not cast Shell on her. Squall and Zell should be at or close to level 100, and Rinoa should be at level 70 or higher. For the character using Draw, junction Auto-Potion to them and it will not matter what level they are at (Quistis and her Save The Queen weapon is recommended).
At the beginning of the battle she will cast Meteor and do massive damage to your entire party. Have someone summon Cerberus to cast Double and Triple on your party. Have your weakest character heal, while the other two attack or cast Triple Meltdown on Adel. After healing your party, cast Shell on Riona. When Adel sucks energy from Riona it will not be a threat. Do not cast spells such as Meteor or Ultima because they will also hit Riona. Also, dnot cast Holy on her as it will heal Adel. Summoning in this battle will not help because the risk of also hitting Riona. Instead, use physical attacks. When Squall gets his Limit, use it. It does massive damage (hope for Blasting Zone). Although it will do 9999 damage on both Adel and Riona, the game only cares that you killed Adel
Note: A party consisting of Irvine, Zell, and Squall is preferred. Have at least 40 AP ammo for Irvine (at level 65) and someone with at least 20 Auras and 10 Regen. Cast Aura on Irvine. You have an automatic aiming ability with him. Choose Adel under the attack menu and use the AP ammunition. If you do not any, then choose the Pulse ammunition. Then, cast Regen on everybody (including Rinoa) . Repeat this pattern until she has been defeated.
The following items are requires for this trick: at least 15 Auras, Cerberus, 50 Curagas, 10 Meltdowns, and 1 Holy War. Make sure you have all of your magic junctioned to defenee, and one person with Item Junction. When you first start the battle, have someone with the Draw command draw from Rinoa. Cast Regen on her and use Holy War. Then, have whoever has Cerberus summon him and whoever has Meltdown cast it on Adel. Next, have the person with the Auras cast it on the two people that do not have the Curagas. Keep repeating the following: Special with the two people with Aura on them and the person with the Curagas should have Triple on them; and keep casting Curaga on your party.
Have Squall, Irvine, and someone who knows Recover. Try to have your characters at full strength and maximum HP. Have Squall cast Aura on Irvine. Then, attack her a few times with Squall. When Irvine can use his Limit Break, use the Fire Shot. Then, heal Rinoa's health. Keep doing this until she has been defeated.
When you have to save Rinoa on Disc 4 when she is auctioned by Adel, use a Meltdown on Adel to reduce her physical defense to zero. Then, use Irvine's Limit Break with at least four Pulse Shots for five Hyper Shots. Adel should then go down easy.
Defeating Omega Weapon:Have Irvine, Squall, and either Rinoa or Zell in your party. Before battle, card mod the Gilgamesh card and get Holy Wars. Have Death junctioned to everyone's Status Defense and make sure they have at 9999 HP. Junction the Auto-haste ability to someone. First, have Zell/Rinoa cast Triple on Irvine. Wait until Omega does his Meteor spell, then quickly do a Triple Curaga for everyone. Soon afterwards, Omega Weapon will use a special attack that does 9998 damage to everyone, which will put everyone in your party at 1 HP. Use the Holy War. Use limit breaks with each person except for Rinoa. Rinoa should summon Eden repeatedly, unless she has only the Wishing Star limit break. Watch the person with Auto-haste very carefully. He will be the first person who comes out of Holy War, and serves as an early warning. Use another Holy War when one wears out.
Use Tifa's The End. If you hit the slots just right, it will show Omega Weapon sitting in a field of pretty flowers. He does not look like a threat anymore.
Defeating Ultima Weapon:Remember to draw 100 Ultima from Ultima Weapon when fighting him. Also, Mug him to get the Three Stars.
Get Squall's strength to be 255 (junction 100 Ultima magic), speed above 100 (junction 100 Triple magic), and he must have the Lionheart. The HP of your party should be 9999. Have Alexander's Revive (optional) and Leviathan's Recovery equipped. At the start of the battle, have Quistis cast Meltdown on Ultima Weapon. Have the other character cast Aura on Squall. Use Squall's Renzokuken and if you trigger exactly (press R1 immediately as you see Trigger) doing his Lion Heart, you will finish the battle in three turns.
Junction 100 Meteor to your Mag, 100 Meltdown to your Vit, 100 Triple to your Str. Junction Str+60%, Mag+60% and Vit+60% ability. Junction 100 Pain to Squall's Luck. This should make the Str of each character to rise above 230. Have Squall's weapon modified to Lionheart. You should have no problem fighting Ultima Weapon if If your level is low. Cast Doomtrain and use Aura for each character at the at the beginning of the battle. Use your Limit Breaks as soon as possible. If Squall's Lionheart is activated, one time is enough to kill him.
Get Squall's final weapon, Lion Heart. Place all your strongest members in your party. For example, Squall, Selphie and Zell. On Selphie's battle abilities, have Attack, Draw, G.F., and Item. On Zell, have Attack, Magic, G.F., and Item. On Squall, have Mug, G.F., Magic, and Draw. In your item inventory, have Mega Phoenix, Hero, and Aura Stone. In your magic inventory have Auras. Junction 100 Ultima magic to your attack. At the start of the battle have Squall steal three Stars. Then, have Selphie draw Eden, the best G.F. Have Zell put Hero on Squall to make him invincible. Hold Squal'ls attack by press Circle. Then, have Selphie put Aura or Aura Stone on Squall. Cast Melt Down on Ultimate Weapon so it does not have any vitality. Keep on doing Renzokuken on Ultimate Weapon and it will hit about 8000 or 9000 each time if done correctly. If you do Lion Heart twice on it, it will be defeated. Do not bother reviving Zell or Selphie if they die in the process, because you will still get any experience and your G.F.s still get AP. After the battle you have the strongest G.F. in the game, and 100 Ultima Stones.
Have Squall, Quistis, and Zell at level 35 or more and 9999 HP. Give Zell the Revive ability and make sure he has Initiative junctioned to his ability and at least 1 Meltdown. Give Quistis the Kamikaze and Item abilty. Draw Eden before doing anything else. Make sure Squall has the Auto-Haste ability junctioned. When the battle begins Zell, will have his turn first. Cast Meltdown on Ultima Weapon. Next, let Ultima Weapon knock Squall's HP low enough to trigger his Limit Break. As soon as you are able to, let Squall use his Limit Break. This will give you time for Quistis to use a Hero on Squall. Then, cast Bahamut on Ultima Weapon. This should given enough time for Zell and Quistis to recharge. Switch characters until you get to Quistis and use the Kamikaze ability. Finally, hit Ultima Weapon with Squall's Limit Break one more time and the battle will be over.
Remember to use the Move/Find ability to find the final save point beside Ultima weapon. Have Selphie in your party and at least one Hero. When Selphie is ready to use her Limit Break, use a Hero on her to make her invincible. Keep looking through her list of Limit Breaks until you find a spell called "The End". Cast this to defeat Ultima weapon. Do not forget to draw Eden from it first.
Use Squall, Zell, and Rinoa. Have Squall at least at level 61, Zell at least level 55, and Rinoa at least level 45. Have Squall equipped with Draw, Item, Revive, Str+40 and 60 (which brings his strength to a total of 255), Spd+40, and Initiative. Make sure his Str is 255 (Triple x100), and his Spd is 100+ (Haste x100). Also have his elemental defense absorbing by 50%. To do this, make sure you have 60+ Ultimas, 100 Full-Lifes, 100 Shells, and 100 Lifes. Have Zell equipped with Draw, Item, Recover, Vit+40, Spd+20, and Alert (optional). Make sure his HP is over 6,000 and Vit over 100. Have Rinoa equipped with Item, Draw, Darkside, HP+ 80, Counter, and Vit +40. Make sure her HP is over 6,000 (with HP+80, it should bump it up to 9,999), and Vit is 100+. Have Squall's Flame Saber. The Lionheart is not required. Before the fight, make sure that Squall is in the yellow. When the battle starts, have Squall do Renzozuken immediately. If Ultima Weapon kills Squall, have Rinoa use a Phoenix Down on him. Then, have Zell draw Eden. Have Squall do another Renzozuken, followed by Rinoa skipping her turn, and Zell using Restore on himself if needed. If Ultima Weapon uses Quake, Squall will be healed over 1,000 HP. On Squall's turn, use the Renzozuken again and Ultima Weapon should be defeated.
Reach Ultima Weapon without any encounters:After defeating Bahamut and talking to everyone in the Ragnarok, go back in and go down the vine. Make sure to have Enc None equipped. Use 4 units to go down to the next level. Examine the computer on the next floor, and use 2 units of power to open the hatch. Proceed down. The next screen will have two doors, controlled by two computers. Examine the computer on the left (just under the stairs) to use 4 units to enter the steam room to the left. Check the machinery in the steam room to replenish your supply by 7 (do not miss the Esuna DP located here). Go back out and use 1 unit on each of the next three levels, and 4 units to open the door to the Deep Sea Deposit (do not let Zell try to fix it). Follow the path all the way to the bottom, use Siren's Move-Find to see the Triple and Ultima draw points on the way down, as well as the Save point at the very bottom just before the fight. Use the remaining 10 units to resume the excavation and initiate the battle with Ultima Weapon.
Defeating Blue Dragons:Go to the Islands Closest To Hell (north of Dollet) and find a Blue Dragon. Draw Death from the Dragon and keep casting it on the Dragon until it is defeated. Alternately, use Stop magic on it and draw 100 Deaths. Then, put it on everyone's Status Attack to kill the Dragon quicker. This will result in a lot of experience, Dragon Fangs, and Fury Fragments.
Defeating the Ruby Dragon:First, use Cerebrus then draw some Meteors from him with someone who has got magic (Rinoa or Selphie suggested). Then, cast it with your own magic (which will do more damage). Then, use Diablos or Demi which will do 9999 damage. Repeat this until it is defeated. To defeat Ruby Dragon when you are Laguna, cast Cerburus and draw a few Firas to stock up. Use Diablos and Shiva and repeat.
When fighting the Ruby Dragon, Demi is very good at first. It does 9999 damage, then goes down slowly.
Defeating Tonberrys:Use Diablos to do 9999 HP damage on Tonberrys. Use Dark Messenger three times.
Defeating T-Rexaur:Use Blind or Junction 100 Blind to Status Attack, Zombie or 100 Zombie to Status Attack, and Life. This combo is very effective.
Defeating the fake President:When you are about to fight the fake President on the train, after a few shots it will seem like he is dying. Beams will shoot up from the ground, and a big zombie will appear. Instead of fighting it, use a Phoenix Down on it. Not fighting the impostor and using the Phoenix Down will result in you getting no experience, gil, or AP. The only thing that you will get is something called Zombie Powder.
Easy Angelo abilities:To raise Angelo's abilities, which are learned by the amount you have walked, go to Esthar, land the Ragnarok at the Airstation and run past the first screen. Turn left, and proceed to the Esthar Presidential Palace. When you get there, make your way back to the Airstation. That should be enough walking to trigger an ability.
Riona's Invincible Moon limit break:Find he Pet Pals magazine with the Invincible Moon on it. Then click on it at Riona's status screen. Leave it there and do not learn any more tricks. If you did not learn any tricks before that, every time you use Riona's Limit Break it will be Invincible Moon instead of something less useful such as Angelo Cannon.
Zell's Burning Rave limit break:Use the following order to get the Burning Rave: Punch Rush Mach Kick Punch Rush Burning Rave.
More damage with characters:When you are in a battle as Squall quickly press R1 when he is a second away from hitting the enemy to more damage than a regular attack.
Note: This can also be done with Rinoa, Ward, Kiros, Zell, Laguna, Irvine, Quistis, and Selphie.
Remodeling weapons:Squall's weapon can be remodeled easily while keeping his level low. Adamantine can be stolen from BGH251F2 in FH. Dragon Fang can be gotten from a level 1 Blue Dragon in the Trabia snow forests. Pulse Ammos can be taken from Energy Crystal 1 to 10. However, this is tricky because there are no low level monsters with this item. Even Elnoyle in Esthar must be at least level 40 to have them (and he cannot be leveled up) Therefore, in order to get the Energy Crystal, get the Elnoyle's card, which can be refined into an Energy Crystal for 10 to 1. Use the following trick to get 20 Elnoyle's cards. The hotel keeper in front of the Balamb hotel always uses the card for no reason. Just get the card from him. Meanwhile, collect the Iron Giant's card which can be refined into Star Fragments for 3 to 1. Zell's weapon needs Dragon's Skin which can be obtained from Anacondaur with level 30 or above and can be found in the forest near Timber. They usually appear in pairs and do not waste any of them. For Fury Fragment, try the cards again. Adamantine can be obtained from Adamantoise or from Scared's card. Adamantoise must be at least level 30. Have 'Meltdown' magic drawn before fighting it because it has a very high Vit. Do not let allow of the two be wasted because Selphine also needs it. For Irvine, Dino Bone, Star Fragment, and Screw can be refined from cards. Moon Stone can be stolen from Elnoyle. Your party will definitely have one level up if you fight him. Quistist's weapon items can all be obtained from cards, and so can Selphine's, except for Adamantine. Regen Ring can be stolen from Torama. Force Armlet should be obtained from Edea at Galbadia Garden. With all of the above, Squall should be able to have his Str above 230 junctioned Str with 100 Ultima, and a Str +60% ability and level at 24.
Easy AP and Exp points:Go to Cactaur Island earn 20 AP for each Cactaur that is defeated in battle. Cactaur Island is the small island covered by a desert.
Get the Tonberry GF and equip the Lv Up ability. Get Diablos and equip the Mug function. Use the Ragnarok to go to the top of the Vienne Mountains and fight the blue dragons. Use Lv Up, then Mug and he will automatically die. If he does not, repeat Lv Up and Mug. The experience from a maximum level Blue Dragon exceeds 1000 points. Note: Do not try this with anything else, as it may create a dangerous monster.
Display the world map and travel to the left-most island. It contains powerful monsters that can easily level up your characters after battles.
Once the Ragnarok is obtained, fly to the island closest to the east or west of the world map. The name of the islands should be Island Closest to Heaven or Island Closest to Hell. Defeat the difficult opponents here to accumulate AP and experience.
Easy Fujin and Raijin battle:Have Rinoa, Squall and Zell in your party. When Squall and Zell faint, select Rinoa use Reflect on her. Fujin will use magic, so it reflects on Fujin or Rajin, but Rajin will say "I don't hit girls" and Rinoa will not get hit at all. The battle is also easier if Carbuncle knows Counter Attack.
Before you get into any fight, save in Zell's room, in case you die. Junction at least two of your characters with magic with one with Item. This way, you can use magic and the other person can use the potions. Make sure you have Blind stocked. When you get into battle with Rajin, the very first thing you should do is to cast Blind on him to reduce his physical attack. The Galbadian soldiers will be knocked out within seconds. Never use a Thunder type GF on Rajin. He gains HP from the Thunder attacks. He will be knocked out with about five shots of Shiva at level 24. When you get into the duo battle, cast Blind on Rajin again. Have Selphie in the group, because of her Limit Break that cures everyone in the party. Do not use Carbuncle because it will not block Fujin's most powerful attack, Zan. Never use a Wind type of attack on Fujin. Try to knock Rajin out first because he is more dangerous than Fujin. Do not forget to draw the GF out of Fujin.
When on Disc 2 in Balamb facing Fujjin and Rajjin, Rajjin will not attack the females in your party. Instead, he will attack the males. Get either Riona, Quistis, or Selphie in your party with Squall. Keep attacking Fujjin until she gives up. Then, attack Rajjin. If Squall dies, then Rajjin will not attack but pass his turn. He will say, " I can't hit girls, man."
Easy Fujin and Raijin fight in the Lunatic Pandora (PlayStation version):Cast Protect and Shell. Then, cast Reflect on Raijin and keep hitting him with Bahamut, etc. Avoid wind and electricity attacks as well as limit breaks. When he says "Time to get serious ya know", he will cast Aura and it will reflect on your party. Keep pressing Circle until the arrow appears, then use Rough Divide, Fated Circle, Lionheart, etc. Fujin will say "Callous" and drop down when he has been defeated.
Get limit breaks on every hit (PlayStation version):When the health of all your characters in the party is low enough to trigger limit breaks, instead of using normal attacks while waiting for the limit break option to appear, keep hitting Circle to skip them until that option appears. Remember that if you cure any of the team, they will not get limit break options. However you will run the risk of having the entire party getting wiped out with a single magical attack; it may be best to keep one member at full health so he or she can revive the others if needed. This also works when you cast an "Aura", or if they are under poison, silence status. Note: Press Square in the import version of the game.
Wait until your HP is yellow but you cannot use your limit break during a battle. Repeatedly press Circle until the right arrow appears. Repeat it on the next turn to do it again (if the HP is still yellow). Now you can use your special move(s) as many times as you want, as long as your HP stays yellow.
When the health of a character is low enough to have a limit break and the small arrow does not appear, allow everyone else to attack. After their attack, press Triangle repeatedly until the arrow appears.
To do a limit break on your turn, either be low on energy, or be on Aura. If it does not immediately appear, press Circle to change to other characters until it lands the desired person. If it still does not appear, repeat until it does. This is easier if the other character(s) already have had an action during the turn.
Zell's Limit Breaks (PlayStation version):Once you have obtained Combat King 005, Zell can learn all his Limit Break attacks.
Punch Rash: Press Circle, X.
Booya: Press Right, Left.
Heel Drop: Press Up, Down.
Mach Kick: Press Left, Left, Circle.
Dolphin Blow: Press L1, R1, L1, R1.
Meteor Strike: Press Down, Circle, Up, Circle.
Burning Rave: Press Down, Down, Down, Down, Circle.
Meteor Barret: Press Up, X, Down, Triangle, Circle.
Different Beat: Press Triangle, Square, X, Circle, Up.
My Final Heaven: Press Up, Right, Down, Left, Triangle.
Best limit break:Many people think that Squall's limit Break "Lion Heart" is the best. It is, but it may be not the best limit break to depend on. The chance for using it is so low that it is hard to use more that once during a battle, especially when fighting Omega. The most dependable limit break is Zell's limit break, but is restricted by time. His "Booya", "Heel Drop" and "Punch Rush" are best used during the battle because they are the easiest to do. They have a sequence, which is "Booya", followed by "Heel Drop" or "Punch Rush", then return back to "Booya" again. It is useless to look at the list because they will always be there. If the sequence "Booya", "Punch Rush", "Booya" is followed, it will produce the best result. Since each attack cause about 4000 damages when the Zell's Str is 230, 8+ sec can takes 44 times damage. The total added damage will be 44 times 4000 (176,000). It is more than the damage of "Lion Heart", which is 9999 times 17 (169,983), not counting the few slashes made before "Lion Heart". Zell's limit is guaranteed as long as you are fast enough.
Always get "The End" Limit for Selphie:This trick can be used for an automatic kill for any enemy or Boss except for the undead. Whenever you get Selphie's limit break in battle, open the PlayStation lid. The screen will glitch, but the area where you select Selphie's limit will be intact. During this time the enemy will not attack. Take your time and scroll through the limits by pressing the Squarerepeatedly until you get her "The End" limit.
More frequent Odin appearances:If you want to have Odin to appear more often, get one or more Luck-J Scroll and Junction Magic with the full 100 stock.
One hit kills:This can be done with every monster that can be hit with Death magic (for example all the monsters in the Island Closest To Heaven and Hell, the Warship Island, in Esthar area). Death normally does not work very well as it has a low hit rate. To avoid this problem, do the following. Have Quistis in your party with her Special Disintegration (obtained by using the Black Hole item on her. You can get it by changing the Gesper Card or by stealing it in Laguna's last scenario by Gesper. You cannot fail because he is the only monster you fight in that scenario except for Esthar soldiers. Then, enter in a battle and keep her HP low. Switch turns until you can use Disintegration on the enemy. It is an instant death hit. This does not work against Bosses and the two Weapons.
More than 9999 damage in one hit:There are four attacks that deal more than 9999 damage in one hit.
GF Eden: Draw from Ultima Weapon at Deep Sea Research Center.
GF Cactuar: Defeat Giant Cactuar at Cactuar Island near Kashkabald Desert. Have GF Cactuar reach level 100 and he can deal 10,000 damage.
Kamikaze Command: Deals about 50,000 damage, but character is KO'd and cannot be revived until end of battle.
Quistis' Shockwave Pulsar: Learn from one Dark Matter. Casts Meltdown at the enemy that deals about 11,000 damage..
More damage:Press L1 in the PlayStation version immediately before Squall swings his blade in combat for more damage.
Escaping battle:Press L1 + R1 in the PlayStation version to escape from battles. Note: This is not effective when fighting Bosses.
Escaping from battle is the most effective way to keep low levels. However, during the process of escaping, the party tends to be attacked by the enemy. There is one way to prevent this. First, make sure the ATB is in "Wait" status ( this can be configured). During the battle, when you want to escape, open either the "Magic" or "Item" menu, but do not select any of them. Then, hold onto the escape combo. The enemies will not move until your party escapes.
Junction warning:When you Junction Auto Reflect, you will no longer you be able to cast Full Life effectively.
Level gaining without Squall:The difficulty of your enemies depends on the character with the highest level. That is usually Squall, since he is always in the party. If Squall ever gets too far ahead of the other party in levels, simply knock him out and level up the other characters.
Finding the Captain (Rajin):When Bamalab is under attack from Rajin and Fajin, you have to look for the captain (Rajin). Look around, return, and talk to them. They will say that the commander is angry, and to find him fast. Instead of looking around, just go behind the hotel. Keep going to the back and front until they are sitting down. Then, save the game in Zell's room. Go to those soldiers and the battle will start. Note: Do not to pay the man hiding in the truck behind the hotel.

When playing him, only use level 5 cards or lower and a maximum of two level 6 to 10 cards or all level 5 cards to get a better prize. Using lower level cards will give you better prizes. The best prize are Rosetta Stones. This item helps your GF learn Abilityx4. You can also get some rare magic stones like Holy and Flare. If you are patient enough you can receive these items. Once he starts giving out prizes such as Potions or Eye Drops, quit.
Adamantine:Find Adamantoise on the beach west of Dollet.
Battle Meter:Talk to Cid as soon as you get your rank reports from you SeeD field test to get the Battle Meter.

Heroes:Card Mod a Laguna Card to get 100 Heroes. These are especially helpful against Omega Weapon and Ultimecia.
Mega Phoenix:To get a Mega Phoenix, you must have GF Alexander and the ability Level Medicine-RF. Refine 50 Phoenix into one Mega Phoenix.
Moon Stone:To get Irvine's best weapon, go to Esther. If you already have the Raganork, land on the tall building that says "Airstation". Then, take a right. Go to where you find the first seat thing. Go down that little walkway behind the seat thing that is messed up. Once you have gone down that walkway (not all the way; just until you see a stairway on your right), go down what stairs there and talk to the person. If you are in the correct place, when you talk to him, he should laugh. You will enter a fight with Enoyle. If you want two or three Moon Stones, Mug him. To get two to four Energy Crystals, wait until the fight is over and do not Mug him.
Old Key:After getting and dropping the key for the first time, continue going to the left. There will three hatches in the ground. Go to the top (bottom) of the left hatch and press Action. You will receive the Old Key but Laguna will lose it again. It can be found at least one more time.
Pulse Ammo:To get Pulse Ammo for Squall's best weapon, The Lionheart, and Irvine's best Limit Break bullets, go to the forest outside of Edea's orphanage and battle a Blitz. Mug him and you will receive a Power Generator. Use Ifrit's Ammo RF and change the Power Generator into 20 Pulse Ammo.
Quakes:Once you pass Timber and are in the next city, you will need to go to the Tomb Of The Unknown King. Once there, you will get the Brothers GF and their cards. Turn one into 100 Dino Bones. Use Diablos' Time Magic refine to transform them each into 10 Quakes. Give the people in your party the Quakes and junction the magic to their HP. This should greatly improve your HP. This trick results in more HP than Curaga (which junctions better to VIT). You can now save the Curagas for healing your party.
Rosetta Stones:To get 100 Rosetta Stones, collect 100 Curse Spikes and refine them into 100 Dark Matter. Then refine 100 Dark Matter into 100 Shaman Stones. Finally, refine the 100 Shaman Stones into 100 Rosetta Stones.
Star Fragment:Battle T-Rexaur and after awhile you should obtain enough Star Fragments to remodel all the weapons that require it.
Phoenix Pinion:Go to the Shumi Village on the northern island and talk to the elder. He wants to give you a gift, but since they all work for what they get, he sends you away to help the sculptor. The sculptor then sends you to find five various stones: the blue stone, wind stone, life stone, shadow stone, and water stone. The blue stone in the sculptor's room underneath the window, the wind stone is next to the locked house in the big pile of rocks, the life stone is under a tree to the right of the elder's house, the shadow stone is on the first level where the shadows intersect to the right of the elevator, and the water stone is next to the sink in artisan's house. After collecting all of these, you are sent to see the elder. He lets you look at his hand, and you go to leave feeling shamed. The assistant will call you back in and gives you the Phoenix Pinion and explains the entire ordeal.
To catch a Phoenix Pinion (not the Phoenix Pinion from the Shumi Village ) you need have the GF Siren and the ability Tool-RF. Refine three Mega Phoenix into one Phoenix Pinion.
Old key:When controlling Laguna in Esthar and he gets the wrong map, go over to the big items. After Laguna's legs cramps, go straight and take a left. Go over to the items and press X to get the old key.
Easy Vit-Up:Defeat Sacred and Minotaur to get their card. They can be found at the Tomb of the Unknown King. Defeat all the Card Club members (Jack, Joker, Club, Diamond, Spade, Heart and King) before the end of Disc 3 so that they will accompany Squall when he returns to the Ragnarok after Time Compression has begun. Using Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, refine 10 Adamantines from Minotaur's card. Five Adamantines can be refined into one Vit-Up. Challenge Xu to a card game, and win from her the Minotaur card, repeat as desired. You can also refine other kinds to rare items, then win the card back from Xu.
Energy crystals:Once obtaining the Ragnarok, fly to Esthar Air Station. Go out to the main road, where the guard is sitting down. Run up, then once the scene changes, run up again to change the scene again. Run down and once the scene changes, come down and follow the road to the right. There should be a small black man at that location. Talk to fight an Elnoyle, which will result in two Energy Crystals. This may be repeated as many times as needed as long as you run off the screen and return.
Energy crystals can be obtained by going to the woods located by Edea's house. Find Ruby Dragon and mug him to obtain four Energy Crystals. You can use these to get Pulse Ammo to update Squall's weapon.
Save fuel:If you are low on fuel for a vehicle, drive it backwards. It will still move at regular speed with or without fuel.
Free Potions:You can get free Potions in Timber Town in Disc 2. Get Rinoa in the party, then go to the bridge (over the railroad tracks) where you saw the guards. Keep returning until a man appears. Talk to him, then talk to him a second time to receive a Potion. Leave the screen and return until he appears again and repeat.
Stock up on items:Spend as little Gil as possible up to Disc 2 (preferably until Fisherman's Horizon). Make your characters battle as much as possible to reach levels 30-40. You should have now enough Gil to stock 100 of all items.
Dark Matter:Collect 100 Curse Spikes and use Siren's Tool-RF Ability to refine all 100 into a Dark Matter. Dark Matter can be used in one of two ways: You can use Bahamut's Forbid Mag-RF Ability (not Forbid Med-RF) to refine 1 Dark Matter into 100 Ultimas. Dark Matter can also be used to teach Griever's Limit Break, Shockwave Pulsar, to Quistis.
Holy Wars:A Holy War is an item that will temporarily make your entire party invincible, and makes it much easier to defeat Ultimecia. You must defeat the entire CC group in Disc 3 in Balamb Garden to be able to do the following trick. In Disc 4, when you get the Ragnarok back, Xu will be there, along will all the other CC group members. Make sure that you have already turned the Gilgamesh Card you got from Quistis in Disc 3 into 10 Holy Wars. Xu will have multiple copies of this card, which you can turn into Holy Wars. Each time you get the Gilgamesh Card from Xu, turn it into 10 Holy Wars before challenging her again. Repeat this eight more times and you will have 100 Holy Wars.
Friendship item and Mog Amulet:The Friendship item and the Mog Amulet for summoning Moomba and Moogle cannot be found unless you have a PocketStation (PlayStation version). You can find the items there on your Chocobo Quest.
Unlimited items:Note: This trick requires a PocketStation, the North American version of the game, and a memory card. Download the Chocobo World game from Final Fantasy 8 onto your Pocketstation. This can be done after you have caught a Chocobo. Start playing through Chocobo World on the PocketStation, and collect as many items as possible. After obtaining the desired items, plug the Pocketstation and the memory card into the PlayStation. Enter the memory card manager and save Chocobo World to the memory card, which will occupy 7 blocks. Start playing your Final Fantasy 8 game with the file that you have caught a Chocobo with. Choose the option to take Boco (the character you play Chocobo World with) home. This also lets you transfer all the items you have collected in the Pocketstation game into the Final Fantasy 8 game. Then choose the option to send Boco into the Pocketstation game again. Go to the option on the Final Fantasy 8 game to see all the items that were transferred from the Pocketstation. Go to the memory card manager, and copy the Chocobo World files from the memory card back to into the Pocketstation. Repeat the steps that transfer the items to Final Fantasy 8. Note: You can do this to get 16 or more MiniMog abilities for all your G.F.s to use. Just find MiniMog inside the Pocketstation game and then just repeat the transferring cheat.
Go to the Card Master's room in Dollet. Check the stacks of magazines for information and items. Once you have got the items (there are about four per stack) exit the room and go back in. There will be more items back in the stacks.
Upgrading weapons:You do not need to have read the "Weapon Monthly" magazines in order to upgrade weapons. You only need to have the correct items in your inventory. For example, if you are on Disc 1 and have 12 Pulse Ammo items, 1 Dragon Fang item, and 1 Adamantine piece, you can go to a Junk Shop and get the Lionheart blade.
Easy Adamanite for remodeling all the best weapons:Simply have the Card-Item ability and change one of the Brothers into 10 Adamanite.
Win one from a Atomstise.
Megalixers:When fighting Sorceress Adel in Disc 4, cast Protect on Rinoa, then Mug her. There is a good chance you will get 8 Megalixers.
Get the Lionheart in Disc 1:The items needed for the Lion Heart (Squalls best weapon) are 1 Adamantine, 4 Dragon Fangs, and 12 Pulse Ammo.. Get Quezecoatl's card mod and Ammo refine from Ifrit. Since most of the items you need to be powerful is in the cards, it is recommended that you keep playing it in Balamb. You need 20 Elnoyle cards for the 2 Energy Crystals (converted with Card mod). Then Ammo refine them to Pulse ammo. The Minotaur card for the Adamantine, and since you cannot get Dragon Fangs from cards, fight a T-Rexaur until you get at least four of them. Go to the nearest junkshop and you will be able to get the Lionheart in Disc 1.
Before the Dollet field exam, level up your party to be between 20 and 30. When returning to Garden, keep fighting T-Rex until you get the 4 Dragon Fangs. The T-Rexes must be in level 30 (with Fira and Thundara). After leaving Timber, follow the railroad to get to Dollet. Go onto the beach and defeat some Adamantoises to get the Adamantine. Next, enter the forest and go into the "dream world". If your team is at level 30, you will fight the enemy Elastoise. You can Mug Laser Canons from him. He will also very rarely drop them. Use Ammo-RF on three Laser canons to get the Pulse Ammos. Be sure to learn "Mug" and "Ammo-RF" before you get here. Then, go to Timber's junk shop and buy the Lionheart.
Play cards to obtain ten Enoyle cards. These cards are extremely rare and are usually used by difficult players in the game. Defeat the Brothers GF in the Tomb of the Unknown King to obtain the Sacred and Minotaur cards. Use the Card Mod ability to turn the Sacred card into ten Adamantines. Mug the Laser Cannon item from the Belhelmels. This is extremely difficult to get, and will require multiple attempts. Mug six Dragon fangs from the Grendels or from the T-Rexaur (recommended when at about level 20). They also drop them after battle. Use the Card Mod ability to turn the ten Enoyle cards into an Energy crystal. Use the Ammo-RF ability to turn the Energy Crystal into ten Pulse Ammo, and the Laser Cannon into five Pulse Ammo. Level up to at least level 40 or higher. Go to the nearest city and remodel your weapon. You should now have the Lionheart weapon while still on Disc 1.
Get the Lionheart in Disc 2:Adamantine can be acuired by stealing it from BGH251F2 with Mug ability or by using Card mod on the Minotaur's card. Dragon Fangs are dropped by Blue Dragons, and T-Rexaurs. Blue Dragons can be found in the Bika forests just outside of Trabia Garden. Pulse Ammo can be acquired by Mugging Blitzes for a Power Generator. Power Generators are rare to Mug from a Blitz, so this may take some time. Blitzs can be found in the Sarenghetti forest by the Centra Ruins. Quezecoatl has the Card mod and Diablos has Mug.
Proof Of Omega:After you defeat Omega Weapon, you usually get two items (Three-Stars and Proof Of Omega). To see the Proof Of Omega, go into the information section from the Tutorial menu. It should be at the very bottom.
Free map to the Tomb Of The Unknown King:Have Rinoa in your party and the guard at General Caraway's mansion will give it for free.
Magic
Obtaining various magic:Use Time Magic Refining to refine Three Stars into 100 Triple. Then, Flare, Meteor, and Meltdown can be drawn from high level Behemoth, Ruby Dragon and Gayla respectively. Just use Tonberry's Lv Up ability to draw, then use Level Down to decrease the experience gain in order to keep your levels low. Death is also one of the best magics to junction to Luck. Tornado can rise your Eva rate to 21% if you have 100.
Once the Ragnarok is obtained, fly to the island closest to heaven (resembles a lower-case r) in the northeast part of the map, then equip Diablos' "Enc-None" ability. Explore around the island's edge while tapping X (PlayStation version) to find draw points of Flare, Ultima, Aura, Holy, Full-Life, Meteor and many other powerful magic. This makes it easy to upgrade your health to 9999 with Triple and Ultima equipped. This may also be done on the island closest to hell, in the northwest part of the map.
Rare magic draw points:
There is an Ultima draw point at the bottom of the Warship island before fighting Ultima Weapon. It is on the right of the entrance, and is easily discovered with Siren's Find Draw and Save points ability.
There is a save point before fighting Ultima Weapon and on the left of the big comp. Walk near the comp then go left until you cannot go further. It is easily discovered with Siren's Find Draw and Save points ability.
There is a Life 2 draw point in the Missile's Hangar at the Galbadian missile base. Enter the room with the save point on the left and the terminal where you cheated to prevent the Galbadian missiles by hitting Balamb Garden. It is near the second silo on the left and is easily discovered with Siren's Find Draw and Save points ability.
There is an Aura draw Point in Altemicia's castle. Go to the room with the spiral staircase (enter the castle, go straight in the door up the stairs, fall down the big chandelier and then open the door on the ground; a Boss is also here). Go to the right, between the barrels. It is easily discovered with Siren's Find Draw and Save points ability.
There's an Ultima draw point in Altemicia's castle. Go to the place where you fought the Galganture (big skeleton that causes abnormal status when attacking). The draw point is on the left, near the second knight's armor.
In the Island closest to Heaven and Hell there are lots of draw points near the edges. Just follow the edge of the island and keep tapping Circle until you find one. The list of magic include: Ultima, Holy, Aura, Meteor, Flare, Tornado, and Quake.
When you walk in Shumi Village, talk to the three Shumi's. They will ask you to pay 5,000 gil to go to the draw point. Answer "Yes" to get to an Ultima draw point.
Hidden Apocalypse magic:Before fighting Ultimecia on Disc 4, Junction the Draw and Magic commands on any of your characters. When you reach Ultimecia's final form, damage her until you see her having two targets in the window. You can draw the Apocalypse spell on the lower part of Ultimecia and either cast it on her or stock it. Cast Triple on that character and cast it three times via magic. Ultimecia also draws it from herself and casts it on you.
Saving Aura magic:Aura is a magic which can be used up after so many changes of character (when Circle is pressed in the PlayStation version). To prevent this, do not start tapping Circle repeatedly until the two other characters who do not have aura have had their turns. Then, before their bar is back up, keep tapping Circle. This is a much more effective way to use Aura.
Have Quistis in your party. Cast Aura on her and have her using the Mighty Guard. Sometimes she will "transfer" her Aura status to your entire party. You must be lucky, but it is worth it. This will allow you to save two Auras.
Get Aura in Disc 2:You will need to have Siren's Tool Refine, Leviathan's Supt Mag Refine, and Diablose' Mug ability. Go to the Great Plains of Galbadia and look for Weindegos. They are a funny looking green and yellow sort of monkey. Mug them to get Steel Pipes. Depending on the Weindegos, you may get two or four steel pipes from each. Be careful with these monsters -- although not that deadly, they can take a lot of your HP. After winning, use Tool Refine to refine the Steel Pipes into Aura Stones. Then use Supt Mag Refine to turn them into Aura.
No potion heal:To save Gil and be safe during a Boss battle, get 100 Drains for a character that can junction his attack to status. Put the 100 Drains in that slot. When you attack a normal enemy with them junctioned 100, you will get the same Hp back. There is one setback to this -- do not attack undead creatures.
Changing items into magic:Changing the Samasa's Soul item (from changing Seifer's Card) will create 60 Triple magic. Triple is one of the best magics to junction. Changing 50 Phoenix feathers with Eden's Elaborate G.F. items ability will create a Phoenix Soul. This teaches the Revive ability to one of your G.F. (Easy if you have a lot of gil.)
Making full use of the Status Junction:Pain magic is one of the best magics for junction to Status Attack. It can take charge of most of the monsters in the Islands Closest To Heaven and Hell.
